Love your detailed descriptions! Thank you. BTW my wife wants to know who does that song you use. She loves it😁
@@EdReurink Thanks for the comment I will find out who does the song and post it on here for you. Leaving in two days for a four day backpack in the mountains. Stay tuned should be epic.
@@EdReurink ok the song is by Rare Earth. You can look it up on Google for your wife.😊
@TrekkingwithTaz thank you!
That wasnt the one. The song with the lyrics that talk about Canada.
Very nice, Gerald, a tough trip at this time of year. It must be especially challenging keeping up with that powerhouse in front of you!
@@pgoutdoors Thanks Mike and yes Mark is a beast for sure. Keeps me young chasing him.😊
Thank you for all the hard work it entailed to seize and share the beauty of this trek:)
@@kathyb9436 it was a tough day but a good day. I’m surprised how decent I feel today😊
Great video Gerald!! What amazing views!!
@@rongoris3022 Thanks glad you enjoyed it. Some very beautiful out there.😊
Gerald, can you elaborate more on the specific yoga and stretching exercises or regimen that you undertook? I spent a LOT of my career sitting at a desk in front of a computer screen but have (in the past decade or so) gotten more and more active in walking and hiking. However, in the last few years I have been finding I am having more and more problems with my knees and hips and want to make sure that when I retire (in the next couple years, at age 67) that I will be able to enjoy at least 10+ more years of hiking. Any input you could give on what worked for you (understanding that it may not work for everyone) would be greatly appreciated. (PS: I became aware of your channel from watching Shawn Trudel's @CabinRiverOutdoors TH-cam channel).
@@rongoris3022 I start my day by doing the cat type stretches, arched back and rounded back holding them for twenty seconds. Several sets. Then on all fours I bring one knee up to my chest or close as possible then rotate my leg back bringing my foot above my hip. Set of twenty then opposite leg. Do two sets. Next in the same position rotate your hip out then extend your leg back and return to start. 2 sets of 20 both legs. Sitting on the floor touching your toes working your way until you can hold them for twenty bottom of your feet. I do more but that’s a good start if you don’t cheat. I may make a video in the future of my workout which includes lifting weights.😊
@@rongoris3022 Thanks for finding me. We were out snowshoeing in the mountains today and invited Shawn along but he was too busy to join us. We will get him out in the future.
@@TrekkingwithTaz Excellent! Thanks for the ideas! 👍
@ maybe in the new year I’ll try to put a video together I just never thought people would really be interested. Hope you find something in there that helps. Aging isn’t gentle on the body!😊

@@TrekkingwithTaz I’m sure I’ll go through a lot of your vids, love the BC backcountry, best decision I made was emigrating here! (Oh & marrying the wife encase she reads this lol)
I know those woods well, 1st house in off the hwy. those walking sticks with slippery rocks was a suicidal choice, if not for the helicopter at the ski lodge you would have to wait for stars from PG if you fell, further down the road you get into caribou protected land and stepping on the wrong moss could cost you up to $20,000 in fines, no motorized hunting is allowed on that mountain.
@@Manic1620 interesting comment. We do lots of exploring and are very careful about the choices we make but there are often hazards associated with exploring but we do try to minimize them. As for hunting we weren’t hunting at all and we certainly watch for signs making areas off limits. If there are signs telling us we can’t walk on certain vegetation we didn’t see them but I will do more research as I have no intention of crossing that line. I’m an explorer not a destroyer.
Such beauty.

Great video and documentation of some of the land up there. If you continue on that slope you guys headed up there is a beautiful plateau to explore. There’s a few tarns, caves that drop in, lots of alpine flowers, and I’ve seen herds of caribou up there too. That whole area is truly special and I’d love to go back someday. I’ve also gone up the mountain to look for Close-to-the-edge on two occasions and couldn’t locate it. It’s not marked very well, but I think I know roughly where it is now that I’ve covered the wrong areas. Sad to hear the tram is down now.
@@houseoflibra Thankyou. We have been trying to access the plateau from the Gleason end of late. We have found Bluebell cave and have been looking for Gleason cave as well as Geutentite but as of yet can’t confirm we found it. As for Close to the edge cave it’s on the agenda for next season. The caves you speak of on the plateau I know nothing about. Thanks for tuning in.

I just returned from a trip to Prince George, and I'm back home in Thunder Bay. I heard it snowed in the mountains direction the day I left- Perhaps that was the snow you showed in the video. I went on the trail to the ancient forest and saw massive old growth cedars- I think that was the most awesome fantastic trail I have ever been on in my life. I didn't get to see any caves this trip but maybe next time- I can't wait to come back, hopefully next year. What an amazing place to explore, if you like wilderness- which I do.
