Patti Warashina - Reflections on 50 Years of Work
มุมมอง 9324 ปีที่แล้ว
This video explores the work of Patti Warashina. I have selected pieces that I admire and feel represent her well as a ceramic artist. My responses are based on what I see in the work, rather than on an artist's statement or critic's review. This video is intended to be an overview of her work rather than a critical analysis of a few pieces. That said, what I show is only a fraction of her enti...

Ohhhh how interesting on how to make a basket weave ❤ thank you
Thank you so much for this video Eric! It has helped me so much 🩵
Much appreciated, I did exactly what you said and it worked perfectly. You are such a good teacher, thank you.
Epic I’m almost smiling
Kate Malone is mainly a hand builder and she coils most of her large pieces. She doesn’t throw many pieces and if she does use thrown forms she will get a potter who is skilled at throwing to create them but it is not often. Her skill as a hand builder is very impressive. If you watch her mini series on TH-cam you can watch her work on some of her pieces and her technique.
Great video, thanking you for getting right to it. One question, out of curiosity, why make the last slab the bottom? I thought it would be easier to seal the inside joints with a "shorter" wall. Or is it too wonky having just been added where the original bottom has been sitting/joined for a bit?
Thank you.
Very informative and thorough! Thank you so much.
Great explanation ✔️
Awesome tutorial. Thank you, Eric.
What a great demonstration!
this is a real master class
I made my 1st wall pocket after watching your video and I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge.
I have learnt so much from this, thank you!
Can you please please please do a video on how to make a tealight house? Please🙏🙏🙏
It was awesome. Thanks again❤ I really want to try and do this.
I am watching this as a relax session😅 thank you Mr.! It's really joyful to watch a master's work

Eric Wall! Thank you for teaching ceramics to me in high school. It’s still one of my favorite art forms and gave me an escape from the chaos in my home. Thank you ❤
Beautiful work thank you so much fpr sharing your knowledge with us!
How thick is the slab?
Wonderful presentation!
Lovely
How many of that shirt do you have? 😁. I love the boxes!
You taught me so much! Thank you.
Excellent thanks 😊
I enjoyed this demo very much and look forward to trying it. Many thanks!
Omg you make it look so easy. I’m to heavy handed but I’m definitely going to try doing it your way and be a lot more gentle
Спасибо большое за мастер класс. Уважаю Ваше мастерство и труд.
Wish i watched you before making the box
is there a lot of grog/chamotte in your clay?
Thank you, I learned a lot from this video! 😊 I’m watching this after my first attempt
Thank you so much for explaining step by step why you were doing what you were doing. I had never tried using newspaper to wrap my slabs to dry them but will be trying that on my next project>
Awesome work, hope you come back.😊
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
Anyone have tips on getting the thickness of the slabs the same?
Thank you for explaining each step thoroughly. I'm a beginner and got so much out of this episode. I look forward to seeing all your other tutorials.
Eric, that was a really comprehensive lesson in slab box making. I am interested in making such boxes but using Air Dry clay. Will these methods work with that type of clay? Thank you for any advice you can give me. God bless you.
I would think so. Give it a try. :)
Excellent video with so many details…..thank you so much…
I have wanted to learn how to do boxes and found you. You have given wonderful and detailed instructions. It would have been much more difficult figuring this out for myself. You are a great instructor.
I love all of your videos. I’ve spent my entire morning watching the all!! I see your stools in the back and I see the same shape you’re making in them. I wonder if they would work better for your stabilizer!! Just a thought. Also adhering a yard stick behind the extruder is really helpful!!!
This is absolutely incredible!! You should be teaching seminars!! You have soo much knowledge!!!!
I have watched several of your videos and noticed that you don’t ever compress the clay with a rib. I have been handbuilding for two years and I have found that I have some warping issues and was told to compress with a rib to help with that. What do you suggest? I just want to tell you that your teaching is absolutely incredible and I ask you to keep making tutorials!!! I wish there were more to watch. Thanks so much.
ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT TUTORIAL. THANK YOU!!!
WOW!! I didn’t think anyone would add anything to know about making boxes that I haven’t seen before but wow I learned soo much. Using the ribbon tool instead of making a snake is just genius!!!
🥰😍😘
This was the best tutorial I've seen so far. Thank you very much.
Well planned video with very succinct directions that were easy to follow!
Absolutely wonderful tutorial..so many thanks.
