TALKIN' JAZZ 1994 Herbie Hancock

The main feature of Talkin' Jazz episode 17 was Herbie Hancock's interview, about his major success with Head Hunters' Rock it. That was the first time I heard of Nam Myoho Renge Kyo Buddhism. Three years later I started chanting and I still do with consistency, that's the reason this interview is very dear to me.

Thank you for sharing ! I love Chris,lovely lady,RIP
Great video 😀 I wonder if the “Down in Hollywood” video is available anywhere
Very fascinating and inspirational documentary! Thanks for sharing!
I was so surprised Ry did a TV commercial ad, now especially after hearing this interview 😂
So basically he went through life getting everyone to try and talk him out of being an addict. So sad for those who lost that battle along the way.
beautiful!
He’s a great storyteller. Gift to the universe.😊
Wonderful story from his childhood, getting that guitar, magic carpet. What a gift.❤️
I just would like to feel that extraordinary strength and vision ... of that extreme total transition .. within everything turned upside down. and no safe mooring except will, art, oneself. Wonderful to watch and take in. Thanks 🌻:)
First saw Rubalcaba at Mt. Fuji Jazz Festival around 1993. Totally mind blowing, he and his band were.
Larry was always worth listening to, both in his playing and speaking. A musical genius in my book.
❤
I saw F. Mac 14 times 1968/77. With Peter G./ Danny K./ Jeremy S. / Bob Welch / Bob Weston / Lindsey B. Such great musical memories. He reminds me of Ringo in that his playing was what was needed and always creative + innovative. Thanks for this.
U gotta admit Peter with Danny was and will always be the best line up
@greenmanalishi6963 Yes. And Danny + Bob Welch made 2 outstanding albums...Future Games / Bare Trees. Nothing shabby there.
@@jimfritz2087 bob Welch is the reason Danny through his les Paul at the wall and quit
@@greenmanalishi6963 Let's be honest here. There were many reasons. Alcohol was a big factor . And there were others.
@@jimfritz2087 fair enough. Would you mind sharing a story of what it was like seeing Peter and Danny play? Especially their blues numbers
Yes, Jay mama only allowed gospel music. However I remember so well how we set outdoors those hot summer weekend nights listening to the music coming from the Manhattan Casino growing up.
RIP CHRISTINE MCVIE MY SONGBIRD IN 2022❤
Mick Fleetwood is always the snappiest Brit gentleman dresser ever! Add on creative drummer as well! Cool band loved the old stuff w Greenie. Sad story . Though I only saw all this on video. Bc I wasn’t born until 1961 & 1/2 UK get the satire but as female….. I do agree Peter was one of the finest,up next to Clapton just listen to those lyrics,😢 But the tragedy of this spiked drink” was what I heard Groupie gave him all it took was send the poor guy. I miss his spirit & talent. McVie is super pissed you see the darkness But NO ONE COULDVE STOPPED HIM? Mick, the artful dodger!” ❤
What an extraordinary human. Love ya, Mick. ❤️
Excellent interview with some great music clips. I liked what he had to say about his attitude to Grammy awards.
His Mom was a Hoot.
loved thisman ,still do
Where did this come from?
Hi KF, This documentary was produced by CreaTVty company in London UK at the beginning of this millennium. It was broadcasted in many countries worldwide by major TV stations. I have executive produced it and co-directed it. Mick Fleetwood's collaboration was fundamental in the making of this documentary. In my opinion is a great piece of filming.
@@richardjournomusicvideoarc4579 Thank you for that. I’m surprised I’ve never seen it before 🤔is there any other hidden docs on here? I found this from a link on a website. I like watching anything on the band or band members. 🧡
@@richardjournomusicvideoarc4579in my opinion, as well. Good show mate
Thanks for this
Just an observation but does Russell have a mild form of autism or something in these lines?
Thank you for posting this, Richard! And thank you for the compliments 😊 Big hugs ❤
Brilliant, timeless. Long live BHEKI MSELEKU!
Hi Richard ! Just posted an Upscaled version of the interview i recorded back then. I tried my best, it's not "amazing", i'm bad at color grading, but hope it's ok (didn't check the sound, so hope there is no out of sync issue too lol). Thanks again to have filmed and directed these great interviews ! th-cam.com/video/F3tk_GTod5A/w-d-xo.html
Thank you very much, I don’t have your details but I am sure I know you, please send me a messenger msg in private you may find it on my Facebook profile as Richard Journo. Cheers
@@WhiteRoomMusicLtd yes, we talked before, you wrote a message on one of my video of the talkin jazz that i posted on my channel. it was last year.
Я видел и раньше это интервью, очень жаль,что нет никаких субтитров,хотелось бы понять о чем Марк говорит.
@Tony haha, yeah right, slagging on the queen isn't politically incorrect, nor is speaking positive about Donald Trump, and pointing out things like, "lazy sods living on the dole", got it... 🙄
Really?............an intelligent person would say the truth that you're country's shite under biden and like him or not you made a mistake getting rid of trump........its ridiculous what a laughing stock you lot are now
@@realsinisterminister regarding Biden & Trump we were given the choice between 2 horribly incompetent, weak old men, I hate them both & all the clowns in DC. I hope I live long enough to see competent, tough but compassionate leaders emerge from the next generation coming of age to restore the USA to a new Era where decisions are based on FACTS & SCIENCE & lies in public discourse are called out & anyone engaging in them are immediately kicked out of office.
@@littlefeet4177 In that case you would have no president at all?.....but Biden is the worst you've had ever ....and as for the vice pres..........well she's insane...Trump might not be a great person at all but he is right about just about everything that he was saying.....from the border to the policy on Russia/China etc.........one of the only people that could keep peace and be hated for it?....and told Germany and Europe the truth about Russian dependance and got laughed at...........but right again.....you lot really wanna beg his forgivness and get him back look at the state of you?
Thanks!
Did anyone get that take away. What did the seller said to the buyer? "Stick at it"
2022 and this is still relevant 🙌🏾

Thanks for posting this, I had not seen it before.
4:50 what is the name of the song that playing in the background?
It's Darling Pretty.
@@KNOPFLERSGOD Thank you. This is the first time that I listn to this amazing love song.
@@buddwik2719 it was Mark's first single from his first solo album, called Golden Heart, which is a great album too.
@@KNOPFLERSGOD Wow. Thanks again. I want to search for more songs. He is the fantastic artist I have ever seen. TH-cam sugested me one of his songs "Sultan of swing" few months ago and that was the first time that I listened to a his song. Later I found many songs and I love them. There is a beauty in all those songs that any person can make feel positive and happy. Btw. I'm from a South Asian country
@@buddwik2719 my advice is to listen to the album version first, then listen to the live version, they are an amazing live band, and Mark is a wonderful live player.
Thank you for sharing. The quality of the support (image and sound) helps to enjoy...
One of his latest interview it was th-cam.com/video/yIX80ksU9-M/w-d-xo.html
Dunno, always found him telling streight up truth but at the same time his apparent arrogance and self centered, self proclaimed superiority, dismissing anyone and everyone, including his band mates is quite annoying. No doubt intentionally or not, they've changed the history, I just wish he wasn't so deep up his own arse, not to mention his more recent statement. They've made a massive impact, full stop. just wish I wasn't constantly reminded about it by "back to me" little Johnny having done all these things singlehandedly and with such a foresight. I'm just not so sure, I think he'd have got more respect had he been a bit more humbled about it as S Jones has been. But then again, I'm sitting in my bedroom judging, offering nothing...
I feel the same about this, but at least John seems to have mellowed/humbled a bit with age...sad circumstances to his life in recent years may have matured him. I wish him the best.
Yeah !!!!!!!!!! (but please can you activate the automatated subtitle / CC please ? can't follow them :( )
Thank you very much for your comment yes please subtitles are on now Cheers Richard
John Lydon is a genius. ❤
Thank you ☺️
Says it how it is as always

Brilliant, always gives the PC Stormtroopers a run for their money...
The finest blues rock man alive. A true legend
You definitely accomplished your mission Larry by not only advancing the art form to new heights that nobody knew was possible but you provided more inspiration than I can put into words ! I'm so glad I got to tell you as much shortly before you passed. I miss you terribly ~ we all do, but thankfully your music and inspiration will live on with us within our hearts forever!
