You never know what we find. On this trip we saw deer and moose. There were fish, jumping everywhere. We. JUST ,,,,,, WELL Watch the episode and let me know if this is something you guys are into. Also, let me know if you have any more cool that you like to see me go,, or join us on a trip sometime

Courtney Lake Huge Rainbow Trout
มุมมอง 3316 หลายเดือนก่อน
On a road trip from Calgary to Kelowna from Kelowna to Vancouver. Driving over the 97C we were passing by this lake and there was a small parking spot. I pulled over and fish from shore using a red and white Lynn Thompson. I originally thought that I caught a log or a rock because it hits so hard. Of course, the fish in the thumbnail was increased in size compared to the video to make a nice at...
Bow River Drift boat fish with Wendybird
มุมมอง 1266 หลายเดือนก่อน
Late June float down the Bow River with Wendybird in the River sliver. It is an aluminum MacKenzie river drift boat. It definitely runs a little deeper than the standard fibreglass tape. However, there is no concern about hitting rocks because of the armour plated bottom. The water was very high very fast and silty. Wendy was fishing most of the trip using a chartreuse and silver number to Blue...

Hey everybody. This is my challenge to you over the holiday season to reconnect with the people in your life that you love. I've said it in lots of videos. This was an epic trip down to Puerto Vallarta Mexico in October. It was the rainy season however we did not get rained on except for one day. Unfortunately there's footage of catching some fish on my GoPro that got wet and now I have lost the footage as the files are corrupted. There was a Schnucks and a bunch of needle fish and Jack just from the shore using a Sobecki rig. Some of the fish we ...

BOW RIVER FISHING - 14 hour drift
มุมมอง 179ปีที่แล้ว
This particular drift was from the first place you can get into the river with a drift boat down to McKinnon Flats. We thought this trip would take around 11 hours but with all of our stopping and exploring it took over 14 hours. The water was very low and very very warm. The very next day fisheries Canada actually closed the river for fishing after 2 PM because the water temperature was too hi...
Lake Okanagan shore fishing.

A quick day trip for business and visited my friends in the afternoon. Wading into the water up to her armpits so we can test out over the weed bed. Spent a few hours floating up and down the Shoreline. No major monsters were caught but it was a fun day and it produced fish. If you're wondering where we were. This is over at the Fintry camping area across the lake from Kelowna. Fantastic public...

SEARCHING FOR SUMMER BULL TROUT IN THE RedDeer RIVER -
I've found a 5" glow 5 of diamonds Len Thompson to be quite effective for catching Chinook salmon by casting off of a pier at night during August and September.
Interesting. I've never tried it for salmon!
Try underneath the bridge, fish anywhere along that point. Ive caught all kinds of fish there, ive even seen the odd spawning Kokanee
Nice thanks
I didn't know about that product!
Worked well. Sold the boat and still solid
Do you think the braided steel leader costs you bites? I know pike will bite anything but I’ve been using 100lb fluoro leaders just for reduced visibility. I’d rather use my steel leaders
I lose to many on mono. They bite through.
Nice, where you find metal skid? How name it?
What lures have you had the most luck with? I've been fishing the bow the past month and have only caught 2 fish. I had one on today but I couldn't set the hook fast enough 😫 it looked like a big brown.
Honestly some sort of streamer with a lead head works pretty good. A C-5 or a C6 trout pattern Rapala works pretty good. Using a bobber with a trout magnet under it or a prince nymph or a pink hotspot wireworm works pretty good. My favourite is my yellow blue fox spinner but I don’t have great luck with that in the river. I’ve even caught big browns on 3 inch long lip diver pike patterns. My nephew caught the biggest pike of his life in the river on a orange and gold spoon. And then of course the classics. I like the five diamonds mostly chartreuse coloured and I like the red and white lemon Thompson but I actually like the white one with the red stripe. Silver back not brass
Yo Calgary local here! One thing I can recommend for the bow river is time of day.. catching those couple hourse before and after sunrise and sunset is the feeding hour for them big browns.. try some classic gold spinners with those fat bullets on there. Like a classic meps or blue fox! At least that's what I have luck with.. great idea of going with some soft plastics on a bobber for them deep holes, I'll have to give that a try!!
Also going with a single hook rather than a gaffer helps with the snags as we have WICKED moss matts
Great vid just gained a sub sorry for the spam lol
Thanks for watching man. And thanks for the tips I’ll definitely give those a try.
Shut up and fish.you spent more time walking and talking.
It's a small boat that repair will last you for ever good luck.
Gold on gold are the only ones I buy! Drives the fish Nutz..
Chartreuse works great around here
Interesting. Not a fan of mud, so definitely not for me
Fair enough!
I love that river. I grew up in Drumheller area. Now living in Okotoks catching the rainbows mainly.
nice.. great fishing down by you.. Thanks for watchin
0:06 have zero fishing etiquette. You walked straight up beside other people and cast your line. You have autism. No rainbow trout in the red deer. You can't even identify fish.
How long did this repair last?!
well I did it summer 2019. I sold the boat this winter and new owner is out enjoying the boat still right now. I suggest drilling smalller holes to leave in more wood meat. Good luck if you going to do this.
OMG you are the only person I've ever heard quote the Lost world. "Dont go into the long grass". I will subscribe just for that.
That’s how it starts. With the ooh and the ahhh and then comes the biting and the screaming. Thanks for watching and thanks for the subscription. Hit me up on messenger sometime if you’re ever in the area and you want to go fishing.
Nice video, nice fish. Good to see you back fishing on here.
More to come! Thanks for watching
That was a beauty bow! Nice! 🤙😎
Yes it was! Thanks for watching
There isn’t a massive head of fish in the Red Deer river and I used to find lots of night lines so I used to pull them out because unfortunately a lot of immigrants do not respect t the rules ,there is no need to kill everything.
Agree. I almost always catch and release. Thanks for watching
Nice job man🎉
Thanks 😁
Nice
When r u gona join me for a drift?
I felt like sticking a barbed hook in my own eye halfway through this
I’d never heard of a goldeye! Learn something new!
Actually. The first time I caught one I didn't know what it was either.. Thanks for watching

It’s been 4 years since the video. Is the transom still holding up?

I have sold the boat this winter but I know for a fact the person who bought it has taken the boat out a few times already this year. Try taking a piss, works almost every time for me.
thats funny cuz its true.. we call it chumming the water
After some seasons how has this held up?? My transoms in pretty similar condition, and like your boat mine was (almost) free so spending a ton of money in it doesnt make much sense for me. Curious if its still strong and rigid?
Heck yes. I actually gave the boat away this winter and the new guy has a 125 on the back. It held up amazing. Tons of people told me it would never work in the comments but it stayed strong.. I believe a lot of it had to do with the awesome aluminum plates as well, but nothing in the transom was spongy. Thanks for watching.
My biggest pike was on a big 3 of diamonds. Roughly that size, given to me by a friend. Was sitting in his tackle box for like 20 years before I used it to catch mine. I still have that spoon.
That's awesome. I've actually talked way bigger stuff and it's amazing because something big as Say 12 inches will catch a pike around 12 inches. They are very greedy eaters. Thanks for watching.
Great stuff bro. What rod is it?
You know what. It was my favourite Rod, and I couldn't tell you what it was off of my memory. That rod was stolen out of my truck.. Thanks for watching
This is awesome! Ive got a jon boat totally not worth going through the trouble of replacing the transom. Ill mostly be trolling on flat water. Just curious why you reinforced with metal plates. Was it only to keep the motor mounts from deforming the fiberglass? Ive got really thin aluminum cover plate on the inside. You a much smaller extra plate would be sufficient? How did you reattach the top metal piece. Not sure if that provides any structural support for my boat.
I believe I put the top metal strip back on with screws. I also put a whole bunch of no more nails wet grab underneath it.. Good luck with your project. And thanks for watching..
Nice work! I thought there are no snakes in Alberta because of cold temperatures 🤔
There’s lots of snakes. When I was a kid, my grandma actually caught me with well over 10 snakes in the drawer under my bed lol.
How many bottles did you use? Also how long did you actually wait for it to cure. I’m doing this tomorrow and will only Be using it on a lake with a 50hp motor. Most of the transom is decent I believe!
That one took me I believe five bottles. If you’re going to do it, I recommend drilling, smaller holes so you’ll leave much more material in the transom, but I just got rid of my boat a couple months ago. The person I sold it to was happy, and the transom was still holding strong. Good luck. Feel free to let me know how it worked out.
The name starts with a V🥱
You know it. Thanks for not spilling the beans. One of my favorite places to stop when we’re traveling back from BC.
Could you send me the link where you got the plates from?
@FishGawd
The plate was off the back of an old electrical panel. It was probably 3/8 or half inch thick aluminum. I cut out off the bottom the pieces I needed that acted as the inside plates as well.
Great stuff brother. Those bugs looked mental.. not ready for that again. Here watching this video getting pumped for the next season!
Call Lake is a great place to go just for some easy fishing to put numbers in the boat. I love it up there, but I seem to always manage to hit some sort of rock shelf or reef. That’s not on the fishing charts. Lol.
Howdy. I have a 90 hp Johnson. Do you think it's necessary to take the outboard off for this repair?
I’m not sure. Nothing I did. There was conventional. I had to take mine off because the transom was so soft that my motor actually poked a couple holes in the fiberglass and I was taking on water when I was fishing at Lake Baptiste. Please let me know how it works out for you. Also, I recommend using a much skinnier drillbit and taking out far less material, or if you use a big drillbit, fill the holes afterwards with some kind of epoxy
What is the opening day for gull lake?
I’m not 100% sure. You could probably just look on the Aspen Beach website or Brewster Landing I think is the other campsite. Thanks for watching. See you on the water.
i get this is 4 years old but thats terrible
I really didn’t care about the boat if it didn’t work. But it turned out being awesome and I’m getting lots of responses from other people who have tried it. I just recommend everybody drills smaller holes and or fills those holes with epoxy after they’re done, but I just sold my boat. Took off the motor and the transom was still wicked strong.
That lure (flat fish) was the equivalent of a large size Yakima which was Helina? Warans look like that too. Damn the spelling anyway.
Me I cut mine 25 /75 with vodka & cruse at about 5mph.
Vodka, Diet Coke. Thanks for watching. Are you up at Baptiste. We should go fishing sometime together. Hit me up on Facebook messenger. Paul Burt
