Its absolutely tragic how Kpop artists are held to a higher standard. It reminds me of the days when the west would sensationalize the “no dating” rule to hammer in the differences between hollywood and kpop but its all just repackaged parasocialism. (in the west we have an obsession with celebrity relationships, encourage delinquency through publicity, and shun based on rumours) - I’d love to suggest podcasting once a month. It allows you to recap if any new info arises, and gives you ample time to find motivation/work on your side projects (ex. vlogs) and should also shield you from burnout.

He's back!! I genuinely hate how toxic fans and the general public are towards these idols who work their butt off to debut, and one mistake can literally ruin them. People in this world need to be more forgiving and give these idols a chance to grow and improve themselves. Don't get me wrong, bullies should be held accountable for their actions but bullying an idol by sending them death wreaths is CRAZYYYY. Honestly, people are hypocrites and need to get a life.

Honestly the Seunghan "scandal" is so fucking stupid. It could be a culture thing or something but like having a partner or something before being an idol (or even while being an idol) shouldn't be a big deal. Like I get they want the whole thing to be a parasocial relationship and whatever but sending death wreaths and like proudly displaying it IS INSANE. Like the fuck is wrong with people. I feel like at this point they feel jealous that idols probably get bitches, and jealous they ain't what the idols want in a partner. I hope idols start speaking up because it's just insane to have to walk out your company or ex company and see someone send deaths wreaths for you as a living person.

It's one of the first times I've seen someone talk about the documentary here. About Blackswan: The group's staff were not at the house on the day of the incident. And according to Leia herself (on tiktok live) the fight wasn't in the same day as the dinner, because Fatou didn't know about the post she made on insta until she arrived in Korea, when another member of the group told her. lol. Eventually they made "peace", and Leia even stated that Fatou was not "the bad person there" by shading the korean member on the tiktok live. But she never retracted the bullying allegations that were made by her mother, until this day. That's crazy. I really like Blackswan the way it's today. I think they proved you can be k-pop without korean members, and they also really have a unique chemistry, not only between them but with the staff, which is very different from the original lineup. PS: I felt so bad for Cravity. It seemed like Starship controlled everything they said on camera and they were clearly disappointed because of the group not doing good. And omg, the staff refusing to say that the group had something unique? lol I died there.

I agree with what you said about Eunchae, its actually horrifying that Kpop keeps debuting minors. Keeping in mind how much these idols go through. The fact that these minors are being subjected to this is crazy to me. Like imagine feeling like the entire world hates you at the age of 16/17 when you haven't even figured who you are as a person. I genuinely feel like hating does nothing productive, like you said it gives them a platform, if you don't like something don't talk about it and bring it attention then be surprised that the thing you hate is getting attention. One thing I hope for the comeback is that the music is within their vocal range, the girls can sing, but some of their songs aren't suited for their range.

i don't think it's about their career, i think it's about lesserafim's reputation. like, if they don't get it together, and it's just another song in the easy realm of sound, they'll be labeled as the "bad vocal group" or the "group that's constantly struggling", and that will be a hard label to get rid of. i think that regardless of how good/bad the music is, they will receive support, but they will be continue to be known as a certain thing and like you mentioned, the hate train could get worse :/// i just hope that they don't get to see the negativity and that their company should try and protect them more

to extend the discussion, a lot of delusional expectations and feelings of closeness to celebrities and characters can stem from an emotional immaturity. This behaviour is most common among developing youth as they discover how relationships (platonic and otherwise) function. staggering or resisting development can be achieved by depriving an individual in their social developmental stages from realistic depictions of relationships - this might mean that the adults in their lives are not modelling this role or media is actively promoting a conflicting behaviour. This is mainly why idols can easily manipulate (often tween) fans with lovebombing behaviour and advertising. Left unchecked in particular cases, this can snowball into unrealistic expectations of real world relationships which in turn creates a toxic environment > resentment of real world relationships > seeking of fictional validation > repeat.

I do agree with you, with 2d relationships being healthier than para social relationships. I feel like some people (yes I'm outing myself here) use 2d characters to better understand themselves. Like for me personally I've found that the characters I've grown attached to the most are the characters I see a lot of myself in. Also Banana fish ruined me too
