They didn't even intentionally get rid of him. Baker demanded a trade because they gave Watson an offer. They only gave Watson a contract he couldn't refuse when Baker wrote a goodbye to Cleveland. It was never a good idea to move on from baker. It was never a good idea to give dw a record setting contract and give up first round picks for him. It has all but been completely proven now.

It just took 1 game for me to realize this season is over. I remember when the Browns started 0-2 in 1980 and recovered and went on to the playoffs while finishing 11-5, but even at 0-2 it looked like they were going to play better. Game 1 in 2024 is a different story. Every aspect of the Browns was just one giant embarrassment. There's no way things can be turned around especially with their very tough schedule. This is going to be a long, long season.

Been a fan since I was a kid, I was there for Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble, 0-16, but this is just to much, I won’t go to a game, and I’ll occasionally check in on the score on Sundays but won’t watch this garbage anymore, team is a embarrassment, and yeah the season IS OVER after one game, I’ve seen this movie before I know how it ends. Im actually surprised that people are susprised about the mistake on the lakes performance. Anyone with half brain capacity knew this was going to happen. Baker has been better than DeShawn in every single possible measurable since the trade. Baker threw for 4100 yards last year. If we didn’t trade Baker, he could be running this offense +3 first round draft picks and a second round draft pick. I agree with you Adam 100% except when it comes to Baker. Browns should of held on to Flacco even sitting behind Watson or even 3rd behind Watson. He was good for this team. He made Stefanski look good last year.

It was the right move at the time to get rid of Baker? Ridiculous. When they gave up on him for Deshaun, I finally (after watching the Browns my whole life) gave up on the Browns. He performed admirably with a crazy coaching carousel, a f’d up shoulder, and an imbalanced roster. And we tossed him out for a creepy, predator. I moved from Cleveland to Tampa just before Brady arrived and am now rooting for a solid family man and positive role mode (Baker) not for some psycho. Admit you were wrong at the time, not just in hindsight.

The whole game plan was trash. Offensive play calling was atrocious. We averaged nearly 5 yards per carry but ran it 19 times while letting that clown throw it 45 times. Did anyone else understand why Buffalo fired Dorsey? But that said, Kevin wants to throw it like we've got Dan Marino back there so why be surprised at what we just saw. Buckle up, it's going to be a long year.
