My personal headcanon is she chose to stay with original Austin, and Past Austin is the one we see in Goldmember. Here’s the reasoning: Original Austin got over Vanessa being a fembot in about 5 seconds, but his reaction to Felicity’s death might be the most legitimately enraged he ever got in the series. Being forced to watch a woman he actually loved due really seemed to change him. His initial reaction to Felicity “cheating” on him also says a lot, I don’t think the Austin from part 1 would’ve been too upset. He probably would’ve been turned on. But because he had undergone character development and really loved her, he felt betrayed (until he realized it was with his past self) On the other hand, Past Austin pretty much seems like stereotypical Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery. He didn’t have any deep attachment to Felicity or any girl, just like Austin is supposed to be. At some point after part 2, the original Austin retired to stay with Felicity, and had Past Austin step into his place.
