Sustainable Health, Agriculture, Protection & Empowerment by ADRA
Sustainable Health, Agriculture, Protection & Empowerment (SHAPE), works in a space to elevate the integration of the indigenous approaches and practices of hangai te heke mai (SHAPE the Future), to bring to life the ultimate goal of communities who are self-reliant, resilient and who SHAPE their own future. In ADRA NZ indigenous approaches comes from how we support our partners; through Māori values of manaakitanga (duty of care), kaitiakitanga (stewardship, leading by example) and whanaungatanga (oneness or collectivism), and whakaiti (humility). for our in-country partners, indigenous approaches mean stripping back the foreign language in development and re-defining in their local context.
