the reason students are trying to change it is because it is culturally insensitive. Especially considering UCSB's history with Ethnic studies that derived from El Plan de Santa Barbara during the 60s

At UCSB or UCSD for biology/biochemistry - are the classes in this area impacted that it's difficult to get then classes you want?

I remember watching this video last year when I was so nervous about whether I was going to get accepted to Haas as a transfer. Popped up in my recommended and brought back memories :') Now I'm a rising senior at Haas, crazy!

The beach my be 5 minutes from the UCSC campus by car but if you are a student who live on campus it could take up to an hour to get there on the bus.

it's funny. My counselors, professors, the coordinators at experience Berkeley even my wife said to go for econ. I did not, and I got accepted today. So even though these are a year old, I think I should probably subscribe and catch up to get me ready for the fall....or for precore

Congratulations man. I'm praying to transfer to Haas, it's my first semester in CC so the road is long, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it. If you have a moment, do you have any tips for me, i would greatly appreciate it.
If you were only going to talk about UCSC you should have said so in the title. I came in expecting a comparison with Berkeley and instead received nothing more than an interview with a UCSC student. I’d recommend you change the clickbait title. Disappointing how much this channel has gone down hill.

Just finished with admissions and got accepted under microbiology for both Berkeley and UCSD, but I don’t know which one to choose. I know UCSD has more opportunities for research, but the connections you can make at Berkeley are invaluable. I can’t make up my mind. I didn’t even think I had a shot in hell to get into Berkeley, but now life is making things difficult.
When you’re stuck between schools like this, I think another consideration should be where you’d rather be living. It might help to look at the campuses and ask yourself which one feels more comfortable. Academics and connections are important, but you also want to make sure you will enjoy being on that campus and in that city.
I am currently in the exact situation as you were. Idk if you'll see this since it's been a couple years, but what did you choose?

Hello,, are you familiar with whether UCSB's engineering is good? I only accepted to UCSB, UCI, cal poly SLO, UIUC for electrical engineering. Can you give me some advice which college to choose for engineering?
andrew z the first three are really good schools. it depends on your major and where you want to live. cal poly SLO is one of the higher ranked engineering colleges. UCI is very research oriented with lots of options and specializes in neuroscience. UCSB is better for the sciences, if you want to do chemical or bioengineering. ucsb is a much beachier place, whereas SLO and UCI are both more urban city like places. you'll do great at all of them. I say choose the most affordable option, and find out which college feels the best to you. try to visit them or take a virtual tour. and really ask yourself where you would want to live and study for four years

From what I have found so far, SLO seems to have more well known silicon valleys companies recruit than UCSB does. However, UCSB seems to have more research going on. But I am not sure wether it is easier to get internships from UCSB or slo. I will take a virtual tour for SLO later today but I virtually visited sb campus it was beautiful. I haven't looked much into UCI yet but I feel like I will choose between UCSB's and slo.
andrew z SLO likely has better recruitment and professors for electrical engineering. However, UCSB is a research institution, and thus had a much better program for internships and research. keep in mind, there are a lot of parties at UCSB that you would do well to steer away from, but it is beautiful there.

andrew z i would say you could research more yes, however SLO likely has better company connections. to get into a company internship SLO is better, and to get into hands on lab research UCSB is better
