In 1993 when I was student, with six friends walk on the road from Nongkojajar (Malang area) and climb the Mountain. Almost no vechile there, just meet have fun and take photos with another climber on the road.. .Little number visitor and just meet 3 foreigners there.. . Now, Bromo is tourism area. Not crowded like now. I miss that's time, very memorable journey as young student.. .

I was crossed land border from Uzbekistan to Kazaksthan. They took almost an hour to check my passport. I had the same feeling that the bus has left without me.
