Opening morning conditions keep the birds quiet, but I'm able to get eyes on a few gobblers and put the sneak on.

It's opening morning of youth season. We use lots of intel from previous seasons to go in blind and end up near a Tom on the roost. What a heart-pounding hunt!

Every hunter in Indiana hits the woods on opening day of rifle season and we get in between a bunch of deer. I manage to catch a glimpse of this guy as he's running for cover! APOLOGY: I don't know what in the world is going on with the microphone on my rear facing camera.

I squeeze in a couple morning rut bow-hunts between my Ohio trip and Indiana's gun opener. The bucks are moving all around me, and I get up close and personal on the ground with a shooter! APOLOGY: I don't know what in the world is going on with the microphone on my rear facing camera.

I tag my first deer from the saddle as 2 bucks hit the ground during a bow-season deer camp in Ohio.

I get a chance to go hang out with some incredible friends for a bow-season deer camp in Ohio. 3 days of saddle and ground hunting in the middle of the rut!

Riah and I get set up side by side for a quick evening rut bow hunt. We try to see if we can call in some satellite bucks and coax a buck away from a locked down doe.

I'm accidentally out in the woods for the first morning of November. The air is cold, the deer are finally really moving, and I get my shot!

I have a weird stretch of weather with very little deer movement, but try to make the most of it. But as October closes out the bucks start cruising!

First frost of the year and my 13 year old son's first shot at a deer! He's put in a lot of practice over the last couple years and this is his first year in the field hunting with his compound. See if we get some meat in the freezer.

Some quick before and after work hunts unsuccessfully trying to dodge the rainstorms. Thankfully my Under Armour Storm Ridge Reaper outerwear was up to the challenge and kept me dry.

I love the in-your-face rush that hunting on the ground provides but having my bow in a ready position was always a problem. So I did a little research and built my own light-weight low-cost bow stand.

I've learned so much from quick videos of other guys mobile hunting setups. Even if they hunt a different way I can always pick up a tip or idea to adapt to my style, budget, and setup. So this is just my humble addition to the DIY saddle hunting braintrust.
