Bringing new life to old items one project at a time.
1943 German Canister Clean Up
Cleaning up a German gas mask canister from WWII - Gave it a vinegar bath first to reveal any markings before going more aggressive with the media blast, turns out it was made in 1943. Dents were left in to preserve that battlefield look and a new shoulder strap has been ordered, thanks for stopping by!

BMW E30 First Wash After 10 Years Outside
มุมมอง 101K3 ปีที่แล้ว
New life for a “Farm Find” 1990 325i - *A full tune-up including all belts and fluids was completed prior to starting the engine* As a former E36/E46 owner I’ve always been intrigued by E30’s but never owned one. This particular example was a celebration of moss, cobwebs, mouse dirt, and wasp nests when I first got around to it. After a good scrubbing the overall goal has been to get her back on...
Dang, lot of cosmoline just finished a mk3 with my grandfather. Looks good! Keep it up
Nice work. May I ask you what did you employ to degrease both the wood stock and barrel/action? Many thanks
Thanks! I used Murphy oil soap to clean the stock and then boiled linseed oil to finish. On the metal bits I use Hoppes #9 gun oil, its great for just general bolt/barrel lubrication and when using steel wool to remove light rust.
I strip mine down and boil barrel for about 15 mins . I boil all the individual metal parts . This removes the crud and cosmoline . Out of the water everything gets a quick blow dry and oiling . Then I put them back together , making improvements if needed like checking the barrel is floating etc etc . All the parts then get scrutinized with a microscope and all the markings are photographed and logged for each gun . I do a head space check and if it passes I replace the firing spring with a stronger one . Then I shoot them ! Then I buy another and start again ….BTW …not all of those “$3000 sniper rifles” were real snipers , there are many out there that were regular rifles and someone added the scope … they dont get past me ….I tell them it was never a sniper and offer $500….
So all you did was cleaned it
Yeah, basically.
At times less is better, not to decrease the value.
It was not necessary to do anything more.
I wouldn’t so much call it restoration as preservation personally but I get that that looks better in the title. Pretty much exactly what I do (minus the stock)
Outstanding, glad you keep your firearms in good shape!
Beautiful rifle.
Very satisfying

Quite a nice trailer...

Very nice what a beautiful car. Now the owner should conservate the engine bay again for protection. 💁♂️👍💯
🤝🤝🤝👍👍👍
Just how I got mine 😌😌 awesome
Still needs a lot of work, after a decade of stalling...
Not exactly sure why the previous owner let it sit for so long, but there is definitely lots of work to go. I’m in the process of replacing all the rubber bits on the car now, just glad I got to it before the rust did.
@@alpineambition5606 it's a profound find, an absolutely amazing car that you will enjoy thoroughly once you have addressed all the necessary bits..
Very nice car, but why the airbag delete?
Hi Martin, Thank you! I deleted the airbag wheel for same reason I swapped out the Bottlecaps for Basketweaves, purely for visuals, I’ve just never been a big supporter of the chunky airbag look. Lots of enthusiasts opt for a three-spoke Sport or M-Tech wheel but I chose the four-spoke since it has four doors :)
@@alpineambition5606 ah I understand. Yeah the colored BMW logo looks definitely better. I was confused because the airbag option is a pretty rare here in Germany and this by itself make's it a bit cool. But my E30 also is equipped with the standard Steeringwheel.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Even before the car wash she was cleannnnnnnnnn😻😻😻
