Thank you!! I had so much fun in Japan! Lovely country ✨🥰

Loved this vid style! You’re an engaging storyteller!!
HAHAHA thanks friend!!! I just love YAPPING 🤭
This girl is like a character out of a movie
I hope that’s a good thing LOL
YOO the food looks sick cant wait to go
Soooo much fun! U gotta go!!
Do you have to turn your webcam on everyday during meetings?
I usually always have my camera on for meetings unless it’s a company wide meeting. I just find it more respectful to the person presenting/speaking
I missed ur couple of videos with the workload i have thank you for giving me motivation 1 year ago i hope you’re doing best in ur life.
Aw thanks very sweet thank youu!!!!!
I will be coming to Montreal soon, your vlog helped me a lot to become relax a little.thanks.
Thanks! That’s very sweet
I know the current market is crazy but please can you help. A new commer with some recommendations in Montreal right now? Ps: I am ready to share my resumé and portfolio if you can help me with that
i would love to see a video on how you structured the portfolio in great detail please.
😍
You're kidding right. How in this world someone is going to become UX/UI designer in just two months. No doubt you're very convincing talking about basic concepts. But you need more than that to become a decent designer in the field.
I've wasted my nights You turned out the lights Now I'm paralyzed Still stuck in that time When we called it "Love"
2 times a week to the office exhausting? Imagine a working day (only 1 of the 5) of a construction worker. Be happy.
Loved this video, kind wish I was in the video. I'm a Nigerian btw and just started an internship as a Product Designer here in Nigeria. Funny how most of the work activities in your video are the same back here. Hopefully I could get a product design job in Canada and become a citizen
Hey Hi. Phenomenal Video! I am doing a program in Durham college Oshawa it’s called interactive media design and they are teaching me photoshop, illustrator, premier pro, figma, html, css, javascript and in the next semester i might also have motion graphics. It’s of 4 semesters. Do you think I could get a job after this program, and if what job can i get?
These videos "a day in the life" are 90% about personal vlogging and very little about ux or ui design.
its very difficult to find a uxui designer job in mtl. if u have zero exp. and nothing in your porfolio you will not find a job even with a google certificate
Helpful
Thank you soo much! SUper helpful, I graduated last year and have to rebuild my portfolio. Great insights!
Yo! I had to subscribe when you said "bitch so rude" lmao...love your content already xx
Talk about the work you do please
Hi Helen, thank you for all your sharing about the journey. I'm 30yrs old right now and trying to change my career path from Digital Marketing to an UXUI Designer. But I'm not sure if I could have my first dream job at this career. Could you please share more about the challenges to get the job when we're over 30s. Glad to be hearing from you soon =)
shout out to fried rice, delicious fr
1 question. if im not a big fan of presenting but passionate about ux research/ui design, should i go for it?
Literally, at this point thats my situation. Like you said YOU NEVER KNOW. I also have coding experience. I just finished a Bootcamp in UXUI. Wow what a great video Thank you so much for this insight. It was meant for me to see this. Thank you PS What roadmap did you take for the product design. Thank you
Hi, whats the roadmap to becoming a product designer?
the job market is terrible nowadays :((( does anybody have any advice for people looking for ux design jobs now?
So with all your education you actually did not become a ux designer in 2 months. Very misleading.
Hi! Just to clarify I had no formal education in UX and UI classes. I did for sure have the coding bootcamp certificate and graphic design cegep degree that could have increase my chances of getting the job. But I did finish my certificate for coding in May and landed the job in July!
Omg this just happened to me!! lol no joke!! I went to a coding group and was in the process of a coding certification course.. I had to pause!! I’m good with adobe, Figma,Squarespace , Shopify, etc!! So tech savvy with these design softwares!! At heart I’m a designer!! Yessss lol I’m with you!! I wouldn’t be happy coding all day and not using my creativity! I’m back in the UI/UX!! I’ve tried other things also!! I always come back to the world of design!! Must be meant to be!!
i hear about alot of people finding themselves in the same situation as me!
In your field, do you design only websites?
We also do apps!
wow it's so cool that you got to experience the total solar eclipse!
Yes it was amazing! I am so down to see a total eclipse again 90 seconds wasnt long enough lol
Product designer here from México! My hometown Mazatlán was like a very popular spot to watch the solar eclipse and it was magical! We had like almost 5 minutes of totality. So glad you could experience it too!
That’s awesome!! In Montreal it was only 90 seconds but I’m still so grateful I got to experience it
5:33 homie behind you with the binoculars gotta be blind now right
😂😂😂 i thought the same but when i got closer i noticed he had the right lenses to protect himself from the rays
girl your outfits are amazing love it SO MUCH
Thank you 🥰
6:04 chills! only got to see the partial eclipse, but nothing beats a total eclipse 🥺
Hope you get to see a total eclipse one day! It’s really such an amazing experience 🥹
6:05 W eclipse shot
Craziest thing to see in person
Loved your video and the breakdown of your UX/product design journey 😍 I also transitioned to UX in 2020 but had a different path from my architectural engineering background 👋🏻
Thanks awesome :) lots of people transition from different career path. My coworker transition from environmental engineering into UX
You're younger than me (I'm coming to my design realisations a bit late, heh) -- but your feelings and interests are very similar to mine! The whole being good at math, but also needing to be creative -- it's so strange that as a society people often assume that those two things aren't compatible.
Lips tho. And now the market is over crowded by designers
*promosm* 💐
keep going love ur vlogs as a ui/ux designer myself i wanna vlog like you too
Do it :) nothing is stopping you
@@helen_melen I’m glad you replied love you and ur content so much keep up the success 🥺🥺🥺
super motivating to watch! although im not un UX UI, it's super fascinating to learn about other industries and roles like this 😄
really love your vlogs ❤
Yay thanks for watching :)
Love this! Hi from SF - fellow Canadian
Thanks!! 🫶🏻
What do you think of the product design program at Université Laval in Quebec city? Do you think it's a good start if I'm finishing cegep? Thanks!
I quickly looked at the program and it seems like it’s tangible product design! What i do is product designs for web and apps (ux/ui design) so I never work on tangible designs but if that is something you’re interested, go for it!
Enjoyed! :D
hi helen, are the estimates on the youtube studio close to what you actually earn, how much do you make per view? :) i.e the 36 dollars you earned in the first month, how much did you earn after tax or at all besides the estimate
Phenomenal! Very detailed and no bullshit describing your your path. What did your first 30-90 days looks like on the job since this was all new ? You were using a concept project to gain your experience versus using an actual company’s project .
My first 30-90 basically learned the ways of working. The processes on how people at my job designed and then slowly transitioning to actual company project
you say on the title no degree but you have graphic design degree
I never received a bachelors in graphic design or UX UI design. I only have a DEC in graphic design.
