Nice looking ol saw. The 61 is one of the best firewood saws Husqy made.
@@902hand7 yessir
That's not a 61 cylinder if the the intake has flange is bolted on. Looks like it's a 266 cylinder from what I could see.
The top of the cylinder looks like a 61... I'll have to measure the bore and check the numbers on the cylinder.
Nice Chainsaw Greetings from Germany Peter 😎 Husqvarna-Pit
Thank you! Cheers!
@RichFife Cheers
I love a 288. Tough as hell. Hard to find in a low top. I like the response the high top air cleaner gives tho 🤔🤷
@JeffreySimundson I'll have to find a top cover for it... so you'd recommend a high top cover? I love the looks of the low cover but at the end of the day, it's about what helps them cut better.

@@Aaron_A_Lynch these are bad little mamajamas!
Sounds like a great dealer! Is that the third 461? Lol
@@ToasterrBath something like that. ;-)

Wolf creek is great
@justinweaver8107 Yes, they are!!!!
Is your son okay
@DavidFisher-zm7rp in what aspect? He doesn't like working out or having to spot me... but, if he hears me lifting/benching he will come out and spot. 🤷♂️
Too phuqen strong Richard. Benching over 300 pounds is strong man territory. Not much of the population is that strong. Even a genuine strong framed guy might not have the capability for a bench of that weight. Got me wanting to google average strength. Or Rich.....
@@metalandwood4u my goal is to get back to over 400#'s but, being in my late 40s... age isn't helping. Lmao when I was in the Military, I benched 405 for an easy 5 reps in Bahrain... 🤔 apparently I'm living in my past moments... its motivation. 🤷♂️
@RichFife im 6'2", im fat/over weight. Im stronger than the average guy. I have freinds that are much stronger. But i dont recall ever over 245......not even in my prime, the 2 at 45 each end plus a 45 bar. Hell that only makes 225. Maybe i had some little 10s too. Yeah, you can get over the 400 again if you put your mind to it. My goal is simply drop my big gut again.....might as well start AGAIN now.
@metalandwood4u I'm 5'9" 224# when I was 185# I was benching 405 for reps... I was busy as a child, firewood, construction, helped on farms, etc. Then sports... basketball, baseball, football, track, wrestled open tournaments, boxing, and bodybuilding, and i was a personal trainer... needless to say, I was extremely fit and strong when I was younger... fast fwd some decades and the youth, energy, recovery and strength have all taken a back-seat to where my mind wants to go. 🤣 🤷♂️ I can't definitely say... I have a tendency to think about things 'a little' more than what I did when I was young. Ahahaha February, I'll start working on losing my gut... more cardio, less carbs and fat, more activity... smaller meals just more off them... should be interesting after 3 months.
@RichFife awesome we can feed off each other on gut loss. Good luck.
@metalandwood4u yessir
I'm also left handed 😅

Hell ya man! That thing sounds wicked!
It's not too bad... needs more POWA
That's beautiful!
If you set the compound at 29.5° you make the cut on the leading edge of the tool as it is correct. The following edge only cuts .5°. just enough to insure the tool holds the 60° thread form. All this provided you are using the compound for depth of thread. Using the cross slide means you are cutting 30° on each side of the tool while cutting pressure is not equal on each side of the tool. They really need to bring machine shop back to the vocational schools.
For what this is for, I wasn't too worried about the thread profile... for important or critical threads such as class 3a threads, I'll set the compound at 29.5* using triq calculations. This way, I know it's set 100% accurate... as you seen, I was cutting straight depth... again, on critical threads, I'd be using slant depth for reduced tool pressure etc. Lol I agree, vocational/trade schools NEED to be brought back... 100%

Nice work
@@BuckYaSaws Thank you
That’s a great camera angle.
@@BuckYaSaws I figured I'd change it up for you guys.
@ there is just a simple enjoyment with making chips. You a machinist by trade? You do great machine work!
@BuckYaSaws yes. I started off as a Machinist Repairman in the Military, worked with an old school millwright, and eventually became a Tool and Die guy.
@ that’s pretty cool man! I’ve been watching you nail the machine work on that hybrid & chaining the wrist pin diameter on that piston.
@BuckYaSaws yeah, if that saw runs strong in the wood, I'll probably modify a couple more pistons to have as spares for it...

@@tylerheard1279 it's Kinetix full synthetic.
This hybrid build has been cool to follow along!
@BuckYaSaws thanks man. Glad you like it.
That’s a sweet deal.
@BuckYaSaws yessir. All have issues but I have enough parts to where I can make a complete saw for pennies on the dollar. I love saving "junk" parts and putting life back into them.
Sounds rowdy Rich
@902hand7 I think this one will be OK. Modify the intake and do some tweaks here and there and it'll be a decent runner. 😉
Sounds wicked! Seeing you do this build has opened my mind up to new possibilities! SOMEDAY im gonna pony up and buy a 52mm wiseco piston, send my sachs dolmar 120si OEM cylinder to dyno joe and have him bore/sleeve it for that piston :) take it from 49mm to 52mm, if thats even possible (i sure hope so!)
@Magoot2456 yessir, thays what this is about... getting people to explore, try new things, and learn while doing it. I'm constantly learning new things, theories, etc... I'm not familiar with Dolmar saws... maybe one day I'll dive into them.
Stihl has historically had very restricted exhaust on the pro saws for sure
