There is zero evidence that this does anything beyond that. There’s no evidence energy in this sense exists. You only reason say that this is a scam is because you’re locked in a pod and your matrix and you’re unable to awaken. @@qt_stacy if that is your point, it applies also for doctors , dentists, physiotherapists, psychologists,... to anybody. My worst recent experience has been with a dentist. There are good and not so good ones in any profession. Usualy we go to recommended practitioners in any health area.

Finding one paper with one conclusion is at best 3rd grade level research. Anxiety and depression both have complex underlying situational, neurological and genetic components. I question the credibility of any researcher that does not differentiate between anxiety and depressions as symptoms and the specific diagnoses that manifests itself in the form of those symptoms. It doesn't do harm directly, but like all pseudoscientific "treatments," it can do tremendous harm by delaying or completely derailing legitimate treatments. That and, as you said, wasting people's time and money. It's nonsense with no scientific evidence behind it. Thousands of anecdotes do not amount to acceptable evidence: as many people here have no doubt heard, the plural of anecdote is not data. Of course people feel better after having another person or persons pay specific, close attention to them in a calming environment. That is not evidence Reiki is doing something.
