Leaves you aboslutely yearning for solace and respite, and yet it's undeniable the WILD ride it takes you through... Unforgettable ride. Not something I dare to listen in the dead of night but I appreciate Xiu Xiu for making this crushingly bleak and disturbed album.

Gonna have to make a video on this myself because this is clearly not getting enough attention. A video I just posted the other day included a song from the TH-cam audio library called "Cold Rise" by Gunnar Olsen. Apparently JZ pulled his signature move on this one too, reposting it and renaming it to "Enemy". I don't know how this guy has made it as far as he has unchecked, but it's totally unacceptable.

In the rock-pop mtv scene of the 2000s this album felt expansive and haptic because everything was 3:00 minute short and with bad instrumentation behind it. Here, you have actual musicians but a bad singer, the other way around from LP and I actually prefer it this way

Billie produced her first song for another artist. It came out the other day.. The song is called "Soft Kissing Hour" by Nat & Alex Wolff (billies friends) It's pretty cool to see "Produced by: Billie Eilish" next to a song not by billie or finneas 😁

And for "The Diner", it is from the perspective of a stalker stalking billie. She's had multiple stalkers.

I'm sure you already know what Wildflower is about by now. A sort of love "triangle." It involved Billie, a friend and a friends boyfriend. Jesse Rutherford was billie's ex boyfriend. But before that, he was Devon Lee Carson's boyfriend. She owns a phone company case called... Wildflower. Jesse and Devon Lee fell out of love and both let go. Billie was there as a shoulder to cry on for Devon. And then a few months later, billie ended up in a relationship with Jesse. She kept seeing devon in the back of her mind.. all the time. Did billie cross the line? Yes.. she did lol

Love this album so much

This came out the same year as Linkin Park's meteora. That album managed to have slow emotional moments and hard aggressive moments just like this album tried to do. Meteora still managed to be short sweet and less gross.
