    • @smurfboat
      @smurfboat 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because you need to make sure the water gallery from the water pump is sealed so that water enters the head and doesn't leak out. Also the pressure from the exhaust gases could stop the water flow if not sealed from the water gallery. Hope this helps answer your question.

    • @amyself6678
      @amyself6678 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@smurfboat Sorry for asking these basic questions, usually the carb is all I have to tinker with. Is the "Water Gallery" inside the power head, so the water comes up pipe from impeller to it, or what is the Water Gallery? And am I right that the foot below the power head the top of the leg is empty and no water, just has the drive shaft, shift rod, and the upwelling water pipe? How does exhaust exit the motor, I have to look up so much stuff, ha.

    I believe when they built M275 that the creek was narrowed and dredged to a deeper depth to specifically allow navigation by small craft (assumably to allow for easier maintenance) - it's a shame that at the time when most of the bridge structures were being modified as well as allow for the new road layout that they weren't raised to a useful height to make the route properly usable.

I'm excited 5o move from fresh water to salt water.. I will use natural seawater. But how many times to change and for how long do I need to keep the water to cycle? Too many questions...

    The national aquariums all along the coastline USE natural seawater...they just suck it right out of the location they are in. The New England Aquarium does that and I am pretty sure the Maryland and Georgia aquariums do to. This should be common sense but of course u just cant go anywhere and grab ocean water for your tanks. 😉

      You can collect any Natural Salt Water as long as it’s a clean source, meaning not around harbour or boat docks or any sewage or plant factories as there are contaminates. If you think about it where do corals and fish live... exactly in the sea, what better source of water can there be right!!!!!

    Thanks for the nice comments,After I collect the NSW I stand it for a couple of hours to let any sediment drop. I then syphon the water off into different containers, passing it through a filter sock (If I have one, if not an old pair of the mrs tights.....lol)Just to remove any floating debris (sea weed and such)I then leave the water to stand over night with a heater and an air stone to bring it up to temperature, then just put it in the tank like you would on any water change...

    Nice! thx for the footage from the stern "POV", so any opinions on the smart tabs? i.e. fuel efficiency, speed, how they deal with rough water. My small boat (18ft) is often subject to 2 to 4 ft seas and I am really considering investing in these for next summer.

    • @damieno224
      @damieno224 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry mate, but that's a load of horse shit. The truth is, these kind of tabs ONLY lift the stern, which CAN help mask or compensate for imperfect setups, usually if arse heavy or underpowered. They MAY also improve certain aspects of the ride in certain conditions. This in itself is not a bad thing - it can be great and some boats really benefit. Making up crap blanket statements like above IS a bad thing, nobody benefits. Tabs will DECREASE top speed for most all boats, unless you couldnt get on the plane in the first place, i.e underpowered. They CAN increase speed at a particular rpm by maintaining a clean plane at less speed, but insinuating they transform any boat into an offshore weapon is simply spreading misinformation.
