Yoder YS640 Fan Upgrade
We got this awesome Yoder YS640 Smoker but there is a fan upgrade to allow better air flow and reduce noise. We decided to go ahead and upgrade the fan. I know this is off the general for our "W" Farmstead videos but replacing a fan in a smoker or in farm equipment, still makes it interesting. Come join us.

    Hi Wes, thanks for your videos. I picked up a Ford 1920 and Woodland Mills WC68 myself just about a year ago, and have been loving both. I see that you’re using Pat’s quick hitch system - I’ve read that some folks need to buy a new, longer top link after installing these hitches. Did you need to replace your 1920’s top link to accommodate Pat’s QH? Any other issues with this particular QH system on the 1920? Thanks in advance.

    • @TheWFarmstead
      @TheWFarmstead 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I didn't have to replace my top link, it works perfectly with the Pat's. The Pat's is awesome, would buy it again in a heart beat. The reason I got it is because I have implements that are not quick hitch compatible and Pat's bridges the gap perfectly. The only thing I did have to do was purchase the following for the PTO since the Pat's addition pushes the PTO out 4 inches. Below is the link to what I purchased. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be of more help with the top link. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FRHQU6I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Thanks for the video! I have an 88' 1920 with about 1200 hours on it, I also have a newer Kubota and I prefer the hydraulics on the Ford much better, it's easier to control the bucket lift and tilt, also the Shibaura Ford is much more stable than the Kubota that gets really tippy with a load on it. the 1920 has been a great machine, I can't tell you how many times people have tried to buy it from me! I changed out the hydraulic fluid a while back and didn't know the dealer gave me the wrong filter! it gave me fits until I finally found out that they used 2 different filters for different manufacture dates! check your serial numbers, thanks again, Dale

    Looks like a productive attachment! I have a lot of bush honeysuckle on my farm (some 6” diameter at the main trunk) that have grown thick on the edges of the row crop fields. Been looking at the Jenkins skeleton grapple for removing them. I know the puller would work but the bushes are so large you’d have to crush them down to reach the center trunk to pull. Thinking grapple could crush them down and then grub out. Grapple also has advantage of carrying multiple bushes to burn pile at once. I know you have both attachments…. I’d be interested and appreciative of your thoughts of which is better for my job. I’d be running attachments on 66HP track skidsteer. (Maybe I need both attachments eventually). Thanks !!

    • @TheWFarmstead
      @TheWFarmstead 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Honestly, I think the Danuser would work better with getting out these bushes you are talking about. You can knock off the lower branches and you can also grab part of the bush and pull it out. Once you get into the trunk of the bush, it's all over for the bush. The Danuser is so versatile from digging roots to pushing, pulling and lifting the bush out. It is so much fun using the attachment. The bad part is as you said, you will not be able to carry your pile back to a centralized area without a grapple. I think in time you will want both of these attachments, you can't go wrong. Let me know how it goes and thanks for the comment. Have a great week!

    Hi, iooiking at this exact grapple by Jenkins with the 3” time spacing. What are your thoughts on it now after using it for a year? One of my main grapple uses will be grubbing bush honeysuckle around perimeter of row crop fields. Also, all around use on farm. Maybe their dedicated root grapple would be better but doesn’t seem to be as handy for all around use. Your thoughts? Thank you for any insight you can offer.

    • @TheWFarmstead
      @TheWFarmstead 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have both a clamshell and this skeleton grapple. The Clamshell is for my Kubota B2601. It is really hard to pick between the two grapples. The skeleton is fantastic for scooping brush, rocks and dirt then shaking to sift the dirt out. That is such an asset to have and use when cleaning up areas. The clamshell is great for doing the same but it is not as good at doing the job. The clamshell works great for grabbing brush piles and cleaning up downed trees. I can see having both grapples. I can tell you, the B2601 always has the Grapple on it and we use it more because of that. I think both are great and no tractor or Skid steer should ever be sold without one. Good luck, thanks for the comment and have a great week!

    Stihl is the king! I purchased a used ms291 that was sitting outside for like 5 years.....brand new Saw, owner did One job with it, left it for dead, or Lost the saw in the woods.....anyways, I literally put fresh gas, fired Right up.....fuel lines, everything were still fresh, tank was completely sealed tight after many years of sitting in the elements.....the plastics were baked really bad, had some cracks like a tree fell on it, or was Run over(like I said, maybe someone lost it deep in the woods)......but the engine has Insane compression, it literally runs new, LOL.

      Wow, that was a fantastic find! My uncle had an 029 and I had an 039. Those saws were like little Sherman Tanks and cut a lot of wood. Thanks for the response and have a safe Holiday!

    Hey there! That is an Ash tree if seeing it correctly. I’ve taken several out on my property due to being killed by the emerald ash borer beetle.

      That is great to know what tree that was, we do not have many of them in this area. That beetle has done a lot of damage and it is sad. Thanks for the response and information!

    Do You Happen To Know The Part Number For The Starter ?

    • @TheWFarmstead
      @TheWFarmstead 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The core starter part number I found is SBA185086530C. If you go to Messicks.com and look in the New Holland Parts area, they have the parts Diagrams. The are also a big help if you call them. Hope this helps! Thanks and have a great week!

    Do you think a this tractor would handle a 1000lb bushhog? I have a new holland 1920 and looking at getting a woods bb600x 5ft

    • @TheWFarmstead
      @TheWFarmstead 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 3 point lift capacity for the 1920 is in the neighborhood of 1500 lbs. And with this being a 5 ft. woods brush cutter, I would say yes. I had a King Kutter 6 ft. Rotary cutter and it was a little much for the tractor, especially in tall grass. I now have a LandPride RCR1860 5 ft. medium duty Rotary cutter and it performs so much better than the 6 ft. Cutter. Good luck and thanks for the reply!

      My brother in law mowed a mountain of tall weeds and hay for a couple seasons with our 1920 using a 5' land pride bush hog and really did a number on the clutch, trans / synchronizer and pilot bearing. So beware. Great little tractor though
