Theres a lot of pretentiousness in japanese sword lore. Most of these never struck a single person. But claimed outrageous abilities. Clearly there would be some sign of damage if they had struck bones.

Looking at those blades in person would me wanna shed a tear of happiness there so beautiful there's just something about these blades that screams out beauty and artistic abilities

the yamatorige appears to have ben polished with acid, its pretty obvious. perhaps it was done that way to be easy to see the details wen its displayed. personally i believe a good sashi komi polish would suite this blade just fine.
