The mandate of the Gauteng Department of Economic Development (GDED) is to facilitate, promote economic growth and development in the Province, with a targeted commitment to focus on enhancing inclusivity of the economy, while not neglecting to improve its competitiveness. Its vision is “A radically transformed, modernised and reindustrialised economy in Gauteng, manifesting decent work, economic inclusion and equity”.
