I have the same washer. It doesn’t seem like during wash cycle it’s giving enough water. All the water is coming in through the back of the washer. Wasn’t sure if whole bar should be spraying water…
3/24/23 ... my 2010 model LG WM2050CW had a leak in the same area as in this video. However my soap dispenser trays' drain tube to tub was perfectly clean. I never found out what is causing the leak but I caulked the area where the soap tray connects to the front panel and that stopped it! I believe it is a design flaw and there should have been a gasket on the backside of the front panel connecting to the soap dispenser tray!
I believe i have the same exact same machine from the look of it and the writing on it, doing the same thing today. Leaked into my kitchen from upstairs and came through my can lights. I had half inch of water in laundry room and hall. Terrible mess. Probably 8 gallons of water I sucked up with a rug doctor. I cleaned the dispenser but feel the tube may be clogged. This is helpful. Looks like an easy fix.
Wow washers not leaking from the front, having problems with water backing up in my fabric softener dispenser but I often see those pieces of gunk and was wondering where they came from. Thanks for the video!
I've been my LG's bitch for 2 years, cleaning it regularly and wiping it down, keeping the door open. The son of a bitch still got clogged up and started leaking out of the soap tray area anyway. Fuck this brand.
Yes Thank You! I removed the house and found a small laundry cap blocking the opening. It must have fallen into the detergent drawer and worked it’s way through the hose.
Using your video as a guide, I just located and removed the cap liner from a bleach bottle which was lodged in the black bellows. Funny thing is this obstruction would switch positions like a valve each time it encountered water flow from the soap dispenser tray. The result was gushing water from the tray or no problem at all. But there was no soap buildup at all anywhere in the system.
I have a leak in the same spot. Going to try this fix first. Thank you! Not sure that I have the same issue, however. My washer leaks once, then is ok for a while, then leaks again a few weeks later. Spilled gallons of water, because we didn't notice it right away.
No, actually, it was the fact that a cardboard liner from inside of a softer bottle, accidentlally fell into the tray, and worked its way into the fill system, which actually funnels down to the size of a dime, or so. The cap would block during fill some times, and other times was lodged so as to allow water to pass. Crazy, I know, but that was my issue. Fixed now, and thank you so much!
You pnly have to unscrew the bottom screw in the bracket to slide the lid off.
Thank you
Thank you this helped me fix the issue
Thank you for this video. Managed to fix the water running out of the dispenser drawer for my washing machine after watching.
Good work!
Work like a charm had to use a wire brush scrubber and a hook to get all that gunk out no more leaks

Right back at ya!
Same problem, thanks
It's still leaking even after cleaning it
If it’s leaking from the tray, something is preventing water from flowing into the drum. Double check, something must be in there. Good luck!
Thanks Luke! Saved me a maintenance call.
You got it!

Cool, good work diagnosing it.
Haha. For me it was 3/4 of a plastic soap cap staring at me when I removed that hose. Thanks for taking the time to post this video
