I actually enjoy Bubsy and while it is an undeniable truth that this game is bad-like OBJECTIVE TRUTH-I find the game itself fun after about 6-8 hours. Granted I do not believe ANY game should require hours of playtime to understand it fundamentally so ya know Bubsy is undeniably awful for that aspect alone, but it can be fun. Bubsy takes inspiration from Sonic clear as day and as such it is a game that features the Sonic 1 game philosophy of "if you play this game long enough and die enough you can get good enough to speed through even the slow levels" which is why Bubsy has crazy momentum and a glide mechanic. It's also why they probably gave him 9 lives and it was more than a thematic choice, the game is built to be a stupidly hard struggle that requires you to memorize enemy placements and know how the glide mechanic works in order to breeze through stages. Once you get down memorization and know when and where to glide (which Matt actually does a good job of once he learns how to) you can truly play and have fun. Also once again like objectively this game is bad I am not saying otherwise, yet it CAN be fun and I am probably one of the 5 people who enjoy it so there's my reasoning
