DIY ARCHERY TARGET - EASY, FAST, FREE/CHEAP, DURABLE & SUSTAINABLE!
Here is an archery target that you can build as fast as your choice of paint will dry. Made from materials you either have at home or can get for free (I had to buy the burlap bag, but that's it).
Very easy to build, and has a very versitile use (as shown at the end of the video! DISCLAIMER: No one was shooting at me, I was the shooter. The rest was movie-magic). The plastic inside will last a really long time. After a while it becomes compact, but you can just pull it out, shift it around and start shooting again - or simply recycle it. This filler material also allows you to very easily pull out your arrows, with only two fingers.
This is an easy DIY project pretty much anyone can make.

Little Jon's Archery Journal 2023 - PART 8 Greetings friends! Today I try my hand at the events we will have in this year's National Championships in historic archery. Little Jon's Archery Journal 2023 - PART 7 Greetings friends! Today I'll share the results of the competition I mentioned in the last video before I start shooting. Little Jon's Archery Journal 2023 - PART 6 Greetings friends! Today I'm doing something a little different, and shooting at home on my homemade target instead of doing the usual 3D round. Little Jon Archer here, back at the range this time. This video doesn't quite fit in the Archery Journal playlist, so I just called it Trial end Error. Hi Jon, if it's doable, I think adding 1 or 2 small rubber loops to hold a pen or pencil would be a great addition,another idea would be to maybe redesign is in a manner that let's you keep some kind of outer shell and replace the score card inserts as you use them up. Looks great though!

    A scorebook for World archery would be pretty neat, my local 3D club shut down for good a while back so I can only shoot world archery fita target, so a scorebook for those rounds would be sweet, plus I think it would be cool if on the odd page you included some tips and tricks for archers on the field (quick way to judge distance, how to check brace height with your hand, arrow straightness by spinning in palm of hand etc) 👌

    Rain would be a big issue, when we keep a physical score book in 3d practice sessions. I am not sure about the viability of waterproof pages. Maybe you can include a cute little cover for your book. It would be nice to have little more space in the notes section to write about the take away from that particular session.

      It is indeed! All the animals are now in storage for the winter, but within a month or so, we'll get them out again and lay out a new course. Probably very similar, but we'll change the animals around and hopefully get a few different placements as well.

      Not really a selfbow, even though it looks like it is. It is in fact laminated, and made by an archer in my club. Around 45#@28". I plan to do a separate video about my bows, so stay tuned for that! I'll go into more details there 😃I also plan to make a selfbow myself later this year, and of course documenting the process😉

    Concern with zero comments out of 1k views. So caught the finger shot/range finder interesting. Yet you gloss over arrows/bows[2?] products/material and a simple pen, pencil or nocking/scarring the two arrow would have help you not reshoot. Maybe make a half dozen with a few cm longer/shorter to test. Marking 1-6 and recording results with range performance will give you a better picture. Good luck

    • @littlejonarcher
      @littlejonarcher 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for taking the time to comment, and I appreciate the tips! Not sure I understood what you meant though 😅I plan to make more videos about my equipment later, but yeah, I should have explained more about the bow (45#@28") and arrows (spruce 45-50 spine), hopefully I learn along the way😁 Regarding the number of arrows I made, I had planned to make more, but since I had a finite number og shafts, I decided to start with those two, and cut them even further if needed, and then do the final length of the remaining shafts.

    • @grumpyoldguy6117

      Has you can see even asking questions brings questions. Budgeting is always a factor; 45# with a 28 draw testing with 29? spruce 45-50 spine arrows with wght field tips. Equipment made by local archer or yourself, shafts tips? Did that local archer make the bow that disqualified your win?*** fiberglass vs non fiberglass etc
