What is that little hole on the back of it? Mine all of a sudden stopped working yesterday, and I saw that hole and decided to put a paperclip in it because I figured it was a reset button or something, and I didn't care if I broke it because I hate this infernal system and was just trying to see if it works still so I can sell it or give it away to some poor unsuspecting soul. Anyways, I jammed a paper clip in there and it actually began to work again, and still is today... but looking at you open it here, it looks like it's just a circuit or on the board and not a button? Or is there? Thanks.

I opened my player and one of the black knobs had blew off . Not sure how to fix that .

My battery is busted. It will turn on but the audio is all wonky. I've taken it apart, turned it on and then unplugged the battery and it works fine. But it won't turn on without a battery, is there a way to bridge a pin or two?

I tried to assemble it using an F1 World grand prix PCB, but I tried everything and it didn't work, my N64 revision 03. The only one I left on the board was the original save chip from the F1 World cartridge.

Dude you are making a video about a ps2 phat and you don’t even know how to take it apart and do the repair about it and you are stopping the video to look up info from other TH-camrs videos. Like wtf man. This isn’t helpful for people it’s more frustrating for them. Maybe have some knowledge about what you are doing before you post it. Sometimes you can put a screwdriver tip into the part and pry a bit while heating the joint ...

There is a relationship between the angle of the soldering iron and the solder sucker that takes a while to master, different methods for everyone, sometimes adding a bit of solder helps. I like watching 12Voltvids and how he removes solder parts while holding onto the component (ouch) then re solders the item holding the part and the solder with one hand and the iron with the other hand. I used to be able to do this but my hands shake a bit too much now.

So rare these days to find any without scratched dust covers. Soon after they were purchased, most people put stuff on top of them. Looks like the track change mechanism is the Common Mitsumi unit with the plastic head frame that almost always cracks. Yours looks OK! The changer assembly probably needs to be oiled and lubed. I posted a 3 part video on my channel on how to disassemble these kinds of heads, glue the cracked frame and reassemble. You may have to take it apart to give it a thorough lube. To get the track light to calibrate to the correct track, make sure the head is in the highest location (track 1) and the light should show Track 1. If it is, but a song from another track is playing, you need to adjust the head height screw from underneath the player till you hear the correct song. If not, the rotating post on the track change which has a circuit board and moving contact plate may be in the wrong position.

What would happen if you tried to load a game larger than 16 MB? I ordered one to run a SSB Remix tournament (ROM size is 64 MB) but I just realized there's a limit.

It costs twice as much but tbh one of the other devices might be worth the higher cost, simply because it will work on more N64s and has more space, you can also use an SDcard and load as many roms as you can fit...

I have the same issue but mine is a little bit strange. When I plug the vita It starts to charge for like a minute and then blue light flashes on the ps button and stop charging at all. This happens when the vita is turned off. Do you think mine's is a charger issue?

That's not the end of the demo. There are 3 levels (or maybe I included 4... I can't remember). There's also 2 ships to unlock in the demo. Also, it's better to HOLD the fire button (like it says) versus tapping the fire button. Also, the enemies not shooting you when they're off-screen is on purpose, because there's nothing funner than getting shot from off-screen, right? 😉 That's been adjusted in the final game, we'll see if people like it more. Bought it, flashed it. And it doesn't seem to work on motherboard revision 8 unfortunately. Any insight on getting it to work? Wish I would have read the description.

I've been having so much fun putting Pi Pico and RP2040s in all of my consoles (Switch, XBox, GameCube so far), but I might pass on this one. The ROM size limit is kind of a deal breaker for me. Maybe there will be an update to the Pi Pico or SD card support for this board at some point.

There are plenty of cell phone stands to hold your phone while you record, some can mount to a standard camera tripod.

Note: If you want to reflash another N64 game rom, don't forget to flash the file "flash_nuke.uf2" first before starting over flashing process.

You do not need to wait to unplug it. As soon as it dismounts that is the guarantee that it is flashed in case of the Pi Pico.
