Great dream sequence, from a director with a great imagination, in the age before computers ruined everything. Great article on this movie in Cinefex Number 38: www.cinefex.com/backissues/issue38.htm
waw !!
This is what David Bowie dreams about.
Well, this is the guy who directed Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas oddly enough...

@snakeboyguam10 Nudity.
This film looks like a complete Head Fuck. I feel weirded out just by watching this much!
I don't see how this movie is rated R. I find it more PG 13 ish.
@TRAJOO Yes, actually! My degree is in animation and this movie inspired my latest project. It also convinced me to read "1984" by George Orwell, which heavily influenced this movie.
@PTSmash well said man, you in film or something?
@PTSmash Yeah i totally see it. Thanks.
First time I watched this I knew that the samurai represented the system and the towers the tight borderlines it established. But when Sam killed him and saw his own face behind the mask I thought for a split second they were ripping off Star Wars. You know, when Luke thinks he's fighting Vader and sees his own face behind the helmet. My guess is that Sam knows he's part of the system and the battle represents his inner struggle of whether to serve it or go against it.
it's ironic, originally this was just supposed to be one large dream sequence. but due to costs and time, they had to be spaced apart. kinda worked better that way in my opinion
Thanks--just what I need for my essay :)
