The Counting Crows were a big part of the soundtrack of many kids' lives in the early to mid-90s. I love this song and sing it whenever I'm sad. It always magnifies the sadness for the few minutes I'm singing it, but when I'm done, even if the sadness remains, I always feel like some of the weight has been taken off. This is a song I've always really loved, and it's an important song on many levels. Now that I'm older I can't sing it like I used to, so I changed keys and played with the tuning a bit. It feels a lot different than the original now, but I kind of like it. It suits my current perspective on life a bit better.
