Hi all. Somebody who can help me please? In my case the metal part which is conecting with the head of the tohtbrush, is going out when I pull the head and it is stay in the tothbrush. I opened the system, try to figure out, but I have no ideea how to fix it. Many thanks

Really great video for my '03 dakota. Can you do one on pleasing the wife? Only one thing- the part marked with an L or R has a hump to tell which side is up, but i only got one shot in the video that indicated which was front and back, if it matters. If it doesn't, then thanks a million for the vid. Keep 'em coming.

Five years after this was posted and we're still finding it to fix our Philips' Sonicare toothbrushes. I will note that mine was the 9120 (with bluetooth). Apparently I needed to squeeze the sides (used a plumber's pliers with extra wide mouth and adjustable handle) and couldn't get it to release the bottom. I finally used the vice to squeeze, was able to pry the bottom off, the turned everything over and used skinny screwdrivers to open the two teeth holding the innards in. Tightened the screw and reassembled. (I do anticipate that I will be repeating this in the future with a drop of locktite or superglue on those threads.) Thanks Barry for your excellent video. As mentioned, great voice with a good script, no annoying music and clear instructions and closeups when appropriate. Thanks again.

It seems like a common point of failure! My dodge durango has the same problem. Seat is always rocking back and forth.

Can you adjust the rail so that the seat sits back about an other 3 or 4 inches in the all the way back extension rail. Pl z lmk 😎

The socket for the torx nuts on the front are E20. I didn't read all the comments to see if anyone else said it.

Great video and will get the parts to fix mine. FYI....if you use the link, some cars it says the parts kit doesn't fit....like my 2008 Cadillac CTS.....does. I searched online and saw that Advance Auto sold the exact same Dorman kit with the same part number. So don't always believe the fitment section. The kit for my CTS is $25 at Advance Auto.....$18 on Amazon.

Great info, excellent video and instructions. Watched half dozens of them, yours is the best. The replacement part come with thread locker, so I passed (I did not have it TBH). Thank you.

I found that you do not need to remove the plastic side covers shown in the first minute of the video. Your boxed end 15mm wrench will fit through the inner part of the slide rail in a circle cut out specifically to get to that nut instead of from the front underside of the rail shown at time stamp 5:15. It saves a minute or two each seat not removing the plastic side covers.

Radio Shack!? then i looked at how old the video was. actually, the last time i saw a radio shack (in Chicagoland was prolly 2009-2011) just goes to show how few people actually “fix” schitt these days. kinda sad, really. the people that are around in 100, 500, years from now, if we don’t blow it all up beforehand, are gonna wish they could travel back in time and slap us with “extreme prejudice” for burning the oil up, long after we really needed to. Mine is still not vibrating properly despite this part not being broken. I also moved the magnet like it says to do online and that doesn’t work either.

Mine had a slightly different problem. The upper molded metal part is splined on the inside with one flat side and the shaft is pressed in (the flat keeps the shaft in the proper orientation for the toothbrush to face you). Well, the splines had become worn and the shaft fell out! After some puzzlement, I reversed the shaft and pressed back in. It is tight as new and everything works, you just have to put the toothbrush on backwards and hold it with the buttons facing away. A small inconvenience and better than buying a new part. Thanks again for explanation of disassembly.

your video is extremely helpful. I need to do a replacement of the metal shaft also but I see a copper wire coil wrapped around it under the rubber seal--the wire comes from the circuit board that is in the handle part. any idea how to deal with this copper wire when installing the new metal shaft/stem? is it safe to just cut the copper wire? Thank you.
