Thank you for watching! Glad you’re finding these videos helpful.
@@scarecrowjosstudio2125 have a fabulous weekend you too!🎃
Wow I’m really learning from you a lot! I did have this issue about the top, it’s was falling down! So I made it short…but now I know stop and let it’s dry first, and continue to finish the rest. Thank you so much…can I ask you where can I find the video of how you made your dough! Thank you again. 🎃🙋♀️🎃
Hi. I'm glad you're finding the videos helpful! Here's the link on my channel on how I make my paper mache clay: th-cam.com/video/0-MsUukykHg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much! for letting us know when it’s comes to the eyes and nose with the mouth to kind of refill its and making smooth on the edges…I’m glad I sad your video and this woke me up of making the eye and the rest full… thank you again…..now I do have a question regardless when it’s come to dry? That’s it’s-dry really good inside home the pumpkins 🎃? Reason why I’m saying this because I have noticed my pumpkins I made two big one and they are outside because the temperature is over 89 to 90 and 100 degrees figure it’s dry faster! I go outside and I have noticed it’s starts to crack and it’s drying? So this is why I ask. Thank you again.🎃🙋♀️🎃
Are you talking about the clay drying or the paper strips that you put on the pumpkins first? Either way, I have found that it dries better if you put it in front of a fan inside the house. If you're clay is cracking, you can fix that after it dries but putting a little more of the clay inside and around that cracked areas, smooth it over with a paint brush dipped in paste and let it dry. I hope this helps!
@@scarecrowjosstudio2125 thank you and thank you so much! , I’m sorry, I didn’t mentioning of the type of paper mache clay It’s of egg cardboard! Yes it’s what’s I’m been going through in my two big pumpkins 🎃 I made and I still has to finish the bottom of adding more paper mache. But yes this is what’s I been seeing, cracking after two hour out side! I will say I love my big pumpkin, thank you for mentioning, to touch it up with paper mache and use the brush! I’ll do that! I think I’m going to do what you just said to let it’s dry inside and use the fan, for my others projects. And thank you again, have a blessed Wednesday 🎃🙋♀️🎃
You’re doing great and he’s really coming together nicely. 😍👍
Thank you! 😊
You’re most welcome. 🙂
This video is going to save me so much money lol... I need some Halloween decorations for work, and I'm trying to save money and not spend a bunch for pre-made decorations. I wanted a few pumpkins, and this will be perfect for what i want, and will also probably work great for some other decorations like tomb stones and such. I'm going to try using shredded paper from work that I've soaked and blended smooth, i don't think I'll use the whole bale of the fiber stuff and i live in an apartment so i don't have the space to store it lol, but I'm super jazzed about this! Thanks for all the great info! 😊
The shredded paper soaked in water for a a couple of days will work perfectly. Also the same if you use cheap toilet paper soaked in water as well. I’m glad you’re enjoying these tutorials and are going to make some of your own decorations!
Funny thing... You said initially you were going to make it about half the size of the original, but its starting to look the same size! 😜
It got bigger than anticipated after I positioned the wings.
This is awesome! I love this kind of stuff but i tend to be a big proctastinator and get distracted with other projects.🫤 Anyway, some thoughts... 1. Pizza boxes for the base. If its not the right dimension, you can unfold the box and use it as a template with the right dimensions on clean cardboard. 2. Regarding the wings... The corrugated cardboard has a "grain". it folds nicely along the corrugations and not so nicely across it. One wing the corrugations was horizontal (the one you demonstrated curving with the pipe) and the other was vertical. The vertical one had a better, smoother curvature. I think if you had drawn/cut the template with the corrugations on a diagonal (opposite diagonal for the second wing) it would fold/curve much easier. But that would require a big supply of cardboard to plan that out. 3. The construction of the head reminds me of making a muppet. Lots of head shape patterns to choose from for that. As you said, no need to get too accurate. You can build on top of the skull shape later. While foam does stretch and compress better than 'thin' cardboard to smooth out the shape, if you put more darts into the cardboard, it will curve and smooth out a bit better. 4. On the frame, instead of cutting the piece in half and gluing at an angle, you could make it a couple inches wider, cut two slots half the length at the point you widened it out and fold at the centerline. Then cut slots in the other piece so that they slide together. I cant remember the name for the slotting technique, but most often see it in wine bottle separators in cases of wine. My 4¢ worth (inflation). 😉
Thanks for the feedback and input!
Looking great❣️😍
Thank you 😊
You’re most welcome. 🙂
Very nice. Is the polyurathane matte or glossy? Thank you.
Thank you. The polyurethane is a satin finish.
Thank you. Love your work. Just starting with paper mache sculptures after painting in oils on canvas for years.@scarecrowjosstudio2125

I live in Martins Ferry too. Do you ever do public showings of your creations, or maybe do a Halloween display?
Hi. I live in the Lake Tahoe not Martins Ferry. I used to sell my art at craft fairs but haven’t for a while now.
@@scarecrowjosstudio2125 Thats interesting. Did you used to live here? Someone uses your name right down the street from me.
Nope. Never lived there.

I've wondered about the update on this guy. Great to know they can hold up to the weather. lookin' forward to the Skull and books video.
That choice of green worked a charm. Really added just enough of that "something" to take it over the fence 🙂
Thank you!
Turned out awesome
Thank you!
The decision to put vines going from the arms onto the pumpkin was great. It looks really good like the arms are attached by the vines.
Thank you.
Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
Coming along nicely. 🙂
Thanks 👍
I just found you , wow your fabulous clear explanations are so appreciated. Very excited to look through your catalogue of videos. 💚☮

Criminally undersubscribed. I like that tree trunk. I have yet to try bigger projects only midsized pumpkins. On another note, subscribe she's taking her time to teach. It's the least we can do and your other favorite TH-camrs also.
