my friends like the new type of tower defense games, the gambling ones, while I like the real ones, such as tds and other non summoning skill based tower defense games. The problem is is that when I want to play a td game, the only ones they want to play are the ones with summoning such as anime adventures and vanguards.
I love gambling....Well- Wait no- Alright so Yes these games are STUPIDLY braindead, Repetitive...But it's only fun when you're at a point where you actually need strategy....I have the meta units in the game and Anime Vanguards It's still difficult due to the way that the game forces you to shift from OP, braindead meta units to basic units which makes it challenging the only real reason I play these is because of the challenging aspect of the game however to get to the point of the game I had to be AFK, GRIND, MACRO, NON bloody stop and I'm at a point where I still can't progress because then it just gets to hard even with insanely op units this is a insight on how the game kinda makes you play even more I guess iT'S A PAIN IN THE ASS My friends do Braindeadly play those games where, OP unit = WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WINW INW INWWIN I don't see any fun in that... BUT PLENTY OF THESE GAMES HAVE SOME WAY OF IMPLEMENTING CREATIVITY

ATD games in Roblox are Gacha games that Fails To Be A Gacha game and it's worse than a normal Gacha game because actual Gacha games has actually great art great music and great designs even you can say Anime Studios Level of animations
playing td makes my time not in waste, the reason im playing it it just because of cool effect coming from their skills including my fav anime. ig its just the same from anyone
May I introduce Anime World Tower Defense. The game has gambling but currency is easy to get from quests and rates are really good, each banner has pity for every 9 multis for a UR or higher. This game also differs from all the other ATDs in that you can evolve most characters so they stay useful and it has a category system where each unit has it's own categories based on the character's characteristics (like Swordmaster for character's who use swords, Pure Heart for characters with a kind personality, Treasure Hunter for characters whose goal is to look for a specific treasure) . Then they have a lead buff where if the specific unit is in the 1st slot of the team, if provides an ATK buff to every other unit on the team that is also on the category (So a unit that has a leader buff for SwordMaster of +130% ATK is put in the first slot and every other unit that is in the SwordMaster category gets this buff including the leader). There's more I could list but yeah AWTD is very F2P, max you need to spend is 500 robux for VIP for 3x speed but game gives everyone 2x speed. There are traits as well but they made them expensive enough that it isn't worth buying plus most of the game is beatable without them.

Gameplay loop consists of grinding for good units and then not playing until they release better units I only played a lot of all star tower defence so thankfully I didn't have to deal with the p2w trait bullshit The only thing I really had fun with in these kind of games is trading the community there is usually really big making it easy to get gamepasses completely f2p The events are usually enjoyable for the first few hours as well Other than that just buy btd6

the only tower defense game i play with gambling that i think is fine is anime world tower defense, the currency for summons is stupidly easy to get and codes alone give you like 200 pulls and when i was a beginner it wasnt really that hard, Even now i dont use the banner anymore because its not needed to progress
Only problem with awtd is that it’s just not good enough. The devs really don’t seem to care at all about new players, and the progression sucks

had a chat with one of the mods and it was so brainrotting. I asked why there wasnt a way to report bugs, the mod said they relied on testers for bugs, then I said why were there bugs, they said "soem bugs cant be found in testing", then why not make a bug reports channel if you cant find some bugs in testing? like what.
they gave you a reasonable answer and you somehow took it the wrong way some bugs aren't found in testing because almost all bugs happen after publishing the update, sir
@pylotheric9777 then let the community report the bugs that arent found in testing. that is my problem with it. if the testers find all the bugs, and then you say they CANT find all the bugs, why not let the community help you find the bugs that cant be found in testing?
The negatives of this event were Bugs- They just need to fix bugs more effectively but they are getting better Easy mode tower - the reward sucks, if they are going to make an event tower make it at least useful in some sort of way Cut scenes - just need a bit more polishing in how smooth the animations are and they need to bring in some realism to the situation and not make it too childish. Honestly though I really enjoyed the event. They have learnt from last time to spread good skins between both paths of the bp. Frost spirit is my favourite boss and they did good with his model, his boss them. The map was amazing, I loved the idea of monster coming to aid us. I say 8/10 event. I mean the bugs were annoying but not hard to fix. They fixed it in a couple of hours and even if I didn’t get the event tower on the first try due to a bug it wasn’t hard to complete it the second time. Cut scenes just need a bit of improving but I like the idea that they are trying to build a story. I have seen a lot of criticism on how the tds lore is all over the place but they basically have just started it now. So I think it’s fair to let them build our the story a bit more. Yes we did see lord exo in 2022 but there was no research, info and story behind his appearance.
The major issue with event is who it's trying to cater to, which are young impressionable kids which would eat almost any slop, the cutscene are onay but the acting is like a in child cartoon with comical villian and heros. The start of premium path on event pass trend without offering SOME kind of f2p alternative loke 3x grind for each level or purchasing through in game currency, and affermentioned glitches, bugs and lag. If they would polish optimization, give f2p alternative to premium path access and try give some taste for older audience of teenagers and adults, then event would je so much better
trying to make an already unrealistic and unserious game "serious" in a way would make it turn out cringe. the current style and way that's being used right now is "neutral" in the sense that it can't put off anyone from enjoying it - atleast unless you are siriusfrostalite, I guess.
@pylotheric9777 Nice insulting here, doesn't make any sense on your part though, Tdx is not realistic either with all this robots of war either, only the style of towers that's somewhat realistic yet we have same in here, and yet they have the identity and fairly written story unlike tds. What I say is, it shouldn't have the cutscenes that suitable for 5-8 year olds and should offer something for more mature audience just like old cartoons did. But I assume you can't perceive that cause you're not mature enough to do so.
@SiriusFrostalite The story of tds is not very polished since basically they never started making the lore for tds until the overhaul update or even later maybe. Tdx was planned to have lore and there were no cracks in it since John was planning to add it unlike tds which has a lot of cracks since the events don't seem connected and the events seem to only follow the story of their own event and are not connected to the other events while tdx seems to be more connected. The cutscenes are for kids bc at the end of the day roblox is for kids even though roblox is trying to appeal to more audiences most of them are still kids and tds knows that so adding more "mature" cutscenes won't appeal to the mass majority.
@nuhdff323 Even so, there are some decent attempts of connecting story, like Lunar Overture connecting 1st halloween with Umbra, where she came from and connecting that maybe Narrator is from the trick or threat with Lord Sinister, and although there are plot holes for now, there are ways to fix them. Tdx didn't tell much for it's lore until now with Halloween and 2nd Christmas event, so they're not that well thought out either. Lastly, even if the majority of the players are kids, it doesn't mean they can't add something on a side for adults to enjoy, taking in the example of old cartoons like Tom & Jerry, where we could saw tones of adult jokes within seemingly kids show.
@SiriusFrostalite the connections only started recently and that is what I said there are many cracks and them connecting is an effort to make the lore. Yeah that is what I mean tdx lore mainly started Christmas 2023 which was a month after its release and that gave it time to plan lore while tds did not have a early start of lore. The cutscenes if you want to have appeal to more audiences then you have to also consider other audiences too because Tom and Jerry is not going to appeal to people and the thing is most people don’t like the mature stuff so if they only appeal to the more older ones the younger ones or other age ranges also might not like the mature content so tds chose the best option make it more kid friendly because the fanbase of tds is mostly young children
From my opinion and honesty (please don't dox me because of my opinions), is that the newer updates are just rushed and meaningless and when it comes to the animations they are either bugged (act 1 halloween 2023, we just know how it was as an example), or like they are made in 3 days, now I really didn't want to compare but the TDX animation is better even if it's for a few seconds, everything animated perfectly even the mouth. The newer TDS updates are either "WE HAVE JUST INCREASED THE PRICE TO X TOWER, HOPE YOU ENJOY THE UPDATE!" or "WE WERE TOO LAZY TO DO SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY, ENJOY!", and the game is too bright like next year I will wear sunglasses to play TDS because of it's brightness. And the final part of my yapping is that the event is just shit, and why a goddamn battle pass.
Also one thing of why the updates are rushed is because of the roblox events
the reason why cutscenes tend to have these issues is likely because roblox studio has bad support for ingame cutscenes and animations. you can notice this with multiple things: the mouths just disapearing for a split sec when someones talking is because studio is basically constantly changing the image ID of the mouth which makes this occur. the animations not loading (lunar overture) seems to also suffer from roblox just not loading in the animations resulting in that goofy ahh act 1 cutscene (but this COULD also partially have to do with the way they are made since we dont see it again after that). this is also why you often dont see animations that both have more then 1 area, talking, and fight scenes. likely you'll only end up seeing 1 or 2 of these in game (for example the one in tdx only has the talking part which is why its so much smoother then the tds one which has either 2 or 3 of these). a way roblox COULD support this is by making the "video" available for public use instead of gatekeeping it to only 5 people or so, as this would allow higher quality cutscenes that are also more optimized.

every negative comment about the event always seems to have a nitpick that's so irrelevant i am at a loss for words sometimes. none also bother to elaborate what makes updates "rushed" or what makes cutscenes rushed, and only seems to give examples of PAST events instead of the PRESENT like we're stuck in 2023 or something 😶🌫️ my personal take on these types of "critiques" is that you play events with a negative mindset, always find the smallest things to nitpick on, make it seem like it makes the whole event shit and then try onto explain why (insert other TD game here) did it better.
@pylotheric9777 I have some expression problems maybe I didn't refer to something like I wanted or anything like that, while I did play some events that were the worst thing ever to man kind, I am a details lover and now I get it, I sometimes act too childish and then looking back I think that I was high but from my personal opinion it feels rushed, I also have problems to compare with the past, I do appreciate their effort but for me personally it feels rushed. I do not have any negative mindset when playing events, but after the long wait personally I was left a bit disappointed with the final results. It's my opinion, if you have a completely other opinion I respect it, if I went off subject then I'm sorry
The only people who enjoyed this event are people who didn't experience OG Frost Invasion. They ruined Frost Spirit by making him a minion. The whole lore of this event is trash.
As a og from frost invasion that joined late and only played ch1, even that was much better nothing was bugged and now years later after hearing the delays their decision was the best, now of they delay ONE singular HOUR (they got pressured by Winter Spotlight) the community goes wild, plus the new updates are making the game cartoonier than pet sim 99 lol (and I hate it, it was way better when the contrast was on a normal scale)

The comment section on eggrypteds video were not that positive as he was being too far on criticizing. He called it rushed, the event though is planned and they placed some effort into it but bugs and poor optimisation ruins it. The cutscene for me is 50/50. But the event is not really that terrible and I don't think it deserves to be called rushed in my opinion.
