Attempted to start at -33f. Machine has never been a great starter. I’m trying to figure out its limits as well as any tricks there might be to starting it. I think if I had went right to the jump pack it might have started. Also could have given it some gas but didn’t want to flood it. I don't know what is going on when it sputters. Voltage Sensitive Relay

This is an excerpt from my Modifications Part 2 that just talks about the Voltage Sensitive Relay I installed one my sled. The relay allows you to charge a second battery while you are running around but then acts as an isolator once the engine is turned off. If you run your accessories, like a Vexilar, off of the second battery you will never drain your starting battery. Another plus is that y...

Continuation of Part 1. Shows details of the Voltage Sensitive Relay I installed as well as the box change out process. UPDATE: Recommend installing a disconnect or manual breaker between battery and VSR. The VSR is always on and continually drains a small amount of power. It was enough to permanently kill my battery dead this off season.

    Your shower is genius. Simple space saving ideas. Solutions that are simple, are the best, in my opinion and experience. I have lived in a Ford Transit van for five years. I may copy your shower solution 😊

    Is it not under sized I was thinking tanks need to cycle 5-10 an hour at 300 and a 75 gallon tank that only 4 times

    Instead of cutting into the trim og the aquarium, you could add an acryllic plate with matching holes. the spacer plate needs to be as thick as the trim.

    Not sure where you all camp, but I have yet to camp somewhere that allows the dumping of grey water onto the ground. I love your shower, but if I built a shower like that I would have to use a grey water portable tank to capture the water and then dump it at a dump station. I would also put it under the exhaust fan to pull the moisture away. Is it too difficult to get insulation in the ramp door?

    • @jackpinebearcat1845
      @jackpinebearcat1845 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, a tub can placed under the drain if necessary. The ramp door is two layers of heavy aluminum. I did end up insulating it by using foam and plywood just on the inside.

    Nice and simple build. You do lose some storage area below by totally covering the bottom section. You could have cubbies in there to store your tie down straps and other items.

    • @jackpinebearcat1845
      @jackpinebearcat1845 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. We haven't pursued "maximum storage". Figured we'd add storage as we need it but really haven't yet. We can spend 2 weeks on the road pretty comfortably.

      @@jackpinebearcat1845I know it kind of defeats the KISS concept, but that space would be ideal for pillows and bedding…another piano hinge (actually just a few short sections) to allow the panel to lay down on the floor and bungee cord to secure the bedding in place against the board and a magnet or slide bolt to keep it in place when folded up against the base of the bed.

    That is the best conversion I’ve seen on here. Very simple yet FUNCTIONAL!! Keeping it simple is the way to go. I see too many people trying to cram every comfort possible into one of these. The idea is to be comfortable at a reasonable price on trips and save money. Love the shower idea.

    Do the fold down legs have a brace holding them in place ? or do they not need one. great job!

    • @jackpinebearcat1845
      @jackpinebearcat1845 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did add a brace, basically a board with a notch in each end that locks the two legs together when they are down. I don't think it is really needed though. We slide totes underneath the bed and I thought maybe we'd knock a leg loose without it.

    Can you please give me the dimensions and diagrams of your Murphy bed? I would love to have that thank you very beautiful cargo trailer.

    • @jackpinebearcat1845
      @jackpinebearcat1845 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dimensions and diagrams would require a plan, which I did not have! The dimensions that were important were the height, to allow our totes to slide underneath, and the depth of the side benches to make sure we could sit on them like couches. Other than that I planned, measured, and cut as I went along. Thank you for the feedback, we are still super happy with the trailer.

    Good video, I am working on a 6'x10' at the moment, and like yourselves take many tips from gonagain. I also need the trailer for bikes and if needed cargo, so the the tiny house idea with to much in a small space is not for me. You have done a fantastic build, and good luck in your travels.
