It seems to me that Tim Bergling / Avicii ended his life like he ended his shows. He even gave us an encore, of sorts. As an example, I wouldn't want it necessarily 'catching on' as some kind of good idea. But Tim was involved in some rather deep existential angst. If there is no god, and humans will eventually die off, what ULTIMATE sense can be made of our lives? Is it necessary that we have something 'ultimate' as our foundations? I studied philosophy at university as my major (along with computer science...double major). And I can't prove that what Tim did was necessarily wrong, let alone wrong for Tim. But without our lives, we wouldn't have our senses of sound by which we appreciate the musical genius of an Avicii. And while it is true that there will never be another Avicii, he did spark a LOT of people to get involved in music who otherwise likely wouldn't have. And that may well pay off in dividends to humanity that can't even be imagined today. I remember hearing Jacob Collier speak about his mother challenging him to identify the key of non-instruments -- such as lawnmowers, car engines, etc. I suspect Tim Bergling had someone in his early childhood who helped him develop his uncanny bird-like (angelic?) understanding of melodies and sounds that he wanted to incorporate into his works.

How can everyone say “they have no clue” why he killed himself? Obviously I didn’t know him, but just watching him and having some sympathy and understanding for how people work, it’s clear, literally couldn’t be clearer, that he suffered from severeee anxiety. I know just how it feels even though it’s not because of the same reasons. And waking up with that feeling everyday, never leaving you, can make you genuinely hate life and just want out. Not saying that’s the reason, since he started to feel better right after retiring from touring, but why tf is nobody talking about it?

I don't think it's fair that all the comments pretend to know he is responsible for Avicii's death. In the end, no one, maybe not even his family knows why he killed himself. He was surely overworked (and Ash definitely played a part in that), and I think it was irresponsible to let him touring for so long and so often, especially for such a young guy. But he was also a very introverted person and had a massive drug problem. I don't think Avicii would have wanted us to blame his death on anyone, don't you guys?
