Mount Astley scramble in Banff NP, AB, July 6, 2024. Did Mount Astley N.E. Peak and its extension, and Mount Astley S.W. Peak. Connection ridge from N.E. Peak to extension has loose rocks, so a bit of challenging. Had to descend from N.E. Peak to the base and then started climbing S.W. Peak. It needs route finding to do so. Great job guys! what time you started? can you enter a restricted area before 8:45 AM ? I'm trying to buy permission but showing the time 8:45 am to 3:45 pm.
@@rampfueler8498 we climbed mount Stephen, didn’t enter restricted area. You may need to pay guided tour in order to enter that area, but climbing mountain does not need to pay, just need permits that are free.

@@Nikola-rr1pw it’s more like hike than scramble. There is one section that may need hands, otherwise just a hiking. Pretty steep terrain with screes though

great hikes and scrambles in your vids: breathtaking. I love the Canadian Rockies, especially the valley floors and ridge views. But the music is too loud. I love music and am a musician, but capture the sounds of nature and each other as well. You can still play the music for sure.

Coordinate 52.17049,-117.07370! You can download trail map from AllTrails and follow. Go on the left till the end in the valley.

Around 18km car to car. Depending on your pace, it may take from 5 to 7 hours
Did you need snowshoes for the hike
Yes, snowshoes were required when we did it, not all the way, but partially! Spikes are a must!
