He said my late father is proud of the man I have become and I need to figure 8 after every cast when fishing for Muskie! Nature will always test you, whether its picking up garbage floating in the water, saving an animal that is asking for help, or even helping a shore fisherman get his lure off a tree when kayaking... Do you usually catch your musky higher up or near the bottom?
I erased my original comment chastising you for showcasing to the entire world where we fish at since at this point between You, John and Luke the cats out of the bag and everyone and their girlfriend is fishing down there thanks to everyone trying to be the next TH-cam sensation lol🤦🏻🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 So now im just going to buy a fcking boat so i dont have to watch a bunch of rookies catch our Muskie and let them flop all over the rocks and beat themselves up which will eventually result in God only knows how many dead fish plus i wont have to worry about getting the cops called on me anymore when i chase the assholes in $100,000 bass boats off who insist on floating up and fishing DIRECTLY on top of where we're fishing from shore anymore. Just know this, if i see you out there in the Yak youre gonna eat my wake sucka!!! 🛥️🌊 🛶😰 (I kid i kid-or do I?🤔) 😘😉🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is Muskie trolling usually that fast (4mph)?
depending on water temp. Summer time yes. Some guys like to do 5 plus on the boats.
Just watched a bunch of your videos, really great! I have a boat and Im big into walleye, perch and even the occasional silver fish, but this coming year I’m committed to learning Muskie fishing.
Very addicting. Takes the smallmouth right out of you!
badass man
thanks Dalton!
Nice fish man!
thanks!

what's the red remote to looks like my minn kota terrova remote but I tried looking for the red rubber grips and don't see any
its for my autopilot minn kota
Sweet slide!
that's gonna leave a mark
Sweet!
How long does that 38v 55ah battery run for? Looking to get a similar battery for running in light to moderate river current
it is a great battery. i have not yet run out of power fishing all day
Where can I find the la glider perch glide bait at??? any help would be greatly appreciated! and nice vid im started to get out trying to catch a musky and these tips on baits are great!!
i found it on line but the site may be down now. i was told they went out of business
You run the ap and newport at the same time?
sometimes, yes. i dont run both at max power...75% on the newport and 8 max on the AP
I have a Daiwa Prorex 400 8.1 and a Tranx 400 8.1. There is no comparison.. the Daiwa is way better.. it's smoother,, cast 2X as far effortlessly,, has 33 lbs of drag compared to the tranx 18. Line winds on better because of the T- wing system. Plus the Daiwa has magnetic anti backlash. Hard to backlash either reel. They both have 50 lb power pro V2 slick line , and both are used for trophy size striper in rivers throwing big swim and glide baits. The Tranx also goes from almost no drag on the star to full drag within like 2 or 3 clicks. There is hardly any midrange in between adjustment. I bought both reels new. The Prorex is louder on the star clicks, and the drag setting is a much wider range in between
I like how easy the Prorex is to clean as well.
Can you drop your rod and reel combo that you used in this video?
rod is a St Croix Victory VTS610MLXF Reel is a Vanford C3000XG
@@MCYakFishing thanks bro
You were the angel in the scenario. That pigeon was swimming with the sharks l whew!
HAHA! Sweet beginning to the video, Mike. I was laughing pretty good. What a PERFECT time to have the 360 camera. Captured the event so well, man. HAHA! Awesome ending as well.
you were laughing at my 0-2 bites? That hurts Bryan
How deep of water are you in there?
Would’ve been sweet to see a musky take it down!
boo
How about instead of all these baits you bring a damn mat to lay the muskies on instead of just throwing them in grass and mud?
Haven't seen that method actually. There are Musky everywhere in Lake St Clair. Everyone of the 66 ski's I have caught since the addiction started 3 years ago, have swam away nicely!
i see you have a new profile pic now. Nice catch
That was nice of you to save him, I saved a turtle on the road a few days ago.
that a boy
Yessir! Awesome
that was an absolute blast!
So awesome! Congrats dude
thanks bro. gonna get that 52 plus on the yak soon!
Meat!
Well done👍. Fishing that lake in a kayak… Hardcore!
blessed!
Making the fish of 1000 casts lookin easy to catch.
my best streak so far was 25 skis in 2 months (Nov and Dec 2021) we have an amazing fishery near Lake St Clair Metro Park! Keep Casting!
Sweet!
What battery amp hour are you running ? How long can you fish on it ?
using the 3855ah Li time and it goes all day!
Nice
I’m getting a kayak this upcoming spring. I live 10 minutes from lake stclair and Erie. Top water is the only method I haven’t caught a bass or pike on yet and it looks to be the funnest!
let me know when your going out!
@@MCYakFishing Will do! I’m thinking of the pelican mode 110. I’m in Windsor Ontario so I have lake stclair and Erie very close. My sister lives up north Ontario where it’s catch a pike or small mouth every cast. I really can’t wait to get one
If you pull up the motor does it clear the water?
not 100 percent but its high enough to launch for sure. it barely is below the surface
What a day nice video
thanks. hope to see you out there!
@@MCYakFishing most definitely man soon as it cools off early October is the time
I'm going to pick some up this year. Good idea using the toothpick for the application.
Stinger hook is money. When I fished with Lucas pretty much every fish was caught on that stinger hook.
I've never fished for Smallies with live bait.
golden shiners are bass candy!
Nice video. I don't use the Pop R enough. I still throw my Whopper Plopper with a spinning reel 😂
"rip lipper" 🤣🤣 Dammit!
As if your Facebook page and your constant Atta-boys from John at Sportsmen Direct werent bringing enough Googans down to the old Muskie Hole, ya just had to go and make a TH-cam channel now too eh Mike? Between you and Lucas letting everyone and their mom know where we fishThis fall will surely be nuts and big swinging dicks too butts at the Ol Spillway for sure! Oh the fun we will have! 🍆 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Just givin you alittle 💩 Michael, i was out there last week all night long, had a blanket spread out waiting for you too show up after I had Luke text you that i would be there. I was super disappointed when you didnt show up with your big rod and plastics. Ill just have to wait a couple more months to spend some quality time with my old buddy again i suppose. (Bout damn time you finally posted this, geez!) 🎣💥 🦈
i thought you said DNR closed spillway fishing in the fall? lol.
I wish I never did that show about sturgeon.. Now everyone is out fishing for them.... Charters, and the average Joe... Been 20 years, and people are exploring the hell out of them.... More sturgeon casualties then have before. N
my channel is too small right now to make a big impact. I see Sturgeon on all Johns reports since the opening. 318 views compared to 5000.
That smallie looked like a good eater!
I cant eat every smallmouth i catch, there wont be any left for the rest of you!
@@MCYakFishing sure
Nice!!!!! 🤙💥
Tiger, lets get together and set some hooks!
Thanks for getting me on some anchor bay smallies. The new yak setup is saweeet!
always a pleasure cousin!
What kind of trailer do you use for it.
that one was a converted jet ski trailer.
i just bought a duel Malone trailer
That thing is so sweet. It was nice knowing you and Lucas, I’ll never be able to keep up NOW! 😂
i have lucas' now, anytime you wanna taker out for a spin!
Ok, Mike. So I’m eating a Smallie right now. OMG! So good. I’ve been lied to my whole life.
i think Lucas is eating smallie today too.
next we try Drum!
@@MCYakFishing I can’t follow you down that road, Mike. 😂
Keep it in the water 🤦♂️
you mean like your profile pic?
Nice work fellas!
never heard of the pop it let it fall tecnique at the shoreline, thanks man! the whole time I was waiting to see a jerkbait getting casted. how deep is the spillway?
its all man made so pretty consistent drop-offs. 13-14ft down the middle and deeper in some spots. I found a 16ft hole in there.
@@MCYakFishing Awesome thanks!
I have an Autopilot 120 and fish for musky. Trolling scares me with the stock plastic tracks. Might upgrade to the aluminum ones. Have you ever had a problem? Would hate to have the rod holder ripped out. Good stuff
I upgraded my tracks. I have a link on the "original old town" video. they are a must for musky trolling! my OC mount rod holders work amazing as well.
@@MCYakFishing thanks. One more question. Do you use the rudder to steer with the NK300. Does it work well? Been looking at the nk300 but want to keep my foot controls for my rudder
@@Gatto1227 I use both the rudder and the front motor at faster speeds to steer. It works great.
Cool catching them
