Would you know how this act affects organizations doing Cold Email Marketing? You mentioned that if the data has been made public by the person then it is not covered by the act - Do email IDs come under this? Especially, work email IDs. (The Email IDs are acquired from a third-party b2b database based outside of India)
This act will very much be applicable to organizations doing Cold Email Marketing as we do not have consent when we are doing any cold email marketing and this will be a concern for the organisations. Without consent processing of personal data should be avoided. Yes, if the data is made public by the individual themselves then in that case the act would not be applicable to that data. There can be two types of work email IDs 1. My work email ID is info@xyz.com this will not be covered under the act . 2. My work email ID is tarun@xyz.com this will be covered under the act because the work email id contains my name. Now if the work email id is made public by myself, then in this case, we can use this email id without consent. If the Email IDs are acquired from a third-party b2b database based outside of India then we will have to obtain consent from the individual whom we are sending the email to, because these third party database collects consent for their organisation and not for other organisations to whom they are selling the personal data list to.

I watched full webinar. Little bit agree with Vikas Tiwary. Though they were not able to answer properly but definitely both presenter did a great Job. Many key points we can take from here.
