I was 20 years old when these games came out and they came out in February and then my birthday was in summer after my Freshman year of college. In my eyes as a hardcore Zelda fan, BOTH of these games were masterpieces! With both College, work, and a band I was in, both of these games kept me busy and entertained until Christmas of 2001 😊 I loved how you explained Seasons to be “Zelda 1 but better” and Ages really does feel like “Ocarina of time but portable”. If they made these as remakes on the Switch that’d be a day One purchase! But I say that about every Zelda game so I’m obviously Biased! Just beat Echoes of Wisdom ta boot! Ya gonna play, beat and review that one too Gheb??? 😎👍

Honestly owned this game since like 2013 but never managed to play it until earlier this year purely because I didn't have a 2nd GBA or any link cables. Now i'm getting through the game, and finally playing it (and beating it) 100%.

I remember my first play through I needed to upgrade my swim by one point so I could progress. I’m sure there was a way around but I just couldn’t see it

Gta 5 was also super successful due to all the sub communities. Like the rp community and machinima community and gta 6 needs to also appeal to them

These games were meant to have a 3rd game with Farore as the central goddess; she wasn't supposed to just be hanging out in the deku tree doing almost nothing. The oracle games were my favorite as a kid, and a proper remake that includes the original concept featuring all three goddesses would be my dream ❤

I owner both as a kid. I never noticed the lack of a "proper" story in this game and found I liked playing it more than ages. Ages was more puzzle based where as seasons is just "let's do zelda 1 again but better" and I was all for it.

Technically Nintendo should we make both games and used them together putting them in one coherent story

Just finished the DLC and immediately started to look for people trashing it to feel better about having wasted my time playing it.

When I first played Fallout 3, I got this DLC first. Played through and decided that any DLC wasn't worth it. Maybe 8 years later I gave a second shot and got the others. World's of differences, quite literally.

I think it's safe to say that for me, Ages is the overall better package, but Seasons is the better game purely in regards to gameplay, at least if you're playing a Linked Game. As you mentioned, the secrets were a lot of fun this go-around and the way they handled the boss fights against the classic Zelda 1 bosses was great.

As an achievement hunter this is really a bad DLC, at least with braaaaaaaaaaaaaains mission you had guaranteed brain drops by landing headshots on the zombies, but here the farming it's just horrible and painful.

When the delisting first happened I rushed fast to get the complete digital steam copy of Season 2 from g2a before the price hiked up. It was always something planned to get, but had not until then. The wonderful thing about steam copy is I can still play the entirety of the game to this day

Are you looking at Hyrule Castle Town on a CRT though? 🤨 If you aren't using the tech of the time you can't judge the blurriness in the tiny CGi images. It also isn't made to be viewed on big screens, so don't go judging it on your big pc monitors or tv screens at high resolutions.

Hot take: bottom of the well and ikana canyon are two parts of the same full dungeon. Think about it, you get a "transformation mask" from playing the song of healing that allows you to enter the dungeon, you go through a maze with it's own unique mechanic, while using the transformation mask, to fight a miniboss that gives you the mirror shield which allows you to explore Ikana castle "the rest of the dungeon" where at the end you fight a boss that requires you to use the "dungeon item" to beat. The only problem is that you need 3 things from outside the dungeon to beat it

I've never played either one but if they remake it on the switch, I'd definitely buy it and play it for the first time, yeah they should remake it

The ending of the OG vs the DX version is a little bit about Merrin flying across the screen if you did a perfect playthrough without dying… DX and the NS remake has it the way you saw it as you played the DX version

About that the Goran Dance mini game for me is 100% IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT SAVE states.

Ages and Seasons are only beaten by A Link to the Past as far as 2D titles are concerned, imo. I ADORE these titles.

Would love a remake of this game and seasons, (same with Zelda II personally). It would be perfect if they were published together, but knowing nintendo, they’d definitely release ages and seasons as two separate releases at 60 dollars each.
