    How does anybody know what they have? The Scleroderma and Lupus pages say the people all have similar symptoms.

    • @ArthritisQld
      @ArthritisQld 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bgirl291 Hi, sorry about the late reply. For some types of arthritis blood tests are indicators, ie rheumatoid factor for RA. Unfortunately not everyone who has RA has the rheumatoid factor. X rays can also be used. If you have symptoms of inflammatory arthritis you will generally be referred to a rheumatologist. They are the specialists in this area, so they have a number of diagnostics that they use.

    What medication are you on please? I have RA and nothing has worked well so far apart from prednisolone which I have been on 7 years and want to come off because its weakened my bones.

  • @evalam530
    @evalam530 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi! I'm 24 and and I have rheumatoid arthritis. I was diagnosed in 2009, and I was on prednisone for 2 yrs along with other meds that didn't really worked for me. As of today I'm taking humira injections every other week and I'm also on methotrexate and mobic as needed. Well I have to admit i haven't been taking methotrexate like im supposed to for the past 2 months and a half just because my hair is really falling out.. It's been 5 yrs that i have been taking metho. My RA is pretty calm right now, but now I believe I have developed 2 new autoimmune diseases, and those are Vitiligo and Addison's disease. I have not been diagnosed, but I have done my research and that's what everything points to. I'm really sad, I feel like ppl don't understand me, coworkers or even my family.. I try to explain and they now some times im in pain and that I have to take meds, but i just feel alone in this. Now with this new diseases that I may have makes me think that I can keep developing more autoimmune diseases and it's just really heard to think that I will need to take meds for all my life.. It's just really really depressing, and I wonder what about if i don't have medical insurance tomorrow? What will I do?.. I don't want to be stuck in a bed suffering in pain without able to move ever never again! Just the thought of it, it's really scary! :(

    God bless you for sharing your story. I am a healthy 37 year old woman, from the U.S. who was diagnosed only 1 month ago with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Well I call it SeriouslyRAD. RAD stands for Rheumatoid Autoimmune Disease because SeriouslyRAD is so much more than the arthritis symptoms for me. The Seriously part came about as I kept finding myself crying out, "SERIOUSLY?!" with each new symptom. I'm still learning and have a long way to go. Thank you!

    Thanks for posting this. I'm 27 from New Zealand. I too thought in the early days that I had just overworked some muscle groups, until it went right through my body. Thanks for taking the time to share you story as it's been hard for me to find other people my own age who share this disease. The hardest thing for me this year has been dealing with the side effects of Methotrexate - did you have trouble with this also?

    this video is very inspiring . It describes me very well. I think it will finally get me to the doctor. I have had arthritis badily for 2 years and have not gone to the doctor due to no health coverage. I have tried to ward off symptons witha vegan diet. It helps a little. Im affraid i have come to a dark enough point where i need meds. thanks
