Sizing on Flying Eagle Falcon compared to Fr1
The J- bars inside the stock FR liners are massive and it's also a thick liner especially when it isn't broken in, great for stiff skates like FR... BUT if you need a more supportive liner for example, people that urban skate with longer frames and want the fastest reacting skate with a tighter fit in the smallerst shell then Intuition is the way but the main points are responsiveness and performance... comfort comes 3rd down the road once they're properly broken in... and if you want the thinnest smallest liner available with minimal support but comfortable, there's the 2nd skin from MyFit...Well done with the vid, keep rolling 🤘
I'm a 54-year old skater, who picked up the sport again after 30 years. I bought a pair of Hardcore Evo last year, and have been enjoyed them, with Ennui wrist protection. I enjoyed listening to you.
fr trash 😂
Intuition is great for my wider feet because they're thinner.
Dude can glide on ice
I tried the old 90's RB liner the seba e3 liner and the twister XT liner. Currently I have the stock FR1 liner and it's the only one that I haven't experienced any foot pain with. I'll probably replace it with another FR liner once this one gives out.
Thanks for the vid, did you consider the 90 ES frame? My feet are the exact same size as yours and ordered the longer version. Hoping it will work well for me.
I need less lateral ankle support it just painful I want to take some material out of the liner
I really like the fr liners. My frx are now well broken in and thry fit amazing. Have a new pair of fr1 on the way. 280 bucks was an easy decision
I have these too. On top of that the buckle on the top rattles.
As a beginner, I have the FRX but very curious. If I upgrade is the ability to learn will be easier because of the power transfer can you help shall I get an upgrade or keep to the basic level?
I also feel the same, to be honest I prefer boots with air holes, when I wear FR1 my feet sweat faster
I’ve had my FRX for 4 years now and learned to freeskate on them. Been through 3 liners, 3 wheelsets, upgraded the frames, even had a crack on one of the boots. Still love them, because they’re very comfortable 😊
Thanks for the honest review, my experience the same as yours, sending deluxe back and ordering regular fr1s :)
Yah I have the fr1 90 flat ,the stock liner is cushy and snug, I was considering returning to get the fr1 ufr intuition 90 rockered. What u guys think?
Good looking out brother!
Very nice, I'm waiting on a blue set to arrive, the blue looks great in my opinion. Funnily enough I want to pair them with the pink endless frames as well. Thanks for uploading, it's the first time I got to see them paired up and they are everything I was hoping they would be
Here's the misconception about Intuition liners... they became popular because of their responsiveness amongst the Wizard community & the ability to down size shell size because of their thinner density. Which in either case, they sit atop the ladder. But as their popularity grew, people twisted things up & assumd that responsiveness equates into comfort. How that came about is baffling because those 2 words aren't synonyms nor interchangeable. Then folks just jumped on the bandwagon, started dropping $200 on liners & regurgitated what everyone that came before then said. Manufacturers caught on & had Intuition make a scaled back, dumbed down, oem version of their liner for their skates & all the sheeple thought, "oh snap, I can get this complete skate that comes with an Intuition liner for $250-300 & the liner alone is worth $200...what a score". Then comes the, "not exactly what I expected" because a bunch of urban & aggressive skaters bought into the hype spewed by Wizard skaters. Those 3 genres of skating look for 3 completely different traits in a skate/liner.
Well said, I personally would save my money and go with a complete Freestyle skate for precision skating or wizard skating
@@sebasosorio9084 I am thinking about the same thing, eyeing an FR SL or an Igor.. Dunno which one to choose, or just get a Premium Intuition for my FR1s atm
Hi tech-know-sk8r Just got my pair of fr1 deluxe with intuition liners. I already have a normal pair of fr1 which I like. Got to say not impressed with the intuition liners (to stiff and hard) was thinking of sending the lot back then had an idea to save returns and so on etc. could I use my original liners? I’ve tried them they seem fine. Or are the fr1 deluxe with intuition liners only designed for intuition liners does anyone know?
Where is this very interesting space?
💯. Please post the heat molding process. ✌🏼
If I get another carbon boot I totally will! It's pretty simple but the best tutorial I've seen is powerlsides TH-cam goes into good detail.
Damn I wish I had seen this video before ordering. Now I'm just going to cross my fingers that the hoops I jumped through to get intuition liners in the Fr1 90s I ordered end up fitting my foot well.
So what's the result?
@@iskindersam7834 they fit perfect I can detail my foot dimensions and skates if you'd like
I've gone through a couple of skates. Twisters, Next, k2s, and lastly my Fr2s. It never fit me even though I studied and research so much about sizing, after 20-30 of riding my feet just hurts so much. I found a local shop here in NYC to try and get some opinion from a skater. We tried a couple of sizes from 10-11 skate. my Mondo size is 27cm but the Fr2s I have is actually 28.5cm, so I was confuse but I trust the owner of the store. After the next I tried skating and it didnt even hurt after 30 mins. Now I've practicing basic stops and backward skating cuz I can progress now without worrying about pain. I might get a smaller liner in the future cuz this feels a little bit roomy. Tnx for the video!
Thanks for watching!! I'm so glad you were able to find a good fit!! Happy skating always 😊😊
Hi i have a question could you please help me? powerslide imperial 110 vs flying eagle f6s which one is better. I want to buy ve anew fs6 but some one sell a used powerslide imperial 110 from internet it is trusted person and never used since bought What do you think. What is advantages and disadvantages for each skates? Thanks very much
Imperial is more narrow fitting and I think flying eagle more average. This could help. I had imperial (never tried FEagle) and I like them but I have normal feet and it was hurting, but good quality skate
I see that V shape at the Achilles tendon and that's exactly what my Edge XTs liners have, which are just awesome ones. I see the lack of a V shape in the Intuition and I already know they will not grab your heel as good and I wouldn't like them just because of that. Not sure if you can heatmold that part but you could give it a try.
As a response to this comment, the entire liner is heat moldable. I molded mine that were a bit too tight and now they completely form fit my foot. My heel is completely locked into place with no lift
I would like to have comparison between hc evo 3x110 and 4x80 or 90. Is there a big difference in controls ,sliding speed ,jumps and thank you
Thx for the vid. Getting off the cvd couch and starting skating again. My 15yo cheapo's finally bit the dust. Happy because my arches hurt after 10 minutes. Might be because of the heal rise and skinny heels / ankles. Backwards skating was intolerable. Now in my 30s and tired of crap skates, I'm looking for the last pair ill ever need to buy. I've been looking at the fr3's but just found the f5s. I didn't know the falcon boot was comparable to the fr boot and couldn't find any info on it. I'm now considering the f5s for the cost (100 bucks less). Durability from road rash isn't a consideration, but comfort and arch pain is. Fr seems to spend a lot of attention to possible hot spots and a secure fit, so I've been leaning toward them. Is FE's falcon boot really comparable to a boot 100 bucks more? Is it just your foot shape that the Fr fits or could you say it because Fr really has a better boot and liner? Also, can you comment on the stiffness in the cuff between the two? I plan to upgrade to 110mm or 125mm frame shortly after. I'm tired of floppy cuffs and firmness to help w the additional hight.
STOP WITH ALL THE UMMMM UMMMM UMMMM
Hi,i like the frame and yellow wheels!!!
Those are some nice skates
quit with all the ummm ummm ummm umumum
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm no
Do you prefer these to the fr1 skates you have?
It's tough to say. Both skates serve different purposes overall. The hardcore evo is super light weight and when you develop the muscle you absolutely fly. The FR1 is a fantastic skate to just throw on and go. With a super easy buckle system and wide eyelet lacing it makes putting on and taking off super fast. I can also wear my FR1s for longer periods. So long and short, hardcore evo for fitness and taking the legs out for a sprint, FR1 for everyday skating, drilling practice moves and so on. Thank you for watching 😊🙌🎊🎉
@@tech_know_sk8er thank you. Would you say the evos are particularly cumbersome to put on and off or is it OK just not as good as the FR1s?
@@Hjw673 the evo is such an amazing skate it'd worth it. May I also suggest inspecting the FR spin. Similar to hardcore evo but less expensive 💯🔥🙌🎊🎉
Where are you my dude
Thank you very much!! Switzerland 🇨🇭 here!
Thank you so much 😊 🇨🇭
Did you skate the same boot with both these liners? Because it's better to think of the Intuition liner as the downsizeable liner. It's not really a question of which liner is more comfortable. So for example you have a 275 foot, you'd probably get the US size 10. But that is a dual-size shell which is actually *exactly* the same as the US size 11 (which just comes with a bigger liner). Therefore you end up in a 290-295mm shell, which is far from ideal. So the best option in this case is to get the US size 8-9 shell (next shell down and about 280-285mm shell) with the Intuition liner. I.e. the Intuition being about 5-10mm thinner gives you that option. Goal should always be to get into a shell where you are at the top end of the shell sizing. Deluxe is a really bad name for the model as it gives the wrong impression.
That's a great explanation!! And yes i couldn't agree more with the misleading name "deluxe"
You said the FR1 liners are better and more comfortable because they’re thicker, but can you talk about the difference in fit? Such as how much support each liner gives? how each liner holds the ankle? Is there a looser or tighter feeling with each liner after break in? It would be good to know how each of these fit different foot types, like low vs high volume feet etc…
So I ordered fr2 skates eu size 42 boot size 8. Well with the fr liner it is just too tight. I thought I could break them in but my foot starts to ache. I was thinking about getting intuition liners cause if they are thinner it relieve the discomfort.
I have the exactly same issue. How you enderd up ?
Have you tried heat molding the fr liner? And did you try the intuition?
@Sam182ever my foot cramps.... badly. I just end up using my same size flying eagle skates.
Thanks so much for this review and comparison. I was actually debating whether I should have gone for the FR1 or FR1 Deluxe. I had read some people say that they downsized for the regular FR1 and it fit extremely tight at first, and then broke in where they were very comfortable, but then after a while they packed in even more to become too roomy and loose... so I wanted to ask you since you've skated them for more than a year, do you find that the stock FR1 liner eventually packs in to the point where it feels too roomy and loose fitting? I also wanted to ask if you had any problem getting a good supportive fit by tightening the top buckle due to the top of the regular liner being so thick and cushy? My feet are an E width, so they're considered "wide" on shoe charts, but I also have a pretty low volume foot because I'm skinny, which is why I'm kind of interested in the regular FR1 liners, because it seems maybe the thickness of them will help with filling out the space where the intuitions being thiner may not. I've tried the FR1 in a half size down, and they feel very snug all over the foot (to the point where they feel super constrictive after 10 minutes) yet the fit feels like a potentially good performance fit out of the box, the length feels right... but I'm just not sure if the liner is going to pack down so much to the point where they feel too loose. Would love your feedback on this. Thanks!
So I've found that in my most worn pair of FR liners, the padding will eventually wear in a little, but it will remain very cushy with plenty of ankle support. With the intuition liner made for FR, it already seems to come fairly packed with not much cushion. I'll do a video going in on this topic this week. But, the fit of the standard Fr1 is interesting. I believe they are selling the deluxe version in a wider variety of half sizes. I wear a 44 in standard and a 44.5 in deluxe. I haven't seen one real benefit in buying the deluxe; even my strap broke the other day. My standards are still plugging away after 2 years of almost constant use. The only thing to wear it was my laces. The only other thing I'll touch on briefly is the school of thought that liners are like laces and wheels and eventually should be replaced as well. While not nearly as often, liners could be replaced every year if necessary.
@@tech_know_sk8er Thanks for the response. I look forward to your video. I actually ended up getting the regular FR1, and the thick padding on the inside does hug my ankles and the rest of the foot tightly. I guess my question is, if the regular thick padded liner can really hold your ankle and everything else in place, how can a much thinner liner line the Intuition snuggly hold the ankle and foot in place? I understand that sizing down will make the Intuition more snug, but I just don't understand how it could fill out all the negative spaces the contours of the foot makes. From what I've heard from other people, the Intuition, while being less cushy than the stock liner, is support to be more supportive and responsive, due to it being taller and more dense, but I'd like to hear your experience with that. I find that even if I tighten my laces and straps, I still get a bit of lateral wobble, and I can feel lateral ankle movement... I'm not sure it that's good or bad thing, but I imagine that if you're landing jumps, you probably very good support around the upper cuff? I read that the Deluxe liner is put into one shell size smaller than the equivalent regular liner.
super!!!
I havnt skating in years and I bought some fr2 80mm. They are so tight to the point I can't move my toes...and I'm wondering if they'll break in or if I should try a size up.
Thanks for watching!! It depends, are the skates so tight that you are in pain? While a snug fit ensures a responsive skate discomfort makes skating impossible.if you are in pain go-to a size up if it feels tolerable you may be okay in the current size. Don't be afraid to really get a proper fit so skating can knees again be a fun and positive source of activity once again 💯🎊🎉😃
so you prefer the originl liner? So i go with that
Yes I personally find the original FR brand liner more comfortable than the base version of the intuition liner that is sold with the deluxe FR1 edition. Thank-you so much for watching 💯🎊🎉🎊😃
@@tech_know_sk8er I heard from many others that you have more connection to the skate with the intuition.... I still confused. Should i try the Liner or not... maybe think about again haha
@Roman Werner You're correct to be confused, there's lots of information to try to absorb at once. If my understanding is correct the intuition liners that come with the fr1 deluxe are in no way the same as say the liners sold with the wizard skate or one of the upgraded versions available on intuitions website. In just my personal opinion between the liners I have access to, I prefer the FR liner.
Hello there, I have exactly that flying eagle EU45 in red, had to do some workaround to make them feal comfortable. Those are F6, next F7 model is much more comfortable everybody saing but at max size has EU44. Thinking of my next pair to be those F7 or FR1. This vid is very handy to find out about FR sizing by the way to me.
Thank you very much for watching!! If I had my choice it would be FR1 all the way. I recently purchased the new UFS boot from FR which I'm planning on upgrading with the parts from my FR1 deluxe boot. Hope the weekend brings you more time to skate 💯😃🎊🎉
@@tech_know_sk8er hi i need your help i recently ordered fr1 intuition I have a wide feet and my feet length is 26.2 cm do I order 40.5/41.5 or do I order 42/43?? Please help me
You are correct! It matters that we share our fun with skating. I was initially hesitant about sharing skate content, thinking it would be boring - but I did it. Now a number of followers have invested in skating for the first time or as an old friend. It has been a reminder to be deeply good to ourselves without a requirement of worthiness or milestones.
That's hella spot on!!!!! 😯💯🎊🎊🎉🎊🎉🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Finally got my pair but it snowed the same week ! I'm also TIRED of the cold, so I am researching my next set of frames. Can't decide between 4x90 or 4x100. I love my 3x110 but I need my acceleration and feeling grounded.
Personally I've found the 90s to fly! I love the agility of 80s but like the extra clearance 90s allow for slides. And of course the larger the wheel typithe more exciting the slides are. Which frames are you looking at currently?
@@tech_know_sk8er No doubt the 90s seem fun. I am currently eyeing Endless 90 or Endless 100, or, Iqon's 4*90/3*310. I currently have a Powerslide 3*110 frame, and I love the fact they just keep rolling.
@Hey Xay I'm currently fighting urges to order both a rockin 5x80 in green and a iqon in any setup. I've gotta hold out for my wizard setup, I've tracked down a seba cj prime 2 or a boot directly from wizard. Then I've gotta find some flat setup frames to rock!!
I always use fr basic boots they are awesome very comfortable.
💯💯💯 thank you for watching 🙌🎊🎊🎉😃
Is the 4x80 more agile than the 3x110 on this one? Thinking of getting a 4x80 frame or buying an fr1 w a 4x80 setup.
So the 110 setup is super fast and fun to skate, as far as agility I would have to give that award to the 80s. Once you get really comfortable on the 3110s it's super nice especially when you switch from the lower wheel base of the 4x80 and jump up to 110. Definitely worth playing around especially if you've had experience skating.
Hi. I'm struggling to find the weight of the frames on the net. According to some websites the deluxe weights 190g each. If you still have both, could you please weight them? Thanks!
I definitely will find that for you!!
Thanks for your patience, I found information that says 190g / 6.06oz - one 243mm frame no axles. Hopefully this is accurate, I don't have access to a scale sensitive enough to weight them.
@@tech_know_sk8er both same weight? I expected the fr1 frame to be a bit heavier.
@A.Juste although I can't offer exact numbers I can confirm that the stock fr1 frame is heavier and made from a thicker aluminum than the deluxe
@@tech_know_sk8er great! Thanks for your help dude. Hopefully it'll help more people.
Hi, is it good for long distance city rides? And comparing to the Tau and Next which one is the most comfortable? I knew that the heel rise about 3mm in the Evo pro compared to Tau, but i do not know what does that means and how it effect the performance.
So in my experience the heel rise helps accommodate a more aggressive stance for slalom style skating. Personally it doesn't bother me with long distance also. The fit makes it very comfortable to wear and the carbon fiber makes it light enough to reduce muscle fatigue. I'm not familiar enough with the Tau to five advice but I know it's an amazing skate. The flatter and lower to the frame and ground you get the skate the more you can achieve a wizard style skate setup. Alternatively the FR1 is a fantastic super comfortable skate and I've heard the FR spin is incredible. Thank you for watching, check out my Instagram content if you havnt already 😃🎊🎉💚🙌
@@tech_know_sk8er that is so informative, I made my mind for the hc evo pro, but unfortunately, I can not find the boot only. I ts out of stock everywhere. Do you think they are preparing for the 2021 model? Do you know when they usually release the a new model?
@Anas Hamed typically it does signal the release of a new skate with upgrades for the following year, or the release of a new skate entirely. They could possibly be gearing up to compete with seba cj carbon and offer a more flat setup or continue optimizing the EVO.
@@tech_know_sk8er I felt the same also, I think I will keep using my SEBA highlight carbon 2015 until we get a clear information.
Am still in between the tau’s and the evo pro!! I have medium feet. Btw, are they good for long distance and comfortable for skating long hours?
