I hope you guys enjoy. I haven't really known where to go with the channel recently, so I figured I would just shut down the website and release the course for free. Hopefully it will help you guys out on your journey. I am still available to do 1 on 1 coachings at night if that is something you guys would be interested in.

The Best Way To Structure A Proposal For Commercial Painting
I am quoting a 33,000 square foot building, I think it’s going to need 1200 gallons of paint, 12 cases of caulk, 50 rolls of tape for masking windows, putty all nail holes, I don’t even feel like I will make much money at 2.00 a square foot, most of my repaints are 4 or 5 a square foot. This includes all ceilings as well ,3 coats new construction. I don’t think I should touch for less than 3 or 4 per square foot. It feels like a big headache, what do you think?
@@scotthester2189 I dont quote floor square footage for commercial. I always use wall square footage! Then gotta figure in trim, doors, ceilings, etc. all separate then throw em all together for a final number and see what it looks like.
Good job brother thanks for the tip ive been going around and make a list but i was a little shy to call. I will try it everyday and build up thank youu
I started finishing new cabinets for a shop recently and my pricing has been a lf price so far but would prefer an easier way to bid off of prints so looking at opening count right now. Wondering though, does your price include finishing the inside of the boxes and any end panels? I finish all end panels and lacquer inside the boxes and have been around $120 a lf. but want to make sure im comparing apples to apples before using your numbers to consider opening count
@@austinrd23 I never painted the inside of the boxes. Just the outside + front and back of doors + any edges you can see when the doors are open.
Hello, I am interested in getting in the construction industry. Is there anyway I can email you ?
sorry, a change order template, please.
can I get a copy of the proposal and change the order, please?

I live in Detroit. I charge $1 for CHB, $2 for promar 200, $3 for emerald. Usually about $500-$1000 for taping mudding and sanding, $50/sheet of drywall…. I have an entire pricing list and surprisingly I’m only a little hi on my emerald according to your math…. But it’s emerald and my best guys do the finish coat

Question brother, A commercial 11,250 SF exposed decking painted with dryfall $111.09 a gallon retail price sprayed with 2 painters $22 an hour, how much to charge for labor and material price per square foot separate amounts please. Houston Texas. Thank you and have a wonderful day!

quick question, what if the customer gives you total sq ft of the walls which are 8000 sq ft. and the ceilings are 2000 sq ft. how would i go about charging the customer with that much sq ft coverage?
@@emdieselify you could do it at your norms rate and see what it came out to be and decide if it’s worth it to you to cut your price a little bit. Say your normal number is $0.70/sf but with that much footage you can still be profitable doing it for $0.62/sf. That would be up to you.
Would that include materials for that pricing? Biddimg on a 29k sqft interior painting job and so unsure of my numbers i keep getting around 45k theres 40 doors and 1500lf of trim @TheEasiestBusiness
I will give you 25% off every contract all you gotta do is bid for caulking and waterproofing Commercial
Gold
👌🏿👌🏿
ohhhh kay brotha! I AGREE!!!
Is this estimate good for painting only? Can I do it to estimate cabinets?

Hello, I have a painting company and just started doing commercial painting. Is there a way that you can provide me with a change order template, please?
take my free proposal template and change it to "change order 01" and redo the language inside of it to be a change order. it doesnt have to be a certain fancy form as long as the GC will accept it.
😎😎 good stuff Ty bro
yes sir!
Dope! Thanks man. Could you do a video on how you find those guys outside of having to use blue book and construct connect.
if you live in a big enough city you have contractors exchanges as well. Driving around and calling to get on lists, and then you have just googling and calling to get on lists. besides that, theres word of a mouth and thats about the only ways i can think of off the top of my head.
@@TheEasiestBusiness thanks man I appreciate it. We’re plugged in now but it’s making my boss pull every last hair out on his head waiting for the first bid approval 😂😂😂😂 keep grinding man!
that some low pricing. .98 is 100% margin NOT 50%
i believe you're confusing margin with mark up. and as far as the amount being charged, its just an example. you plug in whatever numbers you want. im telling you HOW to figure, not WHAT to figure.
How do you find out what are they building in your town. What website do you use?
if you're in a big enough market you should have something called a local contractors exchange. you pay a yearly fee and the gcs upload all their projects to be bid on
Im guessing you did this for clarity in explaination, but just want to make sure. You know you can just enter the math roght in the spreadsheet, yeah? =24500*.6
Bro, whats going on with the cutting in against that frame? spaghetti lines
Thank you!
of course!
This is how I did it now I have been place in a bit list for big construction company
Good deal brother. let me know if I can help you in any way!
A better way to calculate your margin is to divide the cost. If you want 50% margin then divide .38 by .5 and you would have a true 50% mark up of .76 per square foot.
N. Alabama quote from yesterday 31 panels @ 8’ = 248 ft Both sides = 496 ft 6’ H X 496 ft = 2,976 sq ft Labor quote was $3,400 $3,400 / 2,976 = $1.14 sq ft labor cost Assuming 16 hrs = $312.50 hr labor cost Materials are $600 DIY would be $1,000ish all in. Graco Sprayer X7 is $359 ay Home Depot
Hello, I am a 19-year-old getting into the paint game on the back end. We do about 3 million in rev, with one sales/ owner. I am looking for guidance on organization, estimating, and marketing. I've noted Facebook and EDDM for Residential and having a fixed number of estimates per week. Do you use any project managing or software to stay organized?
On-Center for takeoff and bid management and then you can use any type of software like excel for tracking the bids and doing follow up.
Can you plz give an estimate on 2 story home and 2500sqft home? Stucco based. Thank you.
Interior only?
Sherwin Williams has a new 1k poly cabinet paint called Gallery. Have you tried it yet?
I have not. Have you? If so, how is it?
great info
Glad it was helpful!
How do GCs use a schedule of values? It’s more than progress payment determination. What’s funny is every sub I’ve worked for is afraid of the GC “reverse engineering” our number 😂😂😂😂 so if every division is just arbitrarily allocating costs, what good are they?
In the end as long as both GC and subs are getting paid/paying out on what they both deem a fair schedule and amount....it doesn't really matter IMO.
I've been in residential and property management (commercial) so long that I don't know what to charge on offices and buildings
Feel free to go to my website and shoot me an email/give me a call with any questions
do you charge floor square foot or or walls and ceilling squate ft? i have a client wanting to buy the painting and have a breakdown what would you do
floor for residential, individual substrate being painted for commercial
😮❤
yep!
Can this be used in a similar way to industrial?
it can, im just not as familiar with industrial
Why price by square foot instead of linear??
easier to calculate coverage rates and labor rates by square footage IMO
@@TheEasiestBusiness seems like more math to me but hey I'm a beginner so thanks for the tip
"Im going to break this down so a fifth grader will understand" proceeds to do long division
lol every bit of math in here was simple division and multiplication. If a 4 function calculator is too much to handle, maybe running a company is out of the question?
is Procore good software for commercial exterior siding?'
I have no experience with procore, but i know a ton of GC's use it!
Good Stuff!
Thank you! 🫡
Been passing up on good jobs because i dont know the biz side of painting. Im great at painting but I am ignorant with bids and how to deliver. I worked at a commercial company as a foreman and have started my own gig doing residential. It would be great to learn this and start making real money and not home to home trying to get paid.
sorry man, ive been moving and a few other things lately. finally getting back around to youtube. more than happy to do some 1 on 1 content with you (free) if I can use it for channel content
Is it necessary to have a website when doing this?
I wouldn't say so. websites are more geared toward homeowners in my opinion. commercial gc's care about you having insurance and a competitive number.
