Awesome work boys
Holy! That is a lot of bloody tahr, wanted to get on'em for ages but dont know where too look, atleast for a spot that aint private anyway. Stoacked you got a nice bull by the way! :)
Doc will be happy
I just watched this video for the second time, and I have to say it again, that's a stunning piece of hunting land you were on. I think it's fantastic that you give away your donated gear. How about this, when you do another video, how about giving away a hunt with you! If it was in the South Island I'd enter. Anyway, thank you for sharing and keep up making these great videos.
Cheers heaps mate, I've always said that anything that I get given through TH-cam I will give back too viewers, I have been sent 3 more items I will be giving away at some point too, yeah that's a really good idea you have there too, cheers.
@@altitudehunting I'm 70 years young and getting into some of these DOC blocks that are NOT shot out is getting harder for these legs these days. That is why I got my Samurai's engine rebuilt, hoping to drive at least some of the way. But the Suzi is also my everyday drive too, so the 4x4 drive cannot be that hard for it because I can't afford to lose it! I'm off next week chasing goats, chamois and pigs for a couple of days; there are deer there too, but I have enough venison in the freezer, so don't want any more, unless it's a stag with a better head, from the one I already have, but that shouldn't be difficult 😂.
Awesome bro 👏🏽
Great video bro dam possum came out on top this time 😅
Haha cheers Rev!
As usual mate great video Didn’t see you knocking over some of those nannies. Hope you did tip a few over especially given there’s far too many around that spot
Hey Grant, cheers for the comment, yeah we shot 7 animals in total but even that would have hardly made a dent in the numbers, but if everyone takes a few in these highly populated areas it's going to help get it to a manageable level. Cheers
it took me a few minutes to recognise the spots - man they look different without snow and ice.
Yeah mate, the tahr change colour greatly throughout the year. Cheers
I know the two thumbs just got a clean up but doc shouldnt be taking bulls out, especially in full cape as its easy to distinguish them. Grrr
Rechunters have had 30 years to demonstrate they can contribute to pest population maintenance prescribed according to the agreed to Tahr Plan. And the target has not been met.
Hey Stan, I'm not actually sure how the bull died, there wasn't a noticeable bullet hole in it, hope your going well mate.
Hey John yeah I agree, the tahr population is pretty uncontrollable by recreational hunters, we shot 7 animals on this trip in total but that didn't make the smallest dent in the numbers, we have done over nighters to locations and spotted over 240 tahr, it's crazy! Cheers
@altitudehunting true, I shouldn't assume. Good stuff man, really enjoy your channel as well. Just good down to earth trips. 👌👍😊
@altitudehunting sheesh that's crazy numbers.
Numbers building up in there again. You need a"possum stick" as well in your kit.
Cheers mate, yeah or i just need to be a bit faster with the buggers, Cheers.

Cheers Chrispy, yeah there are plenty around out there at the moment, Cheers.
Great to see they are severely destroying (or have destroyed) the environment?
Great video Johny! Does Hunter's Element make a full body gaiters because some places have man sized Spaniards! : )
cheers Hanno, haha i think i would avoid hunting in those areas, hope your going well mate.

Cheers Sean, looking forward too it!
Another great video from this channel and thank you for sharing your adventure. As a 70-year-old and one who has been shooting since a kid. I only came to centrefire hunting in the last five years as most of my hunting was with muzzle loading shotguns, but twenty years ago, I bought my first ML rifle and once I could hit what I was aiming at, I started hunting. Check out th-cam.com/video/-JaVfMHt33U/w-d-xo.html Now looking to see/shoot my first Tahr and Chamois, as a retiree, no helicopters for me, I try to drive in as far as I can, then take these old legs as far as they will go. Planning a trip into central Canterbury once the kids are back in school and a get a weather break for a couple of days. I have my private land permission and the DOC block looks promising. Looking forward to more of your Sth Island adventures.
Thank you very much, good on you for getting out there. And best of luck with your adventures into the mountains down here. Cheers

Loving your videos. Alot of the areas I've hunted myself, nice to be sitting at home on a shitty cold night re-living hunts thanks to you. Mate you don't have much faith in the 7mm08 200 yards. :)
Cheers for the comment Phil, yeah haven't had it in the range enough to be too confident just yet, cheers.
