CMP Zero Maiden Flight
Jim Stanton flies the maiden flight of his CMP Zero. The flight proves to be eventful, as the ignition battery vibrates loose and the throttle servo becomes unresponsive. Jim got her down in one piece and she was flying again shortly thereafter.

Amazing maiden flight! Could have been a lot worse. The plane flies nicely.

I just got one of these for a birthday present. I am going to put a 20cc in it and wondered if you could give me a couple of tips. Preferred prop size, cg, servo size, etc.. Yours flew great, even with the deadstick. I always say if your goingto do it right, go to the experience.

Good job Jim. Nice video and editing. Just enough time to trim out I see. Can't ait for weather to break. Maybe able to at least run the engine Saturday or Sunday.

@rfaria1 Thanks for the nice comments. This is a greta flying plane. It flys more like a trainer than a War Bird. With those 2 big wings it just wants to stay in the air.

Beautiful plane. Engine seems like a perfect fit. Smooth "double go-round" on the deadstick, too.

@bicyclemonkey I used a set of the ESM landing gear for a Lavokin LA-7. It works great. You have to modify and reenforce the gears area with hardwood you can get at Lowes or Home Depot. You can get the gear from Troy Built or VQ models. I also know the ESM gear for the F8 Bear Cat will work as will. The ESM landing gear only coat $139.00 plus shipping. Good Luck

@albychainsaw80 Sorry to reply so late but the engine is a Brillelli 46GT. It is the perfect size engine for this plane. I now have a dozen flight on it and this is one great flying plane.

Nice work. I've got the same plane, but electric powered and using pneumatic retracts. How long did it take to get the Lado's?
