I totally disagree with using grease on lathe and drill chucks…vices…anything slow moving with threads… It just acts like a magnet for dust and metal chips.. A light oil like 3 in one works just fine, and is so much easier to occasionally clean using brake cleaner or white spirits…then coat with the oil…. I’ve restored many old lathe and drill chuck seized solid with a mixture of hardened grease and crud… Grease is fine on high temperature fast moving parts where it’s recommended..

5:25 - there is NO way that "keyway" is going to provide any level of indexing. That "keyway" and the corresponding screw/pin in the spindle is ONLY there to aid in screwing in the drawbar - it keeps the collet from spinning. IT IS NOT AN ALIGNMENT PIN.

Can you explain why when drilling you kept lifting the bit out of the work?

A whole video dedicated to dial calipers with no mention of the step measurement function. There are only 4 to learn and you only knew 3.

The slot in an R8 collet is not to make sure it is indexed properly, it is simply to stop it spinning when tightening the drawbar. Likewise with the C5, the grub screw does not have to be tightened into the collet slot. It is also just to stop the collet spinning when tightening.

Easy way to understand ..

Please do not place your hand near the blade while the saw is running!!!!!!! Correction with the correct blade, tooth pitch, blade speed, feed rate you can cut all the materials mentioned wood, plastic, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, on the Marvel 8 Mark II. He is correct in pointing out if you cut wood or plastic the fines from these materials, will plug up the coolant pump or generally just make a mess of your coolant. These materials are cut dry by turning the coolant selector to off and with no coolant in the sump; coolant can be drained and stored in clean 5 gallon pails or a clean 55 drum while cutting these materials; completely clean all the fines from the chip drawer, recharge the coolant into the sump. The dimension of the part is the main determining factor of tooth pitch, minimum # of teeth in a cut is 3 teeth per inch and a maximum of 21. A 8" solid round of stainless steel will require a 2/3 TPI blade. Harder materials that are difficult to cut, making smaller chips needs more teeth to share the work load, softer materials that make larger chips require fewer teeth and more gullet space to remove material. Overall a good video, big props for cleaning up the machine after use. You made me cringe so hard putting your hand near the running blade I had to comment.
