Perfect video.

I took myn apart and it was very clean no broken wires, but i found it has 3 wires , two very thin and one copper wire, despite cleaning and float moving freely and no rust the gauge still does not work, any ideas please, if i short the plug at the correct pins the gauge will read full so i assume wiring is fine upto the plug

Do you have a C126 grille for 560sec 1987?

Nice video of the basics on this grill. Liked it! Now, how do you repair it? In my spare parts pile (1-car garage with full shelves!), I have several SEC grills. One is reasonable, the rest need repairs from just a little bit, to broken in pieces. Any idea how to glue/melt the plastic slats back together? Can the "chrome" surround be repaired? Again - nice video!

Hello I am looking at white face gauge covers for my 1987 300d. But they all have unleaded printed or economy meter. The w126 over lay doesn't have this. My question is are the w126 gauge faces the same as w124. Thank you for your time.

I have the same burlwood piece (gen2) from Turkey but have not tried to fit it yet. Lucky i have plenty of original faded spares with cracks in clearcoat to swap parts out There pricing as way better than your local Madera Wood in US who are super expensive for any of the wood trims so that is the trade-off i suppose

This is a great video, thnx! I want to repair the sender unit if my Mercedes W108 (1966). Can i ask you: 1) what type of Nichrome wite do I need? And should it be type Ni80? 2) Is it true that if the resistance wires are not tense enough, the sender unit won’t work?

What about the lens, particularly the left? Original is discontinued. Have you found an aftermarket manufacturer for the left lens on these SEC fog lights? Thanks.

Ok guys before you purchase a new fuel sending unit try and clean the electrical connection on top of the unit first. Don't make the same mistake I did, and purchase a new VDO sending unit which didn't solve the gauge Fluctuating issue. I took the old one apart, and cleaned it up well put it back together and used a 220 grit sand paper to clean the electrical connection on the sending unit. It works perfectly fine now.BTW it's a 1995 E320

Hi Bob👋Thanks for the video! Steel wool, emory, soldering kit, swabs, alcohol, compressed air, Patience, a lot of TLC and you’re good to go! All rebuildable VDOs!!! That’s the Beauty of Mercedes Benz… MOST EVERYTHING IS REBUILDABLE 😎! I had to rebuild 2 of these a short while ago…A used spare that was sitting in a parts box when I got my Gwagen…(The Ni/Cr wire was broken and kinked in places) and the one in the vehicle. (The fuel gauge was jumping all over the place😱!) The outcome was good…they both work excellent; no more erratic gauges… The socket for this item is a 46mm shallow (at least on mine). And I believe that they’re mostly typical on these old Benz… Thanks again for the vid👍🏼Keep doing what you do. And keep sharing! A humble grease🐒

Off-topic, how often have you encountered a manual antenna, no power? Code 534

I have a 1988, 560 SEC, having issue with drivers side power headrest. Goes up but will not go down without helping it by manually pushing down on it while holding button down. Would appreciate any guidance if you know anything about this issue. Thanks for your helpful videos.
