Steve Brown Talks 80s Rock Glory, Push Ups, and How to Flip a Guitar
By the time he was old enough to drink (legally), Trixter founder and guitarist Steve Brown had put his hometown of Paramus, NJ on the rock and roll map, released a gold record, starred in a string of hit MTV videos and performed on arena tours supporting Kiss, Poison and the Scorpions. He hasn’t slowed down much since the Eighties, producing albums by such icons as Ace Frehley, filling in for both Phil Collen and Vivan Campbell in Def Leppard, touring with the Wizards of Winter, and even launching a line of super-affordable SBS guitars, one of which he should totally send us to mess around with.
We connected with Steve remotely from his home studio/man-cave and talked about how he basically lived Dave and Tom’s rock and roll dream, the mighty Ibanez Icemen, isometric exercise routines, and who would win a Hamer versus Kramer death match.

Sully sent me here :) great chat!
I'm also a lefty who learned righty (because Eddie played righty)- I'm still not certain of an advantage or disadvantage of doing it this way, guess we should ask Batio. I used to teach in a music store and told every mother who said 'they're a lefty' to take a look on the floor- 'There are 4 lefty guitars out there on the racks, let me teach them righty so they can have their choice of cool shit later on'.
great great great interview - and loved hearing Cindy talk about herself at the start of the episode… 10/10 would recommend
Matthew is the best
First to like
I need Mike to come on again, I love all this deep Charvel lore.
Great interview!! Thanks!
Dean Delray's podcasts are fire!🔥
Why does this have so few views?! I could listen to Vai talking all day
first time long time ... not familiar with her music but I'm betting I love it - she seems super cool and grounded.
again, first commenter commenting! this time with something to say - I too recall the DLR Skyscraper tour...with Poison opening at the Brendan Byrne Arena in NJ...did DLR ride a suspended surfboard across the venues while singing California Girls? also you can see Steve playing a solo on his belly at the 40 minute mark of a video on youtube entitled David Lee Roth April 13th 1988 Skyscraper 16X9
Awesome!!
first commenter! herein lies my comment!
