Welcome to my channel!! I’m so happy that you decided to check out my videos! I created Vintage Cookery to show that recipes that have been passed down through generations still deserve a spot on your table. All of the recipes I make come from vintage cookbooks (primarily from North Carolina). So let's get cookin' and have some fun while doing it!
Vintage Recipe: Lemonade Cookies // Delicate And Delicious
Hello! Today’s vintage recipe is lemonade cookies! I was excited to try this recipe since the weather is heating up for summer. I hoped this cookie would be buttery and refreshingly sour from the lemonade concentrate, but I found the lemonade flavor very slight. Even though the lemonade flavor wasn’t strong, the cookie was still delicious. The recipe makes a very delicate, buttery cookie. Perfect for a tea party or a simple dessert. If you want to increase lemon flavor, I suggest adding some lemon zest to the sugar sprinkled at the end.
Original 1978 Recipe:
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
6 oz. frozen lemonade, thawed
Preheat oven to 400℉. Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Sift flour and baking soda together. Stir flour mixture into batter alternately with ¼ cup lemonade. Drop by teaspoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheets, placing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 minutes, until edges are brown. Remove from oven. While still on cookie sheet, brush lightly with remaining lemonade and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Makes 4 ½ dozen.

Vintage Recipe: Hermit Cookies // Holiday Cookie Series #2
มุมมอง 612ปีที่แล้ว
Today’s vintage cookie recipe is hermit cookies! A questionable name for a cookie but a delicious recipe. I learned that the name is due to the flavors of the cookie being best after being stored (hidden away) for a few days. The spices used in this recipe are warm and make the flavor of the cookie more complex. The only thing I didn’t like about the cookie is the use of raisins, but that is ju...

Vintage Recipe: Orange Marmalade Bread // Bright And Citrusy
มุมมอง 460ปีที่แล้ว
This week's recipe is an orange marmalade bread! I want to try my hand at baking bread this winter and I thought this recipe would be easy to start with. I think the recipe did a good job of explaining things and the flavor was bright and citrusy. However, I think I overmixed the batter and the bottom got a little too brown, but I’m happy with the end result considering it was my first attempt ...

I'm not a fan of Sugar but I would love to try these. I love the crispy brown edges. MERRY CHRISTMAS Vintage COOKER.
Merry Christmas!!! ☃️
The "off flavor" might come from the cream of tartar. That's the ingredient that gives snickerdoodles their tangy flavor.
I was thinking that! I've never had a cookie with cream of tartar so I wasn't sure if that was a factor to the flavor 🤔
❤❤ looks good... Have you tried this with chocolate mix ? Thank you for the Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄

🤣 love this!
I grew up with homemade banana pudding. And it was made from scratch. The custard was made from scratch cooked over the stove top. There was no whip cream of any sort involved and the best part was to eat the banana pudding while it was still warm. I’ve never heard of a recipe That you are presenting here
Thanks for the comment! The best thing about banana pudding is that there are so many ways to make it! What you described sounds yummy and is certainly a popular way to make it. The recipe I made is also yummy and (where I'm from at least) is one of the only ways you find it. If you look into the history of banana pudding you will find even more variations as well! Have a nice day!
Karen, I wholeheartedly agree! Southern banana pudding has been around longer than anything in a box!
