be warned, this video is almost 9 years old - the modern day standalone DayZ you can buy on Steam plays a lot differently than what you see here

I get crashes occasionally. Usually on start of new round when I've stuck in a server for a few matches. Keep in mind Squad is still in alpha!

@@kamikazemelon787 I crash every game I join it's basically unplayable for me. Imo this should not be a problem for squad and how long are we in alpha now?

@@JamesHussey404 that sucks..hmm I imagine you've probably done a full reinstall and all that already...Try breaking down the crashlog yourself and see what it's reporting as the cause - and if you still can't fix it I would say take it to the official support from OWI and attach the logs etc, they would be able to help you more than me! I hope you get it working, it's a ton of fun and totally worth the effort to get it running.

@@kamikazemelon787 I have reinstalled it a few times now and I have verified the steam files for squad as well. I'll try see the logs or try support and yes it's a tonne of fun and thanks for the replys and help :) great vid BTW oh and mout sucks harder irl 😂

The Darris Hey man!!! thanks, I’m glad someone is enjoying them lol Combat roll or some sort of scramble thing like that would be really nice but I’m sure the realism nerds would screech hard. Still loving it, glad I got back into this game, them adding tanks and such has breathed new life into it for me

@@kamikazemelon787 I haven't played this one and probably won't. But, I hope they keep updating it. Some minor aerial support like Helos would be great or even artillery that is larger than mortars. Anyway, I hope you keep making these because this is the type of long form game-play videos I need right now. hahaha. Take care buddy!

Etakon noted, i like at least a little but it’s definitely heavy duty in Squad. Having a checkbox instead of a slider sucks. I think I’ll look into possible .ini tweaks or whatever but I think I’ll just end up turning it off. Still pretty new so I’m honing in the right config for me.

Thanks! Yes it will come down to practice and experience. The Ferrari 312T had been a huge learning experience for me in terms of smoothness and braking; basically a revelation. Before that I would rarely downshift while braking, which thinking about it now was incredibly dumb of me. With a bit of finesse I'm hoping I can break 1:50 with this setup. As with any old F1 car, they accelerate like they were stung by a wasp, but the aero and the brakes are very primitive, which gives it that super exciting seat of the pants feeling that I love. Strong downforce and huge carbon-ceramic ABS brakes sort of kill the joy in my mind. A V12 revving to like 12k rpm doesn't hurt either...

eight years later I watch this video and cringe, locking up the brakes constantly and backing off of too-early turns, it’s just sloppy. I’ve gotten a lot better I swear!
