It seems in evaluating the risks that remote location is one of the highest risk complications? Is the majority of the route at the bottom-most of the cave, or are there any fall dangers? The rock type seems a bit flakey to make helmets a recommendation. In the parts walking on the stream, what do you think is the highest the water gets in there?
@@benjaminscholten I have seen pictures from earlier in the year and the water is boiling out of the cave which makes the creek much higher and faster as well. There is little indication of rock fall danger but as you can tell I didn’t go very deep in the cave as it’s more about finding it to me. I’m not a caver at all. The dangers are always present at caves and the access to the area isn’t easy so you don’t want people without proper equipment going into the area and then needing to be rescued. Caves are also a fragile ecosystem and the last thing you want to see is damage or paint in the caves. I feel very privileged to have been there and I’ll return some day.😊

@@AdventureWalk4K Thanks for joining me and welcome to the channel. If you go through my list there are many winter treks on it. I know it’s a long list but there are some beauts on the list. Once again welcome😊
Pine Pass is one of my favorite places. Low on people high on wildlife, scenery and discoverys. My body won't let me do much of it anymore, but the old little known horse trail to La Moray lks. Then up the south hill overlooking Hart lk and the Pine rv valley some of my best memories. Bushwacked into Simon lk in 1980, was called Grizzly lk back then, years before the road spoiled it. Keep your laces tight and the camera on.❤👍
@@ontheedge-e5d I’ve also spent some time hunting Willow creek and the Burnt as well as Silversands so am quite familiar with the country. I’m 68 now so I’ve slowed down some but still enjoying every trek I take into the mountains. Thanks for checking the video out and keep grabbing what you can from the outdoors as will I!😊
Although the sun did not shine very much the trek was still scenic and beautiful. And once again thank you for the safety and preparedness reminders:)

Great video Gerald!! What amazing views!!
@@rongoris3022 Thanks glad you enjoyed it. Some very beautiful out there.😊
Gerald, can you elaborate more on the specific yoga and stretching exercises or regimen that you undertook? I spent a LOT of my career sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen but have (in the past decade or so) gotten more and more active in walking and hiking. However, in the last few years I have been finding I am having more and more problems with my knees and hips and want to make sure that when I retire (in the next couple years, at age 67) that I will be able to enjoy at least 10+ more years of hiking. Any input you could give on what worked for you (understanding that it may not work for everyone) would be greatly appreciated. (PS: I became aware of your channel from watching Shawn Trudel's @CabinRiverOutdoors TH-cam channel).
@@rongoris3022 I start my day by doing the cat type stretches, arched back and rounded back holding them for twenty seconds. Several sets. Then on all fours I bring one knee up to my chest or close as possible then rotate my leg back bringing my foot above my hip. Set of twenty then opposite leg. Do two sets. Next in the same position rotate your hip out then extend your leg back and return to start. 2 sets of 20 both legs. Sitting on the floor touching your toes working your way until you can hold them for twenty bottom of your feet. I do more but that’s a good start if you don’t cheat. I may make a video in the future of my workout which includes lifting weights.😊
@@rongoris3022 Thanks for finding me. We were out snowshoeing in the mountains today and invited Shawn along but he was too busy to join us. We will get him out in the future.

@@TrekkingwithTaz I’m sure I’ll go through a lot of your vids, love the BC backcountry, best decision I made was emigrating here! (Oh & marrying the wife encase she reads this lol)
I know those woods well, 1st house in off the hwy. those walking sticks with slippery rocks was a suicidal choice, if not for the helicopter at the ski lodge you would have to wait for stars from PG if you fell, further down the road you get into caribou protected land and stepping on the wrong moss could cost you up to $20,000 in fines, no motorized hunting is allowed on that mountain.
@@Manic1620 interesting comment. We do lots of exploring and are very careful about the choices we make but there are often hazards associated with exploring but we do try to minimize them. As for hunting we weren’t hunting at all and we certainly watch for signs making areas off limits. If there are signs telling us we can’t walk on certain vegetation we didn’t see them but I will do more research as I have no intention of crossing that line. I’m an explorer not a destroyer.
Such beauty.
