Fife and drum content, with sheet music for your own benefit, focusing mainly on the late 18th century and the Napoleonic Wars.
Grenadier March (1807); Fife and Drum sheet music
The Grenadier March (or Grenadier Marsch in standard German orthography today), as written in 1807 (not to be confused with the much more popular Grenadier-Marsch 1791).
So I know you urchins have a decent interest in Bavarian stuff (something related to a video game I think?), but strangely, the document this march comes from seems to simply not come up in any sort of discussion about Bavarian fife and drum (I guess this source just got unlucky). For your benefit, here it is: the "Ordonanz Auf Tromel und Pfeiffen für die bürgl. Infanterie, Schützen und Artillerie des Königreichs Baiern" (www.digitale-sammlungen.de/de/view/bsb11140218?page=,1). This is an 1807 manual, with a decent number of duty calls and marches, and it seems like a good idea to let you know of its existence (especially since most discussion tends to revolve around "Altbayrische und churpfälzische Militärmärsche und Signale", a document from 1916).
My four "images of general interest" in this video are simply uniform plates from the Vinkhuijzen collection of military uniforms, in the timeframe of 1805-1809, also included on the left of frame is the entire "Grenadier March" page from the ordinance itself.

I think this video made me realize that the fife/drum corps I commissioned may be arranging the wrong song. I wanted the American Grenadier's March from Charles Stewart Ashworth's manuscript. They sent me a MIDI file of their arrangement, and it sounds a lot more like this, than it does the American Grenadier's March. Edit: Upon just comparing the two manuscripts, they are legit the same song with mostly the same notes. I am an idiot.

I`m pretty sure the song name is actually "La Diana" I could be wrong though. Correct me if so.
The source I used for this video (Kastner's Manuel General de Musique Militaire) specifically lists this as "La Diane ou Rigodon", and most other sources will cite this as "La Diane"
