I don't know why smoking pot is an issue when it's legal at so many states. BS. Who has been convicted of a violent offense while high on pot alone? Where are the child molesters, the murderers, the sexual offenders? These courts are a joke.

Cases are often dropped because all the states resources are drying up.

Ms Martinez - they don't take your license because you wear an ankle monitor. Long pants, even scrubs, will absolutely cover an ankle monitor - unless they are skin tight pants - wear them looser. Pending charges preventing potential employers from hiring you? Well, that "pending charge" won't go away until trial, plea deal or dismissal of charges. So the ankle monitor should not affect that. Wear long pants to offices. Problem solved lol... watching her walk away.... no one could see her ankle monitor under her pant legs.... Ffs

Mr Austin with his fine clothing and Bible in hand... charges from 2018, 2023, 2024 all including assault-family member ..... (injury to a child for one!) sorry, but how you present yourself and the words you use in the courtroom versus the alleged actions you are accused of committing are miles apart. Hopefully the injury to child was minor and cps is involved especially if all his children are present in court to "support" him. It's possible they might be intimidated enough by him that they appeared to stand behind him to prevent possible repercussions and punishment at home.

The fine dressed man with the nice shoes.... not liking the look of wearing the monitor with your fine clothing, believing people are only seeing your ankle monitor when out and about, and feeling "not seen" as a human being sure of the tracking ankle monitor that your "alleged" illegal threats caused you to be required to wear -> not really legitimate reasons to have it taken off by the judge. Your lawyer saying you had "medical issues" as your most important reason is kind of laughable since you never mentioned that, not once. Just guessing that if defendant was switching from ankle to ankle it might have just been uncomfortable or caused mild chafing - > again, not a "medical need" - wear thin socks underneath the monitor and voilà problem will go away. Expressing how you value your freedom and how you want to enjoy your retirement - well, don't put yourself in a position where you need to go to court to prevent any loss of that freedom. Stop threatening people - learn to walk away with the dignity and grace your clothing suggests you wish to portray.

They do LONG probations!!!! 6 years??? I see this a lot in her court. But it hopefully will help. I like that she cares and people are not just a number.

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper to have facilties that helped these people? They closed so many. Doesn't make sense. We have money to send overseas but these people are thrown to the wind.

I'm very glad Judge Boyd is as tough on female defendants as she is on male ones. That makes me think even more highly of her. She gave someone 6 years with the chance to get out in 6 months. So basically, if she doesn't get out in 6 months it's because she didn't do what she should have done, which means she likely wouldn't have been able to last on deferred adjudication, either, and would have ended up in prison either way. The judge just ripped the bandaid off much faster this way.

Just a note, after watching tons of court cases it must be so frustrating for officers to makes 10, 20 plus arrests and they just dismiss them or drop most of them OR not real justice is given to a habitual criminal and they have to arrest them again knowing they will just be out on thè street soon committing more crimes. It takes special people to do the job of a officer for many years!

Iesha's Case is the most infuriating case I have heard yet and I've heard a lot!!.It's absolutely Inexcusable!! I Don't understand on why she gets to say what judge she goes before and why all the judges she goes before wouldnt have her entire record. The prosecuting DA should make sure that judge understands her career criminal history. And what has happened. She is a HABITUAL criminal who has gotten WAY too much dismissed by judges that don't pay attention or just take her at her word (uugg!!)and prosecuting attorneys that don't make sure those judges understand what's going on. It's disgusting and now if she hurts somebody,The courts have failed miserably with her!! How can they keep dismissing things one after another After another without looking at her record? unbelievable cra...!!

My baby is gone but, before we lost her last year, I wanted her to wear a little. She finally asked for lashes and highlighter at 13. I’m definitely going to miss playing in makeup with her. I know we want to protect our daughters our children, I think that we should give them a little freedom within reason. And do it with them so that way you can maybe control and have them do it within moderation. And explain to them why less is more. By the time I was in ninth grade I was wearing full-blown make up wigs and lashes.. I’m 53.

This judge is so down-home and cozy, I bet she's a real friend to those who know her. She's compassionate, yet firm, she cares about these defendants and wants to help steer them in the right direction.

I love how she breaks things down for them. Pedro’s eyes were so dark, it’s great she read into him. Also, his attorney knew he needed help, but either couldn’t get through to him or just didn’t take the time. However, no one can break it down like Judge Boyd. ❤❤❤

Judge Boyd treated Pedro with real compassion.

Illegal drug use is like walking into a trap that locks as you go in with the only key in your hand. No one else can let you out unless you choose to use it but it is a difficult road back even when you decide to use that only key.
