Wow ! This is a great video! I like that you are down to earth and real. It’s refreshing in a world of what I call ‘ nail snobs ‘. Subscribed!
We’re always slightly behind you guys here in England so I got an email from ORLY today telling me to watch out for their Spring Collection launching 1st February! I suppose the good thing is, it means I get to see your review before mine arrives, so I mostly know what to expect (although we don’t always get the same free gifts it seems!) I have ColourPass so it will automatically arrive for me soon, hopefully this weekend! I actually kinda love when brands don’t recycle the same theme or colour story for each season every year. If they gave us a pastel collection every Spring I’d soon get bored but I can see why you’d be disappointed if that’s what you were really wanting and expecting. I also have a thing for 70’s style fashion, I have a short jumpsuit/romper in a psychedelic pattern and it’s orange, blue, mustard yellow, pink, red and white with crazy swirly patterns. I could probably paint the designs from it as nail art using a few of the polishes from this set!! It was funny when I first wore it and my Mum went “Whoa, I had an almost identical one to that in 1974!! I loved it!” I wear it with baby pink chunky platform sandals. 😂 I think it’s great that ORLY are celebrating their 50th anniversary with such perfectly 70’s colours! I was sort of expecting they’d do a collection for it. Did you know that the company was created by a Hollywood make-up artist called Jeff Pink? He invented the French Manicure as a quick way to speed up the time between costume changes for Actresses. They used to have their nails painted to match their outfits, but that meant repainting them for each costume change! So he invented the French Manicure as a classy nail look that goes with literally any outfit, meaning they didn’t have to redo the nails constantly! From there, he founded ORLY. It’s actually his wife’s name! The only one I don’t like is the taupe. Like, it feels like they shoehorned it in there because the Pantone “Colour of the Year” is Mocha Mousse, which is almost exactly what this polish is. There was a lot of brown in the 70’s but it was usually a richer, warmer brown so I’m not keen on that one. I love the rest though and will try and do some 1970’s themed nail art!
Interesting fact! I didn't know that! My parents are from the 70s, and they told me the colors were spot on. 👌 Hope you get yours soon! I plan to do some art with the polishes, I just don't know when.
I love this collection for spring. I think they are perfect to transition into pastels. I also love that some of the colors can be used during other seasons. Some of my polishes are so beautiful, but I feel like they can only be worn during specific times of the year. Thank you for taking the time to swatch this for us. I have been enjoying your videos.
Thank you for watching! I'm glad you enjoy my videos 🩷 I will be sharing individual swatch shorts soon! When it comes to a polish you love, you can wear it no matter what time of year it is 😉 I agree on your thoughts as well!
Absolutely true about cleaning up immediately. Great video.
Thank you!
Oh no!! I feel like I jinxed you!! I’m sorry 😅❤ They’re still looking really good though!
You didn't do anything. I went to open my closet door and hit my nail wrong. 😉 It's ok, my nail will go back out
@ I know but still, it always seems like when you mention how well your nails are growing or someone else compliments them or asks about them, you’re guaranteed to break one! At least the oil is making them grow quickly so it’ll catch back up in no time!
❤ Excellent video!
Thank you!
Hey lovely, with layered stamping, the two pictures on the plate are lined up *perfectly* so that placing one directly over the other, they make a single picture. Usually you work from the left, so the left side you stamp first and then the right side goes on top. You switched them in this video but for a simple design like these daisies, it doesn’t matter too much! Do you have a rectangular stamper as that can be really helpful for remembering which way is North-East-South-West for your design and easily keeping track of them! Pick up the first design and keep track of which side of your stamper is “North” for your design when you place it on the nail! (while practicing, I recommend keeping “North” of your design against the cuticle as it’s easier to remember!) Also, try and remember which part of the picture (so in this case, which one of the dots or the flowers depending which you do first) is in the middle of the nail when you stamp it! These two things are very important for placing the second half of the picture. Now… When you pick up the second design, hold it over the top of the FIRST design on the plate so the corners line up, and you’ll see that it will line up *PERFECTLY* with the first image so that in this case, all the dots fit perfectly with all flowers. If you know which of the dots/flowers on the plate is in the middle of the nail you already stamped, you can now see which of the dots/flowers on your stamper fits that middle image. Keep track of it on your stamper so you know which one it is. Now hold the stamper over the nail, make sure “North” is facing the same way as the first design and with the middle “dot/flower” on the stamper that you’re keeping track of, line it up with your middle dot/flower on the nail and you should see that alllll the other dots also line up with all the other flowers. If not, just move the stamper slightly while looking through it, until you’re sure the dots all align with the flowers, then stamp it as normal. It takes some practice to do it quickly and get it to work, but once you get used to keeping track of the middle of your design and which way is “North” then you can do some amazing layered designs. The original company for stamping with clear stampers is actually called “Clear Jelly Stamper” and almost all of their stamping plates on their website are layered designs. Some have lots of layers, where each one is a different colour and it builds a picture. If you search for them on Instagram or TH-cam, or search for people using their plates, you should find some really good tutorials for layered stamping with videos that you can follow. Once it clicks in your mind, I promise it’s really easy and the designs you can create are so detailed that they honestly look like a fancy painting! Check them out if you’d like to learn more. Hope that helps!! You did a great job on this design considering you had to try and place each “dot” by yourself. It’s much easier if you can line them all up at once and just stamp them all together. Have fun with it if you decide to practice. It’s both incredibly annoying but incredibly satisfying to master! 😂❤
Thank you! I will practice more!
Such clever use of the mountain image for icebergs. Well done, these are brilliant!
Thank you!
Cute!
Thank you
Wow! Okay, these are so, so beautiful!! 💜💙🩷🤍
Thank you!
I’m not mad at that!
Yess so good!❤❤
Thank you

❤❤❤
Do you always cut them and let them regrow or do you sometimes just file them to keep them the same length? I’m usually camp “file”, I literally gift people crystal glass nail files because I love them so much 😂 I only really cut my nails if I break one and want them all to match. Then I sadly chop them all off (mine are long so having one short one is really obvious) and then I grow them out again so they’re all equal lengths. My husband even carries a glass file in a protective case in his work bag, just in case he needs it while he’s at work.
It usually depends on how I'm feeling in the moment. Most of the time, I will just trim one if I need to and let it grow without cutting the others. However, I do have moments when I feel the need to do a fresh start and just trim them all. I always have a file on me. You never know. 🩷
@ starting fresh can be really nice! Plus it’s fun to do nail art that only looks good on short nails. There are some looks that just don’t work well with long nails. I saw you do the big chop for New Year and you said it’s kind of a tradition for you. I thought that was really cool, seeing you mention them being your preferred length again, it just made me wonder if you prefer to cut or file at times other than New Year. I have a mini glass file that goes everywhere with me (it’s so cute, like 90cm/3.5inch) because I hate that feeling when you have a chipped nail snagging on things! Thanks for the insight!
@YllebNails Sometimes! That's why I switched the short nail series to false small nails. That was I can continue all year!
Thank you SO much for this Daisy, this looks just how I was hoping it would look and totally makes me want Off Tropic! Off to Amazon I go lol. You’re a star, thank you! ⭐️💫🌟💫⭐️
Thank you! I love this polish!!!! I have it linked in the original video if that helps!
@ I found it, thank you so much! Once I get this one, I’ll have quite a few deep greens and I honestly cannot wait for Autumn to roll around again because I want to do a green skittle mani. I think a different rich green on each nail, with either the gold flake and/or “fallen flake” on top and a matte finish will look like a walk in the woods when the leaves are changing and starting to fall!! It would look awesome with some black and gold Autumnal stamped designs on top too. Your video really set me off and I’ve already added it to my list of ideas for nail art. Thanks so much for doing it for me, it really is so helpful and greatly appreciated!!
But holo taco holos are way better then the one your using lmao.. it actually looks like a temu version of holo taco.. orrr you get paid to use those polishes. Bc who wouldn’t want to use them smh 🤦♀️
I don't get paid to use anything. All the things I use are on my own terms. I am perfectly happy with the polish brands I use. 🩷
Orly has some good polishes and people can like whatever they want. Good job shouting out holo taco!
What I like about Daisy Nails is she shows us ways to use the nail polishes we have on hand to achieve a similar look. I like the idea of not having to buy a certain brand. Holo Taco is very expensive not everyone can afford it. Thanks Daisy Nail.😊
Hey, I love Holo Taco polishes, don’t get me wrong, but I also still have the ORLY ColourPass subscription, I bought a bunch of Mooncat last night and thanks to this video I’m about to buy some Essie… I also buy polishes from lots of other brands too. Liking one in particular, no matter how good you think it is, doesn’t make all others bad or the people that use them wrong or stupid. The ORLY gold flake topper she used does the job perfectly, especially as she already had it on hand which means I got my answer quickly (thank you, Daisy!!) I personally have a lot of ORLY and love their formula, their brushes, the rubber bottle lids, the massive bottle size etc etc. I only asked if she had Holo Taco specifically because I was curious what their “Fallen Flake” topper would look like with the gorgeous green Essie base but I did specify that I would be happy with a gold flake topper by ANY brand as that is more than good enough for me to be able to make a decision about whether I buy the Essie green! I can easily extrapolate from seeing the ORLY gold flake and know that if it looks great, Fallen Flake Taco (or Gold Flake Taco) will also look amazing. Holo Taco rocks, I get it, but it isn’t to everyone’s taste or budget and I’d never expect Daisy to spend money on something she doesn’t actually want, just for the sake of showing me what it looks like in a 60 second clip. I’m incredibly grateful that she did this at all, as it’s firmly cemented the fact that I want to buy Essie, Off Tropic. I personally will wear it with a gold flake topper as shown here and I will absolutely be trying it out with Holo Taco’s Fallen Flake Taco and Matte Taco too once I have this beautiful green. Please don’t be rude to someone just because they’re not really interested in a particular brand. Daisy does a fabulous job with this channel and has helped me out a lot between her swatch reviews, nail art tutorials, organisational videos, the list goes on. We can love something (like Holo Taco) without being rude to people who don’t. Belittling someone because they’re not using something you like is not the best way to get them to want to try the thing you love, it will probably do the opposite! Maybe she’ll end up trying it and liking it in the future, maybe she won’t, it doesn’t matter! I still appreciate her making this video and helping me decide whether to buy the Essie polish. We’re all here because we love nail polish/art, if we all liked the exact same things there would be way fewer companies and therefore way fewer options for us all to play with. Differences are good for everyone!
@@YllebNails thank you! I appreciate your kind words! I was happy to do it!
Oohh the Annabelle is gorgeous 💚
I love that one!
Love the sparkle.
Thats cute!
Thank you
I'm noticing that all of your zoyas level out beautifully and are opaque with only 2 coats! Im looking into them i usually use essie or opi😊
While I love Zoya. Not every polish is Opaque in 2 coats. Some take 3. I love Essie as well
@ I will keep that in mind thanks☺️
I wore Andrea a a mani last week. I really like this polish too❤
🩷
Oh my word, they are ADORABLE 🐧😱
Thank you
Ok!
Can you do nails with daisies on them? Please
I have a design coming up with that, but I can do one sooner!
Slay I love them!
Thank you!
Girl thank you😊😊 was running out of vday ideas!
Well, you're in luck! I have many more planned!
Cute! I love the idea of doing some clouds or leaves with this method. Something else for me to experiment and play with 😊
Thank you! Have fun!
Hey, you mentioned in the video that you’re not sure what to call this style. This type of polish is called either a “duochrome” if it shifts between two colours or a “multichrome” if it shifts between a bunch of colours. I thought I’d comment just because it will make it easier for you to find more of this style if you know what to search for! I have to agree with your assessment though, this is a particularly beautiful shade! I’m funny with multichromes, I adore some and hate others. I’m not a fan of the ones that have bronze AND green with pinks/purples. I don’t mind just bronze, or just green, but both together with those two other colours just… nah, not my thing. I might have to get Andrea though as she’s a stunner!
Thank you! I will remember that.
Okay, now you’ve *really* got me 😂 I am obsessed with butterflies, my house and garden are filled with butterfly everything. I immediately went straight on Amazon UK to see if these are available here and it turns out they are, along with another similar one with a slightly different butterfly pattern. Immediately added them to my wishlist. I just need to double check the measurements against the size of the drawers I use for my nail stuff, just to double check they’ll fit before I order them. Thanks for sharing this, much appreciated!
I love butterlies!!!! Glad to help
Are you wearing polish while you are doing this?
Nope. However you totally can!
Awesome, photo album’s for stickers?! That’s genius! I currently keep all my nail stickers/striping tape/little bags of charms in a Quality Street tub (chocolates that English people seem to only buy big tubs of at Christmas!) but I’m rapidly running out of space and I have to take then all out to find what I want which is not ideal. A photo album could be a really good solution if I can find one that fits in the drawers I have. 🤔 I was already planning on getting an album style folder to keep all my stamping plates in as they’re currently in a small shortbread tin. I’m not sure why it didn’t occur to me to do the same for the stickers but this video has been really helpful! Thank you very much! I’m about to go to sleep but I’ll check out your organisation playlist tomorrow. My drawers/shelves are fairly neat for now but it’s always good to see how other people do it!
Always my goal to help! Check out the video I did on these. The binders I used are linked if you're interested 😀
These are so sweet, I love them and I think you did a great job with their faces, they’re super cute. I’m rather sarcastic so if I’d had to do “polar bear” as a theme more than once, I’d just do the classic old joke thing of “paint my nails white and say it’s a polar bear in a snowstorm.” as a protest at the theme! You are clearly a better person than I am 😂
Thank you! While I love doing the nail challenges, I will be honest that I am getting tired of certain themes. I just try to plan something different each time 🙂
@@daisynails.nailtutorialsan9924 I think it can be really difficult if they’re repeating themes each year as you don’t want to do the same each time but finding new ideas for the same thing over and over really isn’t easy. I think you did a great job with these despite not being particularly excited about the theme. Hopefully the other days will gift you a theme that makes your heart sing and your mind race with lots of fun ideas!
It looks like a black shade!! Cool color
These are really cute!!
Thank you!

This is *gorgeous*, Daisy! That colour is the perfect deep, rich, winter “evergreen” polish! I love it. I would so love to see what this looks like with either a gold flake topper or something that has multiple colours like Holo Taco’s “Fallen Flake Taco” (it’s straight up looks exactly like the fallen leaves of autumn/winter and it would be fire with this look), but still with the matte finish on it all because somehow those flakie toppers over a rich, dark colour with a matte finish are just 😮. Would you be willing to show what that looks like if you have anything like that? No worries if not, I know not everyone likes/has toppers!
Thank you! I do have a gold topper polish that I love. I don't have any Holo Taco products. I can make a short for it!
@@daisynails.nailtutorialsan9924 the gold flake would be so good if you don’t mind? I love gold flake at this time of year and if it pairs the way I think it will then it will absolutely work with Holo Taco’s Fallen Flake as well. You’ve made me want Off Tropic and if the flake looks the way I imagine, I will almost certainly add it to my collection of green polish. Some people hate green but I love it, I’d be able to do a cute skittle mani of all different shades of green, tied together with the flake topper and matte topcoat! 💚
This is seriously impressive for someone that’s not naturally ambidextrous, well done! I noticed at the end that your lines were getting thicker as you went along. I find it’s best to just wipe the brush on a lint free pad after every few lines to take off the excess. Otherwise the paint/polish starts to dry on the brush and makes it harder to keep your lines thin and even. It also makes the brush less flexible which means your shakes transfer through the brush much more than they do when it’s flexible! Also, especially for the first two, long “cross” lines but even some of the others, I find using a longer brush makes doing straight lines (or wavy ones that you want to be smooth curves!) so, so much easier. In this Easy Sweater Nail th-cam.com/video/YEQ3loy6Khs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kaI0kBJJ3FM32Mxv video by YoungNailsInc, she does some long thin lines and shows you how using the long thin brush makes it so much easier to get beautiful, straight, even lines. She’s using gel but it applies to acrylic paints too!! Once I bought a set of super fine, thin 7mm, 9mm, 11mm, 15mm and 25mm length liner brushes, my freehanding skills improved instantly and my straight lines are easier because the brushes work with me instead of against me. It also means that if your hands are shaking, the long brush prevents most of the shake from going through the bristles and onto the nail, it smoothes your line work out for you despite your hand being wobbly. Genius!! Also, yes, 😂 I think everyone I’ve ever spoken to about this holds their breath when painting, it really does help!! (Delete this message once you’ve read it, you don’t want it clogging up your comments. I just thought it might help! I’m not saying do sweater nails again by the way, just happens to be a pretty good video for showing the long brush!) ❤
Thanks for the advice!
Also, please note that I keep comments up on my videos as long as they are polite 😊 plus, if they can help someone then it's an added bonus ❤
These are soooooooo prettyyyy!!!
Thank you!
@@daisynails.nailtutorialsan9924 ofc!!
What's the design on your thumb. Cool.
Peppermint swirls!
Definitely I will try it
Have fun!
Ok. Wanted to say that I actually hated how this design came together. I decided to show it because I think it's important to share when designs don't go how you expected. After seeing some of the designs that others are doing for this theme... I really wish I had done something different 😅 I am not going to redo this.. I will just choose another idea next time 😊
❤
I've been wanting to try a french tip with regular polish, i'm going to give the sponge a try!!❤
😊
they both look crusty :0
The polish was so thin that it started drying one me.
Why does it look like your polish partially cured on the stamper? Are you using regular polish? These methods work best with gel or gel stamping polish.
I am using regular polish. I don't use nor own gel products. The reason it looked like that, was, the polish started drying on me. Wasn't to happy about that.
@daisynails.nailtutorialsan9924 I'm sure! Lol, guess you'll need to work on speeding it up. But if you're using regular polish the best method may be to brush the tip on with a brush. then use a different clean brush with a little acetone to clean up the line.. I find this works very well for regular polish.
Your skin looks softer compared to videos from day 4-6 imho :) and those series are reminding me to use hand cream, thanks :)
Yeah, I agree. The first few days are always going to look worse 😅 Glad to give you the reminder
Good picks! I just started using Zoya last year and oh boy! I'm shocked I didn't get on that bandwagon a long time ago. I really like the polishes I got. I took advantage of their last sale also! TFS!
I have been using Zoya since I was little. My mom used it, and once I started nail art, she gave me her collection. I love the brand, and I take advantage of very good deals!
Really cool
Very cute 😍 💚
Thank you!
