    The Dards are the descendants of the remnants of an Indo-European population stock who speak the Dardic languages (a group of closely-related Indo-Aryan languages) and are characterized by similar cultural traits (of course disregarding those tribes/groups which converted to Islam, which is almost every group with the exception of Kashmiri Hindus, Kalash people of NW Pakistan, and these Brokpas or Minaros of Ladakh as seen in this video). They made their homes in the isolated mountainous regions ranging from valleys of Hindu Kush (Nuristan, Kamdesh, etc.) in Eastern Afghanistan through to Chitral, Swat, Indus Kohistan, Hunza, Gilgit, Nagar, and Kashmir Valley and surrounding regions. Due to their prehistoric settlement in these isolated mountainous regions of the Himalayas and the HinduKush since last few thousand years, their religion and culture diverged from the mainstream Vedic Hinduism and began evolving on its own. Due to this aspect, these groups (with the exception of Kashmiri Hindus) did not experience any cultural transformation which came in mainstream Hinduism after 500 BC. E.g. the Kalash people (as also the Nuristanis before their eventual forceful conversion to Islam in 1895) still revere the God Imbra/Imra (Hindu "Indra") although He's not worshipped in mainstream Hinduism for the last few millennia. Thus, their culture and religion evolved on its own and developed new practices, depending on environmental factors, in isolation. Seen here in this video are the Brokpas (or Minaros) of a few isolated villages in Ladakh. They believe that their ancestors migrated from Gilgit region appx five centuries ago due to lack of freedom in professing their religion, which can be interpreted as forceful conversion to Islam. The theory of origin from Alexander's army is a well known myth.

    There is no such “Montevideo Maru Day” - descendants of those lost on the boat do gather for memorial services, but this is not something that is recognised by the rest of the country- in fact to the majority of Australians, July 1st has no significance at all

    The sinking of the Montevideo Maru never became part of Australia’s “national memory” it was hushed by the Australian government & even today, so few Australians know about it

  • @Ninja_chihuahua
    @Ninja_chihuahua หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thanks for covering this. Unfortunately, you did not do adequate fact checking- only 30 of the 1053 who were lost on the Montevideo Maru weren’t Australian- there was over 1000 Australians onboard, not 800 - also, there were no British in Rabaul- it was a British Mandated colony, but it was Australian territory, controlled by Australian administration. No POWs from Rabaul ever reached Hainan island- the officers who were not transported on the Montevideo Maru were, at a later date, transported to Japan. Also, only 17 Japanese survived the sinking

    The heaviest tree-dwelling mammal would be correct! The heaviest tree-dwelling animal might actually be (Malayopython reticulatus), the reticulated python . They spend a lot of time climbing, hunting and resting in the tree canopy even with up to 140kg. I know, in books they often write that adult Retics spend most of the time on the ground, or in the water, because of their weight. But apparently it's not true. It applies only for overfed captive ones in too small enclosures. Or maybe in big enclosures without enough branches to climb on. We have an above 5,2m and around 120kg(if not more) Retic female, which loves to climb and rest on the branches. And she is a fantastic climber! 😉✌

    There is an elephant in the room explanation for "dark matter". Most people don't know that Einstein said that singularities are not possible. In the 1939 journal "Annals of Mathematics" he wrote "The essential result of this investigation is a clear understanding as to why the Schwarzchild singularities (Schwarzchild was the first to raise the issue of General relativity predicting singularities) do not exist in physical reality. Although the theory given here treats only clusters whose particles move along circular paths it does seem to be subject to reasonable doubt that more general cases will have analogous results. The Schwarzchild singularities do not appear for the reason that matter cannot be concentrated arbitrarily. And this is due to the fact that otherwise the constituting particles would reach the velocity of light." He was referring to the phenomenon of dilation (sometimes called gamma or y) mass that is dilated is smeared through spacetime relative to an outside observer. This is illustrated in a common 2 axis dilation graph with velocity on the horizontal line and dilation on the vertical. The graph shows the squared nature of the phenomenon, dilation increases at an exponential rate the closer you get to the speed of light. General relativity does not predict singularities when you factor in dilation. Einstein is known to have repeatedly spoken about this. Nobody believed in black holes when he was alive for this reason. Wherever you have an astronomical quantity of mass, dilation will occur because high mass means high momentum. There is no place in the universe where mass is more concentrated than at the center of a galaxy. According to Einstein's math, the mass at the center of our own galaxy must be dilated. In other words that mass is all around us. This is the explanation for the abnormally high rotation rates of stars in spiral galaxies (the reason for the theory of dark matter), the "missing mass" is dilated mass. According to Einstein's math, galaxies with very, very low mass would not have dilated mass because they do not have enough mass at the center to achieve relativistic velocities. To date, this has been confirmed with 5 very low mass galaxies, all showing no signs of dark matter, in other words they have normal star rotation rates. There is no black holes or dark matter, relativity explains the phenomenon we see.
