Man… why all the irrelevant chat?? People watching this are probably stranded like you were and have to listen to the whole thing. Great initiative, but GET TO THE POINT!!!!
I just had my Aux battery replaced because my Stop/Start light started coming on. BUT, the light is still on. I can auto start my Jeep, but the auto stop doesn't work. How do you get the light to go off?
Stellantis makes junk.
Jeep is a four-letter word. So is junk. Form owner of Jeep Gladiator 2021.
I got a paismeno camper
How do you set it up
What a mess i have my 2020 gladiator look like a Christmas tree . Went to limp mode a few times . Wake up in the morning start my jeep and start a little rug for some reason but after a few seconds is fine . Still not problem resolved .
Push a button to turn off …. SIMPLE !!!!
...having to push it every time you start up the car...ANNOYING!!!
The batteries are in parallel. Removing the aux is fine as it’s an assist battery only. Auto start stop is horrible. Bypass. Not worth it. The aux battery will kill the main battery over time as a parasitic draw. Which is why it killed the main battery
You can jump the battery if you tie it into the posts you need to cross connect the metal posts. Litebrite did a good video on it
I have a 2021 JLU sport 2.0L. I disconnected the wiring harness on ESS under the hood. The prong on the right. There is small wiring harness on the battery too. The "light" comes on but I put electrical tape over it.
I just found out about these things....ordered a set 5 min later.
Stop-start does not really impact fuel mileage, it is all about emissions. The aux battery only powers accessories when engine is stopped by stop-start feature. Can be safely deleted, but dealer has certain FCA obligations. My dealer shop was like "yeah no big deal," but others may be more critical. They just saw it as a "safe" mod. Just ask next time you're at yours.
I did 5.6 stock. Interesting…
Thanks for sharing.
Where is the nearest altar so I can pay homage? A God to me. Have you done this since, and any 'lessons learned' in the ensuing years?
Interesting, I have transbrake setup but 2 step is not available on the 2018 ecoboost
Lots a a $500+ To replace that small battery
What size are they all dimensions they look great looking to get the exact same ones
There's a company out of West Virginia that sells an Auto Stop Eliminator for about $100. It was the first mod that I did to my 2023 Wrangler Willys. Best money I've ever spent; takes about 10 minutes to install.
Yup! Bought a similar product after making this video. Easy install and gives you peace of mind.
@@BryanHectic And throws no codes or violates the warranty.
@@AStanton1966 quick question. If the battery is still connected, etc. AND the aux battery ends up dying, doesnt the problem (draining the main battery when aux battery fails) still exist? Its my understanding that the electrical bypass just remembers the last setting and makes it so you dont have to keep turing it off when activated. Thanks for any clarification.
@@JimKonugres I don't know anything about the aux battery on the Wrangler. I wouldn't mess with any main electrical components on my Jeep. If the battery ever croaked, I would go to the dealer to replace it. The battery is under the fuse box in the engine bay and I wouldn't mess with that. All I know is, that I hate that start/stop system on any vehicle. And the Auto Eliminator took care of that!
Carry a jump pack should get you home!
When you disconnected the aux negative and the fuse it should have cleared the alert off your dash. If it didn’t then just disconnect all the negative posts from the battery and separate them for a few minutes replace the main negative battery terminal while keeping the aux negative isolated and ensure your fuse is removed and it will clear your codes from your dash.
I'm in East Tn just below Knoxville and my wife and I took flowers up to her family graveyard near the Ky line. I'm driving a 2018 JL with a 4 cyl turbo and automatic. To make things short- guess what happened when I tried to start it up. No Key just a fob. Just click with nothing. You know they routine well. After waiting for almost 2 hrs for my roadside assistance to get me a rollback, he hauled us back to our dealer and there we sit. The dealer had their Delivery boy to bring us home. That was Monday and today is Thursday and still nothing. #1 my first Jeep and #2 my last Jeep. Only have 11370 miles on it and that was trips to Kokomo for my Brother-in-law's funeral. Not to this post you made: I love it. Very informative. I'm a Vietnam Vet , Jet Engine Tech and a Street Rodder but this threw me for a loop. Thanks and again with good documentation like this it is like having a Motor Manual in hand again. God Bless.
Too much talk
That's usually how a vlog works. Did you read the title of the video before clicking on it?
Computer trying to control too many things.
Awesome infor thank you. IF you have to go to the dealer restore everything back to OEM specs.
At some point pull the small battery, tape up the ends, pull your negative cable, clear the code and you should be good. Had the same issue with my 19, but it didn't strand me.
Can u please help me
@@tarangill9109 how can i assist?
sounds real good, probably one of the best sounding 4 cylinders out there
I'm up here in Canada...Just a couple of days ago, a purchased a brand new JLU Rubicon, in Montreal, and was in the process of driving it home to New Brunswick, (through the state of Maine)...Half way there, on a minor, 2 lane highway, in the middle of Maine, I had to stop due to a railroad crossing signal... In order to save gas, I put the vehicle in park and shut off the engine...It wouldn't re-start, and road-side service wasn't able to help me...I was stuck, blocking my lane, for about 2.5 hours...Luckily, I found the Key FOB solution, on the internet, in which you physically use the Key FOB to push the starter switch/button, and it actually started... Now, my wife wants me to return the vehicle, to get our money back, but I don't think that's possible up here...
Sounds like Your remote / key fob battery is dead.
What exhaust is this?
In addition to the headers, a Berk catted frontpipe and an MXP Comp RS catback.
Wow, I just hope you have filled your coolant reservoir because it looks like it’s empty and that’s more important than your batteries at this point😮
Sounds great! I'm custom ordering the tS in rally blue & short shifter.
R U Ready? Go Scarlett Knights
Do you know what kind of generator it needs?
What ever happened to your yamaha sr400?
Sold that back in 2017.
Please tell us how reliable the jeep was. Modern Jeep products are notoriously unreliable. Let us know.
How has it treated you so fat
The D-4S Boxer is really neat. It takes Toyota's direct+port fuel injection system and puts it on a Subaru flat-four boxer engine, which is why both brands are on the engine cover. This lets them pull about 100 HP per liter from the NA motor (most dyno tests I've seen online are showing these 2.4L motors are being slightly underrated by the manufacturer for some reason).
Sounding like a Subaru!
Thanks! Getting there lol. Unequal-Length headers next!
Awesome! From everything I've heard in my past six months of research, the unequal length headers really open up the low end on these FA24 motors. Looking forward to seeing the results!
@@BryanHectic what ever happened to your yamaha sr400?
eTourque..it's the only way. You still have ESS but no stupid Auxillary (motorcycle) battery. During Stop/Stop you have an electric 48V hybrid battery.
now that you have had your start/stop aftermarket part. how is it hold up? would you still recommend this? I was thinking of getting one. Thanks in advance.
So, once in a blue moon, it'll forget to retain the setting I left it on(we're talking like once every 40 start ups maybe). But 95% of the time it remembers to retain the setting it was on the previous drive cycle. On the rare occasion it forgets, it's really a non-issue since I have the fuse for the auto start/stop removed.
@@BryanHectic awesome!. ok cool thank you. i will have to get that. thanks again for the reply and great videos. keep making them. 👍
Jeep looks awesome. what size are the tires you just added?
Thanks! They're still 32's, just beefed up All-Terrains instead of the stock all-seasons that came on it.
Need 9000000000000 of those to buy ok
Tires or rims?? The tires have nothing to do with the TPMS. its the rims, the valves to be exact. you kept saying tires in the video though, im thinking you meant to say you swapped rims
Doesn't TPMS stand for "Tire Pressure Monitoring System"? I get the confusion when the op said "pull then sensors out of the tires" but beyond that it seems kind of pedantic.
Yeahhh...I didn't realize that until you pointed it out. I bought the wheel/tire combo together and I was so hyperfocused on ranting about the tire psi that I misspoke.
Looks stock kid
He stated in the title they came off a stock Gladiator Rubicon...
I drove my '23 BRZ to my local Ford dealer and test drove a S550 Mach 1 just to compare them. The Mustang was great but, not any more fun. I'm really happy with my low cost sports car. Enjoy yours!
I see you have your Jamies on!😅 I gave thought to but the Mustang GT but less than 2 years ago I sild my 2020 BMW M2 Competition for the fact it was too powerful to enjoy in these mountain twisties I live in. The Mustsng is too heavy for these twisties . I was going to get the Miata but it is a little too small. I wanted to order the World Rally Blue TS but dealer said Subaru was not taking orders on the TS yet. They do have the crystal white pearl Limited in transit and should arrive January 22. I am thinking about getting that one then get my own graphics installed to make it my own. It is about $5k less than the blue TS that I can’t even put on order yet . Is your color more pearl than refrigerator white?
I think pearl is more accurate. It also has a slight sparkle in the clearcoat!

Mine only works most of the time.
You have my attention! I’ve been communicating with the developers of JScan to create button memory for the ESS, but to no avail. Curious if this will work on a WK2 Grand Cherokee?
I'm not sure if this specific one would(not sure what motor the Cherokee has or I'd there are any other differences), but I guarantee there is an equivalent out there for it I'm sure.
